Quince is a modern bistro featuring innovative Mediterranean cuisine. All our food is made in house and sourced locally whenever possible.
Recently renovated by Commute Home casual chic look is designed in a palette of natural finishes and warm tones.

We offer seating for 80 people, an informal bar with eating counter and private dining for up to 40. A mid town favorite for over 7 years, and voted one of "Toronto's Best New Restaurants 2007" by Toronto Life Magazine.

PLEASE NOTE: that we only accept on line reservations up to 6 people, if you would like to reserve for a larger group please call the restaurant directly to accommodate your request. We can sit parties to a maximum of 12 people.

  • "Despite arriving early for our 830 reservation the hostess happily took us over to the bar to wait for our table for two. The service was very good all round, the selection of drinks is lively and well thought-out. Our table was cozy with a great view of Yonge, the ambience was fun. Bustling, happy, one of a good restaurant with its patrons enjoying good food! We cannot say enough good things about the Dutch poutine for an appetizer. Holy smackers was it yummy! Our entrees were prompt, hot and delicious too. They make a lovely latte and the homemade biscotti is a great way to wrap up your dinner if you don't feel like going for a full dessert, though my goodness the sweet choices are tempting!"

There were only a handful of customers as it was early on a Monday evening, so not sure how it would be on a regular night. Enjoyed the fish special which was cooked perfectly. My friend had a pasta dish that is on the regular menu, will need to try next time."

  • "The dinner was lovely, great food and the service was good, not exceptional but fine. The restaurant was quaint and we were not rushed and this was great. I had the chicken liver appetizer which was delicious and enough to share with the table. Next I had the pappardelle with boar ragu an this was delicious, light pasta with a decadent but not too heavy tomatoe sauce. The cheese plate for dessert was a bit boring, 2 pieces of cheese with the lovely quince jam. I would definitely go back for a meal."

Even though it was Winterlicious, they allowed our group to sit and enjoy drinks at our table after dinner and not rush us out. Great ambiance, decor - not overcrowded with tables or furniture. Relaxed vibe and popular with groups and couples. We noted baffles in the ceiling to help curb noise level. The Pappardelle pasta with wild boar Ragu was a real highlight - good wine choice (and listed by price grouping). Amazing Pumpkin spiced panna cotte for dessert!! Will return for sure."

  • "The Quince experience was a charming one from start to finish. We were greeted warmly and promptly on arrival, and directed to our table. Our coats were whisked away and we were seated. The restaurant decor, with its wood tables, mirrors and chalkboards on the wall, struck the right balance between simple and sophisticated. The food was carefully prepared and attractively presented - from the kale salad and salmon rillettes to the pork loin and pappardelle with wild boar ragu, all of the dishes at our table were hits. The pumpkin pannacotta was a lovely finish to the meal, as was the cheese plate with quince chutney. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect - social, but quiet enough for us to enjoy conversation. Worth a visit."

  • "We always come back to quince. It is a fine restaurant The food is always good. Two at our table had the special of scallops and they were perfectly cooked. We always order the amazing fries to augment any meal. The sun choke soup was devoured along withthe steak and frites by one of our party. Another reliable and taste offering is the quail again endorsed by another member of our party. Desert was their incomparable chocolate bread pudding. We were delighted to hear a second location nearby will be offering quince's delicious Indonesian food. We can't wait. A really enjoyable supper at a great restaurant"

  • "Our small party returned again this year to find that the food was as delicious as we remembered. Tables tend to cater to twos and fours, but we were accommodated at the same table as the previous year which made us feel like "regulars". We enjoyed the sampling of the 'small bites" before and plates were cleaned of entrees with some of us having room to enjoy dessert. No complaints from this group. I would definitely return with or without the group."

  • "Quince presents a quiet, elegant face to Yonge Street. The food does not disappoint. Chef, who is Dutch by background, tries some dishes that are a little bit different and works with ingredients and entrees we don't often experience, such as the chorizo-stuffed rabbit I enjoyed as a special. The wait staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. A neighbourhood gem, long may it reign!"

  • "We were at Quince for lunch. We both ordered the chicken croquettes, which were good, and the soup of the day (butternut squash). The sauce with the croquettes was straight Dijon mustard, a bit harsh with a bit of bite. The bread for the table was good, but served with a mashed chick pea dip, that was spicy. The soup also had some heat, so overall, there was too much spice in the food items we ordered. Waiters should inform guests of this. I would prefer straight butter with the bread, and a straight butternut squash soup. They should come up with something more imaginative as a sauce for the croquettes--without heat!"

  • "This is our go-to restaurant near our home, in an area of Toronto where there are lots of choices. The menu is spare but interesting, the food is well prepared and tasty, the service is warm and friendly without being pushy, and the location is great. The menu emphasizes Ontario foods, is more fusion than anything else, and interesting and fun. What more do you need? Oh, yes, it's priced well, too. This is, quite simply, what a bistro is in Paris: known and loved by the locals, and appreciated by those who come from farther away."

I started with the soup of the day which was tomato infused with olive oil. It was very thick, rich and tasty. This was followed by a house-made pasta with pork sausage. Very rich flavours. Other people had pasta and grilled panini. All were good. Service was decent. We finished with various coffees and espresso. Overall it was a very good lunch."
