A word from Quality Meats
Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

While the portion is generous, excellent quality of beef, great presentation, however, the flavor is below my expectation. The mushroom taste weird bitter and spice. The waffle potato were too soft. The bone marrow was generous and made us half full already. I wish the waiter told us if we order too much food. We had to request few times for water refill. Really? For that price, I wish I do not have to do so (many times). The toffee dessert was extremely sweet. Going back? Maybe not. Too many great steakhouse in NYC.

Great steak house in heart of New York with a more modern look and feel while still maintaining a steak house feel. Overall steaks were cooked very well and house made steak sauce was a nice complement to the entree. Rib steak with oversized rib bone made for a nice Wow moment when it arrived. Good steak nothing that made it stood out against the other premier steak houses in New York but definitely on par. Service was outstanding especially the wait staff that prepared the sauces that evening. Free Sunday parking in the area was a nice perk as well.

Well, it is a high end NYC steak house with the DNA of the founders of Smith and Wollenski. Great portions, excellent quality and wonderful selections. A solid wine offering but a little skinny in the dessert area. It is very noisy and tight, our server was a little absentminded, but overall this place doesn't disappoint. It was our second visit.

Definitely lives up to the name "quality meats." Eye-catching interior and cocktail bar. Quality comes at a price in NYC, but plenty of steakhouses are similarly priced and don't deliver the value.

We dined at Quality Meats on October 16th. My wife has a gluten allergy and both of our servers were extremely accommodating and did their due diligence to ensure that what she had ordered was safe. Even though the restaurant was very busy, they were both very patient and understanding. The food was excellent - we had the bone marrow for appetizer, our main course of steak & salmon were cooked just the way we wanted and had the matcha mango bubble tea for dessert - but it was the amazing service that made the whole experience for us. Thank you for a wonderful evening! It's just unfortunate that I cannot remember their names.

SO and I came here for a nice dinner since he loves steak and I'd heard great things about Quality Meats. I did my research prior to going so we knew what we were ordering for the most part: steak tartare, creamed spinach, corn creme brulee, and the 24oz ribeye along with the chatham cod ). Steak tartare was AMAZING, full of flavor and I love the slightly chewy, sashimi-like texture of the raw beef. Creamed spinach was also awesome, as was the corn creme brulee which I could eat forever. SO's steak (med rare) was absolutely humongous and charred and seasoned perfectly, complemented nicely by their steak sauce. The cod was decent but not amazing. Our server was great and even fixed the wobbly table. Highly recommended!

I took my girlfriend to Quality Meats to celebrate our 1 year anniversary together. Everything about the experience was perfect. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 reservation. We were seated within 5 minutes. We sat upstairs and were served by 3 members of the staff. All 3 of them treated us exceptionally. We started off with a glass of champagne. That was followed by the meatball appetizer which was a special. We both then had the Filet. We ordered the parmesan waffle fries and baby potatoes. We both had wine with our meals. We split the monkey bread dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. One of the servers found out that it was our anniversary and our dessert plate had "Happy Anniversary" spelled out in syrup

From a warm professional welcome to the table it took only five minutes in the crowded industrial-chic Restaurant. The service had been fast and competent and the recoments are very qualified. The lobstercocktail as a starter is a real bargain, the ribeye and the filet mignon was exzellent and cooked perfect as ordered. The sideorders are the specialties, from parmesanpotatoes to creamspinach in the basket, everything was wonderful. We had a real nice steakhouse experience without normal frenchfries and ketchup, we will be back soon.

The worst experience in A NY Restaurant. The supervisor at that time was so sarcastic when my family ask for a better table. The table assigned was the first one next to the corridor where all the people enter. The supervisor never relocated us. All we received was sarcastic words fir him and no nice respond. Never will revisit or recommended this place. All because of the bad, sarcastic, disrespectful and nasty service received from the supervisor at that time.

Returning guests who dine at Quality Meats annually for our wedding anniversary. I guess we were spoiled by previous trips, with champagne being offered upon our arrival to our table, and a table that is in a favorable location (less tables/noise). During this visit, we were not offered champagne (not a big deal, but a minus vs. previous stays). Upon arrival, the hostess asked that we wait for a nicer table, we were early and not in a rush, so we happily waited by ordering a drink at the bar. We were then seated in a high traffic area with no ambiance. Service throughout the night was rushed and the wait staff did not take the time to draw a connection, as was done in prior years. We'll be dining at a new spot next year.

Took my family here last weekend to celebrate my birthday. The food and services were phenomenal, the only sour note was the family at the table next to us had a screaming kid and for some reason they thought it was ok to let him sit there and scream for 30 minutes. In fairness the restaurant did everything to encourage them to address the situation, but the mother seemed indifferent so those around had to suffer. I am paren and I had my 6 and 8 year old with me so I have no issue with children in the restaurant, I just feel parents have an obligation to not disturb or ruin the dining experience for others. The food was excellent, my ribeye was cooked to perfection, everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely return.

The food is outstanding. The service is impeccible. The ambiance is casually elegant - exposed beams, exposed brick. Funky and cool. The butternut squash soup with gingerbread croutons was silky and delicious. We shared a 12oz filet which was melt in your mouth good. Do not miss having the Crispy Potatoes - thinly sliced potatoes that are fried in duck fat. Not the low cal option but to die for!

The bar scene at the front of the restaurant is hopping starting at quarter to 6 and the bartenders are attentive and friendly. However, that is where the positives of my experience end. We had to wait for an hour to be seated! After being walked down to the very trendy and well decorated dining area we were seated at a giant table for 3 of us. While the manager was quick to come over and apologize and offer free sides and assured us of a great meal and attentive service, none of the above happened. We had to wait an additional hour to receive our meals that were mediocre at best and the waiter was less than attentive. Overall, it was a rather unpleasant experience and one I would never pay for again.

Not sure what happened this time. While they did try to accommodate our requests, it was just not as perfect as prior times. Staff who plated didn't know who got what. One person in our party wanted flavored vodka and they didn't have it. As a steak house, they no longer had a baked potato on the menu. They used to have a large lobster but no more. They did accommodate us & steamed three pound and half ones for the people who wanted them but it wasn't the same - they cleaned out the body so no tamale. The artichoke option sounded great but wasn't - wish it was a regular artichoke not a "dish." On the other hand, rib steaks, corn crème brulee, crab cake, rolls, oysters, lemonade were wonderful. Would go again but be selective on orders.

Went to dinner on a Sunday evening. I had requested a table in a quiet area. We were seated in a side room upstairs but it definitely wasn't quiet. Food was good but nothing outstanding. Caesar salad lacked any zing - little hint of garlic, anchovies or parmesan. Salmon dinner was good but nothing special. Steak was a good choice. Tried some sides also. Corn creme brulle was novel and probably the most unique dish of the evening. the roasted brussel sprouts were also well done, although some of the sprouts seemed a little on the older side. Nice selection of wines by the glass and the service was very attentive. Middle of the road for NYC.

The decor of this restaurant was outstanding - a mix of mid-century modern and industrial. Each table was placed in a way that provided an intimate setting unless it was a very large table. The food was great, while the steak was superior to the salmon. The asparagus was excellent but the creamed spinach was so so. The bread was excellent and the twiced baked potatoes were wonderful. Best desert was their orange dreamsicle vanilla ice cream with fresh squeezed orange juice - very refreshing!
