A word from Quartino
Quartino, an urban Italian restaurant and wine bar, is the creation of Hugo Ralli, Steve Lombardo (owners of Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House, LUXBAR) and Exec Chef / Partner John Coletta. Quartino combines the best of Italy’s osteria and enoteca to offer an authentic everyday Italian food and wine experience. “Where wine is cheaper than water” Throughout Europe, in bistro after osteria after enoteca, fresh local wines of high quality and unique characteristics are priced as a less expensive alternative to bottled water. Reservation requests for patio seating are not accepted. Patio seating is first come, first serve. Continued

  • "Food was fun sharing type presentation. Only negative was this place is LOUD! they need to figure out how to damp the noise level. Can't hardly hold a conversation without shouting. Sit outside if you want to enjoy a conversation with friends."

  • "A must for any foodie. Price, service, and qualify of menu outstanding!!!"

  • "Extremely small portions. They also forgot to give me my meal at a table of five. Everyone at my table had their dishes except me. I waited 20 minutes before finally I said something. The dish was fettecini with red sauce so it couldn't have taken that long. It wasn't great at all. The only good thing was that our reservation worked and we didn't have to wait at all."

  • "Great food as always although the noise level inside was unbearable and we almost left but were given a corner table in the bar where we could hear each other if we raised our voices. Older folks may be put off."

  • "I have eaten at many downtown restaurants and I have never felt so rushed in my life! It was like an assembly line of food came pouring out of the kitchen in any random order. I have eaten at Quartino for lunch, and it was not at all the same experience. I get that they were busy, but I felt like I was a burden taking my time to eat. It wasn't enjoyable. Such a bummer since I was trying the best I could to enjoy time with my daughter. I will not return for dinner any time soon."

  • "Every element of Quartino is special. Chef Coletta and his incredibly talented team deliver delectable dishes with superior service. It's a great spot for both business and personal events. Each time I've been to Quartino my guests have raved about the experience. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "A strange combination of Italian tapas doesnt mean two good cuisines can be combined into one. Place suits tourists more than locals - who know far better Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Overly crowded and average at best food."

  • "After a long day of sightseeing, we were pleased to find an authentic Italian restaurant within two blocks of our hotel on Rush. The salads were pricey but delicious. My brother-in-law loved his tomato and cucumber salad. Our main dishes - the Veal Osso Buco, shrimp, salmon and their Brudetto Ai Frutti Di Mare were all delicious, but my husband was disappointed in his small portion of shrimp. We should have inferred from the menu that we needed to pretend we were in Italy and order several courses. There were many categories to suggest this, but it would have helped for the waiter to suggest we order a pasta dish too. Next time we will. The noise level was the only drawback, but I would still recommend Quartinos highly."

  • "This was a fantastic place to celebrate my 30th birthday. The manager personally approached me after checking in and ensured we were looked after. Our server had great suggestions and we were all able to enjoy a heaping helping of food with reasonable pricing. I look forward to going back and trying different dishes. The veal meatballs and eggplant parmigiana were standouts, with the banana dessert I had a perfect finish to the night. THANK YOU for making this a memorable evening."

  • "At a loss for a superlative enough superlative to adequately describe this Italian small plates paradise. Everything -- and I mean everything -- was top quality, presented beautifully and prepared perfectly. The porcini-truffle risotto was to die for, I'm still pining for the clams with chili broth and the burrata-beet salad was one of the best things I've eaten anywhere, ever. Delightful decor, charming and attentive servers and well-rounded wine list all add to the appeal. Will definitely go back - wish it could be tomorrow."

  • "Fantastic service started the evening. Food is unique twists on Italian classics. View is perfect, it was crowded in a good way, the manager, Peter, was professional and very helpful. Thought he was the owner with how passionate he was about the restaurant and how complimentary he was to his staff. That's what you want to see. I wish we had a Quortino by us. The goat cheese was ridiculous- fluffy, not soupy like the traditional appetizer brought out. All in all, a fantastic experience."

  • "We tried to get in off the street on a weekday night and the place was completely packed. We were impressed by the smells and the business they were doing so we made a reservation for a few days later. The food was overall very good. I believe this place would excel for more intimate dining experiences for two people. We were a group of 11 and it was a little difficult to make decisions for ordering, or to get enough of each thing that was ordered due to the small sharing style. Service was fantastic though. If I ever go back I think I would just order one or two dishes for myself."

  • "With these small to moderate portions arriving at your table as they are ready, it's the perfect stage for a staggered and shared meal. We ordered some full and some half orders allowing us to taste a number of dishes. The Eggplant and Pappardelle were our faves! Good selectionof wine as well. Definately coming back."

  • "My group was celebrating an end of an era and we thought Quartino would be great...a few first timers came and were blown away by the food. Also...the prices cannot be beat for a downtown restaurant."

  • "Had brought my biggest clients there for a dinner. Food was amazing, everyone shared the different Tapas. Very loud environment which made it hard to hear, but the place had a great vibe, awesome staff, prices were perfect. would def return again and again. Highly recommend."

  • "I went here with a group of 11 and we were really well cared for. The service was quick and the food was very good. We tried many, many things and everyone found something they loved. The dessert is fantastic as well! The prices were reasonable and we left happy. It is noisy, so if that's a concern, keep that in mind."

  • "I'm from Chicago so I do my best to really try to learn about new places as much as I can. However, Quartino is an unstoppable force. It's just so good. Perfect for bringing a couple friends. I came with a group of 5 including me and we got 7 items- 1 of those being a pizza. AMAZING. Their sangria is delicious as well. It's a place I'll always bring friends and family to when they're coming to visit. Im a front desk manager at a local hotel and I always send our guests here. It's a fan favorite and I know they'll always come back happy"

  • "Wonder experience. Recommended by a friend, we were visiting from Kansas City and were seated on the patio. The weather was perfect and the food was amazing. Lovely wine...one of the best affordable Pinot Noirs we've had in the city. Will be back."

  • "A recent visit to Quartino was terrific. We love the small plate menu because you can try lots of different items. There is a $25 tasting sampler that is not to be missed. It's like a giant antipasto; you get to choose 2 italian menats (all made in house), 2 cheeses, 3 side salads like eggplant caponata (yum), marinated veggies, roasted peppers, baby artichokes, etc. The homemade bread is delicious. A great wine list; you can order 1/4 carafe, 1/2 carafe, or full carafe or bottle (not sure). Well priced and diversified for wine lovers. The 1/2 carafe was plenty for the two of us. If you are still hungry, you can order from the variety of small plates or pizzas. Get the veal meatball slider; yum. Don't miss this restaurant!"

  • "The food was not what I expected. Some items were great, some were ok. Nothing bad though. I wanted this to be great. With all of the dining options in this area, this didn't measure up. Sorry for my honesty."

  • "Great outdoor dining spot. Retractable awnings allow rain or shine dining. Small sharing plates ideal for light eaters and people who love to try more variety."

  • "The restaurant was amazing. The meals are designed to share which I like because you get a good variety! We sat outside right on the street which actually wasn't too loud and made for good people watching. Great experience. Definitely recommend- especially the desserts!"

  • "We had a wonderful experience at Quartino on Friday night. Our waiter was helpful and attentive, knowing how to anticipate our needs. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees, which was more food the an we anticipated, so he took the initiative to halve our entree orders. We left full but not stuffed. We enjoyed the wine selections too. Other reviewers mention the noise level. They are correct. Perhaps outside eating, both at street and upper balcony levels, may be quieter. We would return with family and friends."

  • "Wanted to sit outside, was told to reservations were only for indoor dining areas. Reluctantly sat inside. Seated at a tiny table across from a loud family playing games at their table all night (to be clear, I have a kid; would never do that at a restaurant in consideration of other diners). All four of our small plates came about 5 minutes after we ordered, so we had no time to relax and our table was crammed. Food was delicious; manager did come over and ask if he should take away any of the plates and remake them later. Didn't want to waste food so we just dealt with it. Great food, nice staff; just hated the loudness and got the impression that they were just trying to get tables in and move them out as fast as possible."
