Quality Meats is as good as the best steaks houses anywhere. A great deal of care is made to ensure you are absolutely happy with the steak selection and preparation. Service staff are attentive and well trained. Looking forward to my next trip. We had a drink in the bar prior to our meal - the atmosphere was great and the attention to detail in terms of the decor was spot. The service was first class - the team were helpful & attentive without being over bearing. They were able to make great recommendations in terms of the food and wine to accompany your chosen dish. The corn Creme brûlée was amazing and has to be tried, they also make a great steak sauce at your table. They range of meat available is great, we had a 64oz porterhouse to share. My husband's steak was one of the best he has had and I had the tuna entree which was the best tuna that I have ever eaten in my life. Sides were wonderful - roasted beets, corn side dish (can't remember name), asparagus. Great wine list, great service, nice atmosphere. There is a reason this is such a highly rated restaurant. Of course, didn't have any room left for dessert but I am sure that was great as well. I wish that I could remember our waiter's name. He was great! When the waiter came around with the dessert menu, we had to decline because we were so full. However, I felt the judgmental eyes of our waiter again. He brought out the check immediately, making me feel like I was being rushed out of the restaurant so he could work another table. A great place for steak but there are other options.
The complimentary bread is very tasty. We usually go for a tuna tartare or sashimi starter, then my girlfriend eats steak, I go for the chicken. We usually have a couple of sides (corn creme brulee and waffle fries). They have an extensive and excellent wine list.

Front of house were lovely, whilst being taken upstairs to our table I explained to the lady that we'd had a bad night previously elsewhere and were looking forward to celebrating my birthday here on our last night in NY. Once seated 2 glasses of champagne were bought over by our lovely waiter Stephen. The service and food were amazing - my husband’s rib eye was huge and he said the best he's ever eaten. My black bass was gorgeous! We were given a complimentary desert of ice-cream that was out of this world. Hadn't I enjoyed Keens a historic spot a few blocks south? Aureole? Ma Peche? Whatever the reason, it's taken me until now to finally check out Quality Meats. And I'll be back. Have the lamb if it's on the menu, its brilliant. The steak was excellent, the hanger steak with cherry sauce, yummy. But that could be true of any steakhouse. What separates this restaurant is the rest of its amazing menu. I had a chopped salad that was off the charts. The sides were equally different, the gnocchi in cheese, fantastic. And lets not leave out the Sticky Pudding with fig ice cream, for dessert. WOW. The clear rock star of this trip was Quality Meats (57 West 58th Street) in New York City. Only a block from Central Park, this is your destination restaurant if you like great steaks and meat in general. I couldn't find anything to complain about where the food was concerned: high quality ingredients and quality cuts, as the name suggests. Steaks are done perfectly to order and served at the right temperature by an attentive, friendly, and courteous staff. Sides are delicious and deserts unique and worth the calories.
