A place to visit in Chicago.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a good experience;Always a good experience; especially with a group.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFun for foodiesGreat food, full of life, friendly servers! Highly recommend this great Chicago lunch or dinner reprieve.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and serviceOur waiter was excellent. Very fun. Food was great.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for two or even a groupFood was amazing- a but busy on Mother's Day but a perfect place to go on my birthday! Pizza was amazing!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service & Great FoodReally like this restaurant! Great service, and great food. You drop a fork, and the staff has a new one immediately for you. The food did come out quite aggressively, but more than likely they were trying to turn tables at a vigorous rate as it was mother's day. Love this place. even modified my reservation for me, which was very kind of them!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable Mother's DayWe were greeted with the friendliest of waitresses and she remained upbeat and fun the entire time. She directed us to the specialities of the restaurant and made our Mother's Day dinner very fun for the entire family.
I have been here in the past and it was as good as the previous times.
I would definitely recommend it for a great city spot for good food at reasonable prices.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!We brought 3 couples with us from Oshkosh. Eight people are hard to seat, treat and be happy. We loved our table, loved our waiter and were thrilled with all of our choices!!!! It became a real party and still had plenty of time to see a show. I'd highly recommend Quartino's. Bring a groiup - then you'll have a chance to really explore the menu with tons of wonderful tastes.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic serviceWe had very attentive, patient, and helpful service throughout the meal. Food was very good, but the waiters ( and obviously the friends I came with) made the whole night enjoyable!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience! The overall ambience of the restaurant was very inviting and friendly, we all felt very much at home. Next, our waitstaff, Lindsey, was absolutely outstanding. She helped us with a special menu for a gluten issue. Just incredibly helpful and attentive! The food was really great. Everyone in our party of six totally enjoyed the smaller portion sizes and passing the plates so everyone could take a taste. A whole stack of saucers was provided on the table for just this purpose. I have the chef/owners cookbook and wanted to try items from that cookbook and every one was outstanding, and we are picky eaters. We are planning a return trip in a month, so many more menu items to try!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and wine.Outstanding food and wine. Pizza was fantastic and choice of wine was great. Dined on Saturday night and very loud.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for groups, shareGreat place for groups, share tapas and great wines!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways our favorite! We love Quartino and eat there whenever we are in Chicago.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food with amazing serviceThe food was fantastic, and perfectly portioned to share. I'd say "Italian tapas" would be a fitting description of the menu. Our dessert was delicious. However, the doughnuts were a bit underwhelming, but the gelato and tiramisu were great. Our server was extremely attentive and gave wonderful suggestions. She definitely made the experience that much better!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMQuartinoMenu was awesome . . . Great way to do Italian like tapas

Delicious5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is energetic and fun.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic ItaliaThis place is so good, the food is very authentic Tuscan (imho) and I appreciated our waitress being sensitive to getting us out in time for our painting class (around the corner at the Joynt) at 7 pm. The only thing I took a star off each category for, was her not offering us to-go boxes at all, and then the Quattro Stagioni pizza being a little soggy. I think it could do w/o the roasted red peppers on it and then it'd be perfect. I had a great glass of prosecco w/a generous pour, too. Mmmm ~ lvoe this place overall! The spinach prosciutto pizza was perfection.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was Great!Quartino has always been a favorite restaurant and this time proved it once again. We had a reservation for 8:30 on a Sunday night and the restaurant was packed when we got there, yet our table was ready when we arrived! I don't know our waiter's name and I feel bad since I am a server/bartender myself and usually find this information out, but he was great. Upon ordering, we were brought a margherita pizza (that was made extra) on the house, and all our entree's came out so quickly, as we mentioned we were in a hurry because we had a concert to attend at the House of Blues. Dinner, drinks and dessert were all delicious, service was great, we will be back soon! Just wish there was a Quartino in the suburbs!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA MUST GO!Excellent service and the staff pulled a wonderful surprise for my friends birthday! The food is very authentic! Good prices and wines. This is a must go everythime I'm back every time in Chicago!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time VisitSuburban dwellers & we really enjoyed our first visit. Loved the atmosphere from the rustic tables to "vintage" napkins. Very satisfied with our food selections and considering I'm very particular about food quality, I was delighted. Buffalo mozz in the caprese was outstanding. This is what a caprese should look & taste like (would add yellow toms too). Always like more balsamic & to my delight it's right on the table. Home made taste and presentation. Like the sharing concept & really like that it's brought out right when it's up so you keep things moving. Price points were good which helps with a large family. All were satisfied, including great deserts and the bill was very reasaonable. Service was also excellent.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMQuartino's is a bustling place,Quartino's is a bustling place, packed with people who all seem to be having a great time. I know we were! The food is excellent and the ability to try half-plates of dishes is helpful when you can't make up your mind. We went the restaurant twice with our children during a recent visit to Chicago because everyone loved it so much.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall plates, able to shareSmall plates, able to share with 6 people. Food was very good and good selection. Expansive wine list, mainly Italian wines.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Exceeded expectations by a mile! Be sure to try the tortellini, dates, pork shank, and the veal! The ribbon noodle dish with beef also! Wow what a great place even at 10:30 PM Saturday! Can't wait to go again!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFriday Night Frat HouseIt was so loud that we could barely speak to or hear one another. It was borderline ridiculous - perhaps because it was Friday night and the first warm day of the season. However, some of us had been there before ( had better experience then ). The crowd was very young and energetic. Not the best locale for catching up with friends and relaxing.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food at a very reasonableGreat food at a very reasonable price! Their terrace is great for outdoor dining weather permitting4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place to go for largeBest place to go for large groups. We ate everything on the menu. (OK, not really, but a lot.. ) And we had a few carafes of wine which our server let us sample first.... all for only $40 a piece. Such a deal and the start of a great night for all!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great! This time weAlways great! This time we requested that no additional salt be added to our food (shaved veggie salad, clams, Papparadelle, and escarole with white beans. The chef graciously complied. We so enjoyed the flavored and textures without experiencing "tight rings" on our fingers the next day.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK & MOREQuartino along with sister restaurants Gibson's, Hugo's Frog Bar, Lux Bar and the managing of RL continues to all preform at the highest level possible. With Celb Chef John Coletta at the helm Quartino produces some of the best southern Italian food with a few northern Italian influences thrown in that the city has to offer, couple that with a front of the house staff that is also one of Chi-town's finest, and then throw in that dollar for dollar this is by far the best food deal in the Windy City! When you add this all up and you have one hot, hot spot, by all means make a reservation, it will be well worth it.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was very happy with thisI was very happy with this restaurant overall! I loved the shrimp risotto and was so grateful that this restaurant had gluten free options! Thanks for doing a great job!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were seated immediately. We were seated immediately. The service and food were great. Our only issue was the noise level was so high it was difficult to carry on a conversation.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat desserts and waitressGreat desserts and waitress was helpful on picking out wine for the group4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been Quartino a numberHave been Quartino a number of times. Always a great and fun experience4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favorite amongstAlways a favorite amongst family & friends. I stick to the usual: one seafood (shrimp, clams, or baby octopus); one pasta (cavatelli, orrecchiette, or pappardelle when I'm extra hungry); and a split pizza to share (half margherita, half something else). We were recommended the fumo negli occhi pizza, which was so delicious yet not too heavy despite having plenty of prosciutto, speck, and a mountain of spinach on top. Other favorite go-to items that were skipped over this time due to the warmer weather are the tomato soup, veal meatballs napoli, and polenta fries. Our server Trevor was patient & very accomodating. Food came out with good timing and empty dishes were taken away quickly. Beware Fri & Sat evenings though, extremely crowded!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMYou're gonna love it here!!Everyone in my family loves Quartino! From a 9 year old who loves the grilled octopus to the 7 year old that loves the asparagus risotto. There is something for everyone on the menu and, the staff has been most agreeable to tweak a menu item. As some of us have food allergies and/or limitations as to what we can and cannot have to eat, it is a most enjoyable place to have dinner. We have celebrated two birthdays there in the years - all you need to do is let them know and a celebratory birthday cake will make its appearance at the end of the meal. It truly is a must stop for us when we are in Chicago!!! Go, and enjoy it yourselves!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, fun vibe, goodGood food, fun vibe, good location and GREAT service.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThumbs up!!!This was our first time dining at Quartino's and it was great! The food was delicious - except for the Bruschetta -- it was the only item we didn't care for. The restaurant was busy and it was loud -- we had to raise our voices to be heard at the table. The service was great and embarrassingly, I fell in the restaurant and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. The only thing hurt was my pride!!!
Overall, it was a great experience and I would go again -- and again.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe pork shanks and the mushroomThe pork shanks and the mushroom risotto were excellent. The veal meatballs were disappointing.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time at Quartino, butSecond time at Quartino, but first time in years. Was on a date, and overall, I give it great reviews. We only had water to drink, so I cannot comment on drinks. We had the caprese salad which was delicious, and the gnocchi, and the cavetelli. The cavetelli was ok, but the Gnocchi and caprese salad were both outstanding. We did it as tapas, and shared everything. The best part was not only was the service great, but even after we were done eating, they did not keep coming back to see if there was anything else needed. They just left us alone to talk. It was a great evening, and we ended up staying way later than we should, but not a bad word to say about the place. Great decor, atmosphere, food, etc.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love being able to sampleWe love being able to sample multiple dishes since the food is meant for sharing. The house red wine was reasonably priced and delish!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the atmosphere and theLoved the atmosphere and the setting. Some of the dishes were really good, a few were just ok. The short rib dish we had was average and the salmon was overcooked. But every other dish was really good. The pastas were great, the pizza was very good, and the cheese dish we had was excellent. If you read the reviews of people recommending various dishes and follow their reviews, you will be fine with what you order.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food! Small plateWonderful food! Small plate setting was a treat, sharing food really is fun!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMfast service, small portionsfast service, small portions which is a good thing because you can sample many items, and priced right.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThanks Open Table! I wentThanks Open Table! I went looking for a great Italian restaurant in Chicago and Quartino was one of the suggestions. What a great spot. Food, service, vibe - all outstanding. Great experience and we'll be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEnergetic and goodVery energetic. Noise level pretty high, but really good vib. Food was exceptional. Place was packed but wait staff very attentive.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall it was excellent!Overall it was excellent! We were seated next to two large groups which made it difficult to have a conversation and the tables are rather close so with the two groups getting up and talking there were several times we had our table or chairs bumped. This had nothing to do with the restaurant, food, or the service--all of those were excellent. I will definitely be back when I return to Chicago.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Groups!I hosted a group of 11 and the service was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Everyone got a taste of all the dishes which were served family style. We had a fun evening!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the small plates andI love the small plates and great service at Quartino. The service was attentive without being intrusive. A good time with good food at a reasonable price.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, friendly staff,Good food, friendly staff, a bit noisy...but not unreasonable.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian small plates! TryItalian small plates! Try the Salumeria Tasting platter, with one or two additional items. You can select your own items or have the waiter make recommendations. We seleced one item that we definitely wanted to try, and our waiter made recommendations from there. All choices were stellar, and there was even a lagniappe for good measure.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
