  • "This was a fantastic place to celebrate my 30th birthday. The manager personally approached me after checking in and ensured we were looked after. Our server had great suggestions and we were all able to enjoy a heaping helping of food with reasonable pricing. I look forward to going back and trying different dishes. The veal meatballs and eggplant parmigiana were standouts, with the banana dessert I had a perfect finish to the night. THANK YOU for making this a memorable evening."

  • "At a loss for a superlative enough superlative to adequately describe this Italian small plates paradise. Everything -- and I mean everything -- was top quality, presented beautifully and prepared perfectly. The porcini-truffle risotto was to die for, I'm still pining for the clams with chili broth and the burrata-beet salad was one of the best things I've eaten anywhere, ever. Delightful decor, charming and attentive servers and well-rounded wine list all add to the appeal. Will definitely go back - wish it could be tomorrow."

  • "Fantastic service started the evening. Food is unique twists on Italian classics. View is perfect, it was crowded in a good way, the manager, Peter, was professional and very helpful. Thought he was the owner with how passionate he was about the restaurant and how complimentary he was to his staff. That's what you want to see. I wish we had a Quortino by us. The goat cheese was ridiculous- fluffy, not soupy like the traditional appetizer brought out. All in all, a fantastic experience."

  • "We tried to get in off the street on a weekday night and the place was completely packed. We were impressed by the smells and the business they were doing so we made a reservation for a few days later. The food was overall very good. I believe this place would excel for more intimate dining experiences for two people. We were a group of 11 and it was a little difficult to make decisions for ordering, or to get enough of each thing that was ordered due to the small sharing style. Service was fantastic though. If I ever go back I think I would just order one or two dishes for myself."

  • "I'm from Chicago so I do my best to really try to learn about new places as much as I can. However, Quartino is an unstoppable force. It's just so good. Perfect for bringing a couple friends. I came with a group of 5 including me and we got 7 items- 1 of those being a pizza. AMAZING. Their sangria is delicious as well. It's a place I'll always bring friends and family to when they're coming to visit. Im a front desk manager at a local hotel and I always send our guests here. It's a fan favorite and I know they'll always come back happy"

  • "A recent visit to Quartino was terrific. We love the small plate menu because you can try lots of different items. There is a $25 tasting sampler that is not to be missed. It's like a giant antipasto; you get to choose 2 italian menats (all made in house), 2 cheeses, 3 side salads like eggplant caponata (yum), marinated veggies, roasted peppers, baby artichokes, etc. The homemade bread is delicious. A great wine list; you can order 1/4 carafe, 1/2 carafe, or full carafe or bottle (not sure). Well priced and diversified for wine lovers. The 1/2 carafe was plenty for the two of us. If you are still hungry, you can order from the variety of small plates or pizzas. Get the veal meatball slider; yum. Don't miss this restaurant!"

We ordered two appetizers and two entrees, which was more food the an we anticipated, so he took the initiative to halve our entree orders. We left full but not stuffed. We enjoyed the wine selections too. Other reviewers mention the noise level. They are correct. Perhaps outside eating, both at street and upper balcony levels, may be quieter. We would return with family and friends."

  • "Wanted to sit outside, was told to reservations were only for indoor dining areas. Reluctantly sat inside. Seated at a tiny table across from a loud family playing games at their table all night (to be clear, I have a kid; would never do that at a restaurant in consideration of other diners). All four of our small plates came about 5 minutes after we ordered, so we had no time to relax and our table was crammed. Food was delicious; manager did come over and ask if he should take away any of the plates and remake them later. Didn't want to waste food so we just dealt with it. Great food, nice staff; just hated the loudness and got the impression that they were just trying to get tables in and move them out as fast as possible."

We eat there at least once every time in town. Two levels of dining space coupled with outdoor seating make this a great Italian destination. Never disappointed with our dining experience.   • "Even though we had a reservation we were stuck at a table stuck between a large (8ppl at least) table and a door/walkway...so constant traffic and bumped elbows. The place just felt so crowded and noisy, tables too close together. There is so much "stuff" on the small tables that your plate barely fits on it. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Water glasses had to be replaced (not clean and FULL of fingerprints all over), when mentioned, waiter said it was the city "hard water".... uhmm all of the Chicago area has hard water, my glasses don't look like that at home! The odd "family style" way they serve your food is kinda weird, especially if you don't want to share (or don't care for) what each person has ordered."

Favorites were the meatballs, pappardelle and sautéed spinach. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Don't miss the delicious donuts with honey and chocolate dipping sauces. Sit close to your sweetie so you can talk in this loud venue. Quartino, we will miss you!"
