QuatrefoilSimply Fantastic!Quatrefoil quickly became my favourite restaurant. My husband and I chose it for our third anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to find this absolute gem in gorgeous downtown Dundas. But do not always go by what you hear, experience the venue on your own and draw your own conclusions. You are greeted in a warm yet efficient manner , and from that point on you are made to feel that you are a well-known friend to their home. Their servers are knowledgeable, efficient and ready to assist you with any queries you might have. Food arrives at proper intervals, plates are hot, and your server is always interested to know that you are happy, without being "all over you". We have been before for various occasions, and would recommend it highly. All dishes are prepared with skill. The latest was when taking Toronto friends for lunch. As usual, the service was of a high standard with the food being well presented and of great quality. My friends had not known of this restaurant and were highly impressed. The location of the restaurant is wonderful and eating on the patio a pleasure. I had the meatloaf and it was a symphony of flavors. My husband had the fish and said it was excellent. The bread choices at the beginning also very good. I left my glass of wine choice up to the server and he chose a great little pinot the paired well with my meatloaf. We sat in the upstairs area, which was full, and it was a bit noisy, but the noise level came down after a while. The noise certainly wasn't a deal breaker at all. It is truly fine dining at its luxurious best. Everything is considered throughout the visit. The wine list is extensive and the server so well versed in how the wine will compliment your meal and suit your tastes. The pacing of each course and all the little extras made the evening extra special. I have never tasted such heavenly fresh baked bread. Our appetizers, main courses, and desserts were picture worthy, so artfully presented. The surprising thing was the generous portions too. We definitely were not rushed and couldn't have been happier with our first visit. We will be recommending Quatrefoil to all our friends! Our waiter explained the pea sprout fume and the honey mushrooms, both new to us. When the list of ingredients went on to include chorizo, I questioned that one. Then I found out why. The layering of flavours, the colours and textures made this meal one of the best we have ever been served. Our waiter, Matt, could not have been more helpful. That was very pleasing to know how much care is put in by the owner herself. Very friendly staff! Matt, our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and polite. The setting was beautiful, elegant- not over the top. I had the sweetbreads which were delicious, the pheasant which was extremely flavourful and some of my girlfriends gnocchi which was something I wish I had ordered on top of my meal! For dessert we had creme brulee. THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. I personally thanked the Sous Chef Dmitry, that night. The Wednesday service is just as great as weekend service.
