Diner Reviews
  • "I was pleasantly surprised by my dining experience at R House. The cocktails were excellent (I highly recommend the ginger martini and the cherry old-fashioned). To start, we had the duck confit spring rolls, braised short rib sliders, and sweet pea falafel. I enjoyed all three quite a bit, and the duck confit spring rolls were especially fantastic. I wish I could eat those every day for the rest of my life. Our mains were also excellent (seared ahi tuna with soba noodles, and the Brazilian moqueca stew). Service was friendly but a bit slow. Still, it was nice to be able to linger at the table and enjoy the food, so I did not mind. We will definitely come back here soon."

  • "For a brunch (food and booze brunch) it's going to cost $52 + tax + 18% automatic gratuity. food is ok, quantities are very small. service is too slow, after we were seated we waited for 20 minutes before someone showed up at our table (we had to flag them). it was an "Ok" experience but there are better quality brunches out there with much more reasonable prices"

  • "As a seafood lover I ordered the Brazilian Seafood entreé (first on the menu). The flavor was great, but it lacked of seafood on it!!! My husband and I shared the full size one and we only had 4 shrimp, 2 scallops and that's it and a ton of juice to mix in the basmati rice. The ceviche, tuna tartare and duck rolls were really good although a bit pricy for my experience. The pasta my son ordered was good in flavor but a bit overcooked. He liked it because as a teenager he will eat everything in front of him, but I believe they should make it a bit more saucy and less cooked. Overall the place is nice, vibrant and the flavors are good and yes, I do recommend it...hoping they get better."

  • "The service was very slow and poor and the best way to describe it is a chaotic scene. Either everyone is a rookie learning on their first job or the standard of service is far below any other restaurant in South Florida. Get ready to repeat your order at least 3 times to get it right. On top of all, the management is non-existent thereby the low quality of the service. The big surprise is that the kitchen does make some delicious food as well as the music and decor, so if you are willing to put up with the incompetent service, then go for it. "

  • "What works:responsive maître d, the chef is available and tries to fix the chronic mess ups from the kitchen and the servers, What does not work: all food arrived very close to stone cold and this seems odd since the brunch menu is a finite number of standard dishes. If the food is ready, why can't they get it to the table? the server does not know what is in the food (such as nuts in the basil pesto-of course I know that BP is not traditionally made with walnuts, After several delays I said to the server, I think we'll just settle up our drinks and go someplace else. At this point the server told me he would comp one meal-when the check came, I was charged for both! I heard a similar conversation behind as we were waiting for the check. "

  • "So happy to have R house in our neighborhood. Great DJ on the patio for brunch and the food was outstanding. The skirt steak with truffle egg and spinach was super! And of course bottomless mimosas on brunch helps too. Only suggestion, the patio desperately needs proper shade, especially for the lunch and brunch crowd, it is too uncomfortable out there. Thanks for the art and great atmosphere too, we will be back!"

  • "This place is A+++!! Friendly and accomodating host, expert barstaff and very attendtive wait staff! The food is delicious! I've been for dinner previously and this visit was to check out their new Sunday Brunch. Can't say enough other than check it out for yourself and you won't be sorry!"

  • "The place is great to hang out with friend. Certainly not a place to go with family. Music is good, but a bit loud for the older generations. I would definitely go back again with friends."

  • "In the restaurant the food is good; the short ribs were everything you'd expect and tuna tartar also although not particularly new in concept. The linguine with seafood was also good but not great. I thought the house Cabernet was a poor choice; young and more like a Merlot... you and I could both find a better choice in the local supermarket. The gallery part ends up being more background then gallery; no one is wandering around looking at the art without disturbing diners or drinkers. and the clunky and harsh nature of the furnishings, concrete floor and unfinished ceiling make it too reflective so it sounds like a swimming pool in summer. Wynwood has a few of these loud people's bar/kitchen gastro hangouts and while OK it's not great."

  • "We went for dinner last Saturday evening. the decor is very nice and the music was loud but a good. After being seated we waited some time for the waiter to come take care of us. the menu is not huge but seemed interesting. We ordered the Seafood Cakes, Ahi Tuna and Skirt Steak. The seafood cakes looked like 2 chicken nuggets and were very dry with a small salad in the middle with corn (nothing special) , the tuna was so chewy that I did not finish it. I think I never had such a bad Ahi Tuna, the inside was over-cooked and the outside was tasteless. When we ordered the skirt steak the waiter did not ask how we wanted the meat cooked so when it came the steak was rare in the middle. The piece of meat that was selected was not tender either. "

  • "We next to the kitchen even asked for better table. We waited 45 minutes for a server to approach us to take drink order; he disappeared never to return. We asked for wine list. He appeared 30 minutes later w/wine bottle & no drinks. Drinks came out & the martini was warm & no ice. We complained & when the new one came, they had just poured the same one in the shaker added ice & brought it out. We called it out to our server and he confessed we knew what he, and the bartender had done. Wine bottle doesn't come out for dinner before cocktails. Our server took appetizers disappeared for another 30 minutes, no bread or butter still. We arrived at our table around 8:30pm and still had not eaten our entrees till 10:30pm."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch. Food was very good. Interesting take on a brunch buffet where you get unlimited amounts of 5 dishes and then select one main dish. Main dish was small but very tasty. Loved the look of the restaurant with all the original art. Only complaint is the music. There was a DJ playing electronic dance music. That might be fine for late night but this was the middle of the afternoon on Mother's Day. Music didn't match the clientele. I plan to go back to try the dinner menu which looks very interesting."

  • "It's a rare treat when the owner/chef comes out to meet you and check that you enjoyed everything. R House is a hip spot with deliscious food and a chill ambiance. And there are large tables outside... Great for birthday parties! Thanks Rocco! I'll definitely be back to enjoy all the interesting happy hours you have lined up!"

  • "Another great night at R House. (6th visit) Food remains consistent. Staff is young & energetic. DJ was spot on (for me at least!) all night. Our party tried some creative cocktails at the bar before dinner-bartender was enthusiastic & quite helpful in suggesting new things to try. Owner does the rounds every time I've been there-nice touch. Tuna tartar, lamb & short rib are especially standout. Hint of cinnamon in the lamb is just perfect. Tres leches is the best I've had to date. If in Wynwood, R House is a DO."

  • "Finally a restaurant with amazing cocktails, hip ambience, and tasty food. Each dish was packed with flavour that trumps 90% of the "upscale" restaurants of Sobe or Coral Gables. Well done Chef Rocco!"

  • "Took a few of my friends for a nice dinner for the weekend and decided to try something new. We had heard about the restaurant over SBWFF. The ambiance was great and the art they had throughout the restaurant was beautiful. They had a great outdoor patio for groups too. The chef even made it a point to stop by a few of the tables in the dining room. The food was good as well. The Frutti Di Mare was not my favorite, yet there were some other great dishes. The skirt steak and corn chowder were amazing!! The weekends are the best time to check this place out the vibe and atmosphere are great too!!"

  • "We brought out of town friends to see Miami's funkier, artsy side by coming to Wynwood. Dining at R HOUSE really topped off the night, with excellent food, great service, and a visita To oye table from Chef/owner Rocco. Try the tuna tartare or ceviche appetizer -- both superb, and the braised short rib or the Brazilian coconut/curry fish stew, amazing! "

  • "We went on Wynwood Art Walking saturday . The setting is very nice, with a lot space between tables. The patio is a great option but tables are close to each other. The service was kind and the menu offers half portion which is a great deal. The food was amazing we ordered the skirt steak and the linguini di mare, basil mojitos were delicious. The place offers valet parking for $10. We found the price to be affordable fpr such a posh restaurant."

  • "Wow, after my first visit to R House, I cannot wait to return and taste the rest of the menu. I met two friends their this past Wednesday and we had a wonderful time dining out on the patio. The combination of delicious food, a wonderful wine selection, well timed service and perfect weather made for a fabulous evening."

  • "What a great gem this place turned out to be. The food was outstanding, the service attentive, the art interesting but, did I mention the good? We will be back just for the moqueca and sweet peas falafel. Highly recommend it. A bit pricey for a neighborhood place but worth the extra few dollars."

  • "R House is a spectacular new restaurant filled with interesting art, exciting décor, and delicious food. The service was extremely pleasant. The menu is varied and offers many good selections to choose from. The music was energetic without being too frenetic. A nice selection of cocktails and wine is available. The owner "Rocco" is very gracious and happy to talk with customers This is a great place for dinner when you are looking for something special in Wynwood."

  • "Dined here first time Friday. There is valet parking. Greeted at door by the Chef, nice welcome bit unusual. The restaurant is bright and in some way too bright. The food billed as global tends to be more Asian . The wine selection is limited and there is a charge for in house sparkling water. The servers mixed up our waters and poured water in one of the wine glasses. The duck confit appetizer was good yet very small. The falafel was good, the entree was more like an appetizer portion. The music gets loud around 8 , changes from lounge to uhntz uhntz. At nine still fairly empty. For Wynwood it's a good first try at fine dining needs to evolve."

  • "I ordered the Ahi tuna, it tasted really fishy, had to send it back. I ordered 1/2 portion of the Brazilian Seafood Moqueca , that was really good. My boyfriend ordered the Braised Lamb Shank, the meat was falling off the bone, the cooking technique was great, flavor wise it was a bit gamy and I could not taste the port reduction. It came with a side of Israeli couscous but it tasted as if it was seasoned with a pesto sauce from a powder seasoning. the drinks with the fresh fruits were delicious. I would go back for the drinks but not for the food."

  • "What a great restaurant! My husband and I went for my birthday dinner ( my choice) and from beginning to end it was divine! We had the baked goat cheese salad as an appetizer which was fabulous! My husband order the tuna and I ordered the skirt steak. Both were equally delicious. I would definitely recommend (actually I already have) this restaurant to my friends. One note, the parking was a little tricky. I had to drive around twice before finding a spot."
