A word from Quality Meats
Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

Diner Reviews
  • "The food was amazing and the staff was very kind and helpful. However it was very loud and the service was extremely slow. All if the appetizers were fabulous especially the peanut butter bacon. However, my halibut was over cooked. Overall a positive experience."

  • "Quality meats had been recommended to me by different friends and I understand why! The meat was melting in my mouth, the corn creme brulee was delicious. I followed the advice of the waitress to take the Parmesan waffle fries. They were a little bit dry and very normal compared to the rest. Next time (and there will definitely be one) I will take the creamed spinach. The design of the interior is amazing (much classier and modern than any other steakhouse I have been to). The only negative thing might be the noise level, which was really high. But that's how it is in nice places in New-York. To conclude, I loved it and can't wait to go back."

  • "Amazing! Just amazing! Best steak house in NYC! Great service, excellent dinner, fantastic dessert."

  • "Surprise dinner was hosted here - team we extremely accommodating and allowed for the surprise to be a success! Food and wine was delicious for picky eaters. Would definitely recommend to friends."

  • "Everything was really good! Especially the signature corn creme brûlée! Like that they had a smaller cheaper hanger steak option for myself since I don't finish the larger steaks that are usually on steakhouse menus."

  • "I was a little hesitant because of the name of the restaurant (terrible name, fabulous restaurant). I loved everything about this place. The atmosphere, the décor, the service and especially the food. Will definitely go back and remember this one if I have someone I want to impress."

  • "You can't go wrong here. The steaks are among the best we've ever had, but the other entrees are also top notch. A frequent special, Dover sole, is terrific. The tomahawk ribeye is spectacular. Great, varied menu. The sides include some wonderfully decadent choices, including the broccoli cheese balls and the waffle fries. Terrific wine list filled with interesting choices for reasonable prices. Oh, and the steak sauce they make by hand tableside -- so great. I could eat that stuff on anything."

  • "Delicious food. I wanted my steak cooked a little more and they quickly and kindly complied. More than competent service, and friendly to my 3 year old daughter. A Slightly rushed feeling at check time is my only complaint."

  • "The food was very good but the service was really lacking - never refilled water or beverages, had to ask for things like salt twice."

  • "I really enjoyed Quality Meats. I had the bone in rib eye which was perfectly cooked and delicious. A great cut of beef. The sides were good. The creamed spinach and the grilled asparagus were tasty, but similar to what you would find at most time steakhouses. The chocolate cake was good, but the custard topped with raspberries was outstanding. Delicious and refreshing."

  • "Amazing, unique foods - plus your favorite steak in any cut you could want. Awesome service, outstanding atmosphere. Took our request for seating seriously. Even brought champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! You will not be disappointed."

  • "We were there at lunch, service was efficient, polite and fast, steak and sides were really of great quality. Not cheap but deserve it."

  • "Food was very good but steaks were not served the way we ordered them and were over cooked. The wine was spectacular. It was not easy to catch our waiter's eye whenever we wanted to order."

  • "This was an amazing dinner and one of the top steak houses in the US."

  • "This was a much better dinner for my husband, who is a big steak lover.. His bone-in rib-eye was perfectly cooked and he enjoyed it immensely. My dinner, in the other hand, was average, at best. My halibut was slightly overcooked and many of the sides had meat in them, which made my meal just ok. Their selection of white wine by the glass is pathetic, given the far better choice for reds. Chardonnay selection by the bottle is good, but all wines are expensive. If you're in the mood for red meat, this is a good choice. If not, find another restaurant!"

  • "The entire experience was fantastic. Cannot find a thing wrong with the entire meal, the service, the atmosphere."

  • "Great Service, Great Food and Great Fun! The filet was perfect and the pan roasted crispy potatoes were incredible. Add in some homemade ice cream to finish off the meal and I'm hooked. The menu, ambiance, and service combined to make our experience a lot more fun than most steakhouses. I'm looking forward to my next visit!"

  • "In short, the overall experience was exceptional. There was ample space to host a part of 5 very hungry fellas, and the wait staff made it such a seamless experience. We were not rushed, the food was top-notch and I would highly recommend this location."

  • "We went here on Saturday night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food, ambience, and service all made for a special night. We started with the local farmer's salad. He had the rib-in steak, while I had the halibut. For sides we had the corn creme brulee (seriously one of the best things I ever ate) and the crispy roasted potatoes which were drizzled with a rosemary garlic butter. Dinner was phenomenal and my husband, who can be picky about his steak, said it was up there on his list of best steakhouse he's been too. For dessert we shared the coffee and donuts ice cream which was tasty and just the right amount to end our meal."

  • "I took my boyfriend for his birthday here. It had been five years since I last visited QM. Looks like they did some remodeling since then and it is beautiful. My boyfriend was very impressed with the food and overall experience. It is our new favorite restaurant."

  • "I recently went back to Quality Meats after 3 years and it has definitely changed. While the food was still good, the ambience felt more geared toward families and group diners. What used to be an upscale steakhouse has altered to a more family style steakhouse. My cut of meat was also not as high quality as I've received before. That being said, the apps, side dishes and wine list are still varied and tasty."

  • "For me is the best meat you can eat in NYC. Try to taste the corn brule"

  • "I came into the city to try the new OTPayments through the app...it was so easy to use....food was so good...service was amazing...my wife is preg. and the server helped her to the ladies room and back...would definitely come back again and again!"

  • "The best. The best meat that I have eat in MY life."

  • "Even though we were 30 minutes late on a Tuesday night (8/12/2014) and it was crowded, we were seated at a very nice table. The service was gracious and informative, and the steak was outstanding. My wife and I shared the Porterhouse and it was cooked perfectly. Our only quibble was that there was no baked potato on the menu. And the crispy potatoes we had instead, for our taste, were inedible - when having a $92 (for two) Porterhouse the last thing we wanted was what turned out to be no better than mediocre french fries. After the first taste we didn't touch it again. That aside, the Corn Creme Brulee is not to be missed! It was too sweet for me but my wife loved it. Go to Quality Meats as soon as you can! You'll be glad you did."

  • "Had a business dinner there with a client. Great atmosphere, excellent food and the rib eye was cooked to perfection. My only knock was that the Meatballs appetizer could have been a bit better."
    Dined on 8/12/2014
  • "Whereas the food and service is superb, the noise level is the worst of any place I have eaten at. It's like eating at a subway station ... Why do steak places purposely try to bump up the mouse level ? Do they really think women , and all men actually enjoy that kind of ambiance?"

  • "Celebrated my birthday here with my wife and mom! They didnt disappoint at all! Loved the food service was great! Easy booking with Opentable too!"

  • "We shared the porter house for two. Excellent quality, super tasty bread as a welcome treat. Absolutely recommended to go there. Like all restaurants in NYC, rather cold for European experiences, seems like people are not supposed to stay very long."

  • "From the moment I walked into the door and was met by energetic and interesting hostesses, I had a lovely time at Quality Meats. The service was excellent, as we had a great server and a great expeditor. Most importantly was an excellent menue and we loved our aps, steaks and sides. The food arrived cooked as we requested and the staff checked in on us an appropriate amont of time, to ensure good service, but not overwhelming us. I will be back."

  • "This was my third trip to Quality Meats. Each time I have been there for a business lunch and had a salad topped with seafood. The first was spectacular: beautifully presented, flavorful, just perfect. The following two visits were huge disappointments. So bland that I thought they had forgotten to put the dressing on. Also, the presentation had changed remarkably. Perhaps a new kitchen staff? Not sure, but a $25+ salad should be something to remember in a better light than I remember these two! Side dishes of corn casserole and creamed spinach were delicious and really necessary to add a little more depth to the meal."

  • "Lunched here with client. Food was good, although neither of had steak. Lemonade in a hot summer day was refreshing. Wait staff was prompt without being intrusive."

  • "great steakhouse - we loved the food and wine. it was as usually way too much food, which is a pity - not being able to eat all of the great steak, nor enjoy the starters or desserts :-) the staff was very professional and attentive and we had a great time. the noise level was rather high, not uncomfy though."

  • "Wonderful service all round, from seating us even while someone was running late, to knowledgeable sommelier, to attentive staff throughout dinner. Had steak tartare. Had filter mignon. Had corn brulee side. All of it was perfection. FM cooked perfectly - highly recommended."
