Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I often dine at this restaurant for special occasions. The food, service and ambience is wonderful! We always enjoy ourselves here, as it is in our neighbourhood and within walking distance for us, which is a bonus!"

  • "My husband & I were excited to try Quince based on the great reviews. We were warmly greeted and sat on the patio until our table was ready as we were early. We started with the "Little Sister" poutine. The poutine was not as tasty as I have had elsewhere. My Steak frites dinner was not cooked to order. I had requested medium well-done and my steak was cooked medium rare. I did eat the outside and most of it until I realized how rare it was. When I did mention it to the server, she acknowledged that it was rare and not as ordered. The server did not apologize or mention it again and charged full price without any offer for the inconvenience. The food was just mediocre and not a restaurant we would return to."

  • "First time at the establishment, and it was memorable. The food was flavoured well, and cooked all the way through. I had the crispy lamb shoulder, and it was literally falling apart, melting in my mouth. Definitely the highlight. The surprise for me, came with the app. I had the little sister poutine, which was just delicious. I usually have a strong distaste for fries, but I'd order this again. Lastly, the dessert. Big fan of brownies, so had to choose their only brownie dessert and it didn't disappoint. Moist, sweet, and overall delectable. The environment was nice, clean and modern. Our server was amazing. Only issue is it seems like the place might be a bit understaffed as when it started getting packed, our server was hard to find"

  • "we started with the pate, then had an amazing beef brisket...so good and we finished with a wonderful dessert....everything was excellent and we had the best waitress....she was from Monaco and quite charming"

  • "never have been disappointed in the food ; first time I've had the steak frites but would probably not order it again -- very flavourful but too chewy for my liking -- frites always yummy ; would have stayed for the chocolate brownie dessert but the server had such an annoyingly pretentious attitude we decided to skip it ;"

  • "My friends and I were looking for a dinner venue with good food/wind and ambiance and Quince fit the bill perfectly! Lovely, lovely spot with excellent food & service. This place is so much better than packed mediocre restaurants in my neighbourhood. I'll be back when I'm in the area."

  • "Yonge/Davisville shops and restaurants open and close. However, neighbourhood favourites do survive and one among them is Quince. The owner/chef started in the area under another name, The Stork on the Roof, which was a gem. The couple owned restaurant took the time off for personal reasons and closed the restaurant. The place was missed. A few years later, the same couple then opened, Quince, a few blocks north. The ambiance is a bit different; perhaps now a bit more sophisticated but the food is still very good; consistent and well thought out and cooked to perfection. I have yet to experience an over cooked fish dish. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. What more could one ask for? Try it and you will not regret it!"

  • "A difficult place to find a parking spot…which resulted in a ticket. Service was pleasant, fast and friendly, food special was expensive and not special. Ambience was cafeteria style, only plus was a relatively quiet experience which allowed for conversation. "

  • "We enjoyed our entire experience at Quince - from the reservation process through Open Table, to our greeting at the door, to the charming server and delicious meals. He was attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being pandering - it's a fine line and he trod it well. "

  • "Dinner at Quince was enjoyable as always. Very good food accompanied by attentive service. Have never been disappointed here at this stalwart of the Yonge St Toronto, Davisville - Eglinton corridor. One minor note - a tad less salt please.......but minor indeed."

  • "Food is hit and miss. When it's good, it's very good. But when it's not... Have been for lunch twice in two weeks. Once very good - although music loud and terrible. Next time - very quiet but food wasn't good. Lovely place inside. I will try again. "

  • "Quince is a local restaurant in the Yonge Eglinton area that continues to meet and exceed expectations. The service is excellent. The food was prepared just as ordered. We had the lamb and the brisket, both of which were delicious. A great neighbourhood find."

  • "Despite arriving early for our 830 reservation the hostess happily took us over to the bar to wait for our table for two. The service was very good all round, the selection of drinks is lively and well thought-out. Our table was cozy with a great view of Yonge, the ambience was fun. Bustling, happy, one of a good restaurant with its patrons enjoying good food! We cannot say enough good things about the Dutch poutine for an appetizer. Holy smackers was it yummy! Our entrees were prompt, hot and delicious too. They make a lovely latte and the homemade biscotti is a great way to wrap up your dinner if you don't feel like going for a full dessert, though my goodness the sweet choices are tempting!"

  • "A friend recommended, and am so glad she did. The food was excellent and the service very friendly. There were only a handful of customers as it was early on a Monday evening, so not sure how it would be on a regular night. Enjoyed the fish special which was cooked perfectly. My friend had a pasta dish that is on the regular menu, will need to try next time."

  • "The dinner was lovely, great food and the service was good, not exceptional but fine. The restaurant was quaint and we were not rushed and this was great. I had the chicken liver appetizer which was delicious and enough to share with the table. Next I had the pappardelle with boar ragu an this was delicious, light pasta with a decadent but not too heavy tomatoe sauce. The cheese plate for dessert was a bit boring, 2 pieces of cheese with the lovely quince jam. I would definitely go back for a meal."

  • "First time at Quince and was very pleased with the food choice, the quality of ingredients and the presentation. Service efficient ; not intrusive. Even though it was Winterlicious, they allowed our group to sit and enjoy drinks at our table after dinner and not rush us out. Great ambiance, decor - not overcrowded with tables or furniture. Relaxed vibe and popular with groups and couples. We noted baffles in the ceiling to help curb noise level. The Pappardelle pasta with wild boar Ragu was a real highlight - good wine choice (and listed by price grouping). Amazing Pumpkin spiced panna cotte for dessert!! Will return for sure."

  • "The Quince experience was a charming one from start to finish. We were greeted warmly and promptly on arrival, and directed to our table. Our coats were whisked away and we were seated. The restaurant decor, with its wood tables, mirrors and chalkboards on the wall, struck the right balance between simple and sophisticated. The food was carefully prepared and attractively presented - from the kale salad and salmon rillettes to the pork loin and pappardelle with wild boar ragu, all of the dishes at our table were hits. The pumpkin pannacotta was a lovely finish to the meal, as was the cheese plate with quince chutney. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect - social, but quiet enough for us to enjoy conversation. Worth a visit."

  • "We first dined at Quince a couple of nights ago for Winterlicious and were very pleased with our experience. Staff were all friendly and informative, ambience was good albeit a little bit noisy, and the food was excellent. Location is good too with parking nearby as well as the subway. We will definitely return."
