About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Great for outdoor dining
Quiessence is a fine dining, true farm to table restaurant located at The Farm at South Mountain, a 10 acre oasis by South Mountain. We have a 2 acre organic garden onsite that we utilize as much as possible for our dishes. Our menu changes regularly based on local and seasonal availability. We offer tasting menus with the option of doing 3, 4 or 5 courses. The restaurant itself is housed in the original farmhouse of the property giving the restaurant plenty of rustic charm. Patio dining is also highly sought after when the weather is nice.

We are vegan and we notified them ahead of time. They prepared the best tasting menu I’ve experienced in a long time. We ordered the 5 course option. Many restaurants really put no effort into vegan dishes. Even with advanced notice. But this restaurant really took the time and energy to highlight how amazing vegetables are. It was an experience we will remember forever. We’ve already been discussing when we want to go back!

The entire experience at Quiessence was fantastic. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there, and right away, everyone who worked there wished us a happy anniversary. I was really impressed with how personable they were. They even gave us complimentary sparkling wine for our anniversary. The service was great. They even gave a tour of the kitchen. While in the kitchen, even the chefs were wishing us a happy anniversary. From beginning to end, the experience was amazing. We got the four-course meal, and each dish got better and better. Everyone was so friendly, and we truly felt taken care of.

Everything about our evening was absolutely perfect for a special night out with the love of my life. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for in a way that made the experience unforgettable. The food was exceptional - beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and absolutely delicious. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and worthy of the experience. But what truly elevated the evening was the service, which was hands down the best we’ve ever experienced. A special thank you to Hilary and Fernando, along with the entire team, the servers, manager, and chefs, for creating such a warm, professional, and genuinely fun atmosphere. Everyone was so kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and authentic. You could truly feel how much the team loves what they do and takes pride in creating something special for every guest. Chef Dustin, thank you for sharing your incredible talent, passion, and heart with us and so many others. You have created something truly special and make every guest feel like family. As parents, it can sometimes be hard leaving our babies at home for a night out, which made this experience even more meaningful. It was so nice to spend an evening somewhere that felt so warm and welcoming, like being with family while still enjoying a truly special escape together.

FAQs

For a full‑experience evening (kitchen tour, Chef’s Table, wine pairing) book a weekend night, Fri or Sat, when the full tasting and team are in service. If you prefer a quieter pace and fewer crowds, consider weekday evenings (Tue or Thu) when service can be more relaxed and reservations are easier to secure. Always reserve in advance and request patio seating if you want the garden ambiance.

There isn’t explicit public information about a formal waiting list, but guests describe the restaurant as popular and often fully booked for weekends and special events. Reservations are strongly recommended, if your preferred time is unavailable, call the restaurant to ask about cancellations or a waitlist at booking time.

Partially, the restaurant is family‑friendly in the sense that guests often bring teens and celebrate birthdays or anniversaries here, and staff accommodate celebratory parties. There isn’t clear, consistent public information about specific accessibility features (wheelchair ramps, ADA seating), so call ahead if you need accessibility accommodations.

Quiessence offers several distinct seating options: the original farmhouse dining rooms (cozy, rustic with low ceilings), outdoor patio and garden seating (romantic, under lights), brick‑oven/wood‑fire tables and the Chef’s Table (kitchen/chef’s counter) for an up‑close experience. Private parties and chef’s‑table experiences are available by request.

Warm, intimate and distinctly farm‑to‑table, guests rave about the garden setting, twinkle lights, rustic farmhouse charm and quiet, romantic vibe. The experience is often described as thoughtful, unpretentious fine dining with attentive service and occasional kitchen tours. A few guests noted occasional pacing or service hiccups and that indoor rooms can feel warm or tight; overall the atmosphere is repeatedly praised as special and memorable.

The stated dress code is business casual. Guests often treat visits as special occasions and dress accordingly, many reviews describe a dressy, celebratory vibe for anniversaries and date nights.

Yes, call ahead to arrange dietary accommodations, celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries), private dining or Chef’s Table experiences. Guests frequently praised the team for customizing plates for allergies and for celebrating special occasions; note that bringing a cake has sometimes incurred a cutting fee, so confirm any cake or outside‑food policy when you book.

For the full lively experience (kitchen tours, busy service) choose Friday or Saturday. If you prefer a quieter, more relaxed evening, Tuesday or Thursday are good choices. Either way, book ahead and request your preferred seating (patio or Chef’s Table) when you make the reservation.

Yes, Quiessence offers private parties and Chef’s Table experiences. Guests frequently highlight the Chef’s Table (kitchen seating), private celebrations, and the ability to host special‑occasion parties on the farm’s grounds.

Yes, Quiessence is a top choice for a romantic date night. Guests repeatedly praise the intimate garden patio, twinkle‑light ambiance and quiet, rustic farmhouse setting. The multi‑course tasting menus, optional wine pairings and occasional kitchen tour make it feel like a special‑occasion experience. Note: it’s a fine‑dining, pricier evening (multi‑course pricing and add‑ons), so plan for a relaxed 2.5–4 hour dinner and consider booking patio seating if weather is nice.

Families do dine here, guests bring teens and celebrate birthdays with children, but Quiessence is a fine‑dining tasting‑menu experience, so it isn’t optimized for very young children. Expect multi‑course pacing and a pricier bill. If bringing younger kids, consider an early seating or private room and call ahead to discuss menu flexibility.

Yes, outdoor garden and patio seating are a highlight. Guests praise dining under the stars, twinkle lights, and the garden setting; patio tables are popular and often requested when booking, weather permitting.

Busiest: weekend evenings (Friday and Saturday) and special events/restaurant week; these are when Chef’s Table experiences and full wine pairings are most booked. Quietest: weekday evenings (Tuesday and Thursday) tend to be less crowded and easier to reserve. Regardless, Quiessence is a sought‑after destination, reserve early, especially for patio seating or Chef’s Table.

Hours for public holidays are not consistently published. Guests have dined during holiday occasions (example: Valentine’s Day and restaurant week events), so the restaurant does operate for special occasions, but holiday openings can vary. Call the restaurant when planning a holiday visit to confirm hours and special menus.
