A word from Quality Meats
Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

The staff at Quality Meats was attentive and welcoming. We ordered the double rib steak which was way too much for the two of us. People at a neighboring table ordered one 24 oz. rib for both of them and we wish we had done the same. The Bubble bread is delicious and the specialty drinks were out of this world... I had the 57 w 57 and I loved it. The corn brûlée was exceptional but only if you like sweet things. My husband adored it but I thought it could have been my dessert. I adored my tomato, bacon, goat cheese appetizer. We had the coffee and donuts scoop of ice cream for dessert, shared it, and it was very good, not exceptional, but very good. All in all I would recommend this restaurant but be prepared for a $200+ meal for two.

what a feast to dine here! interior very stylish but not too formal. waiters are forthcoming and friendly but not in your face. Meat obviously from excellent quality. Wine list is very long and sometimes a bit chaotic but this will not spoil the fun. Truly enjoyed it!

I lost track o how many servers attended to us during lunch. The filet was perfect and the creme corn brulee was delicious. They even made the warm bread better than your usual restaurant bread as it was served in a hot pan. The warm apple and plum tart dessert was a little difficult to cut with just a fork, so the waiter brought a knife when he saw us struggling to cut it, but that was about the only flaw in this otherwise tasty lunch.

Have eaten about 3 or 4 times at Quality Meats and I really like the food, ambiance, and creative decor (lights are inspired by meat hooks!). In my most recent visit, the service was excellent, with great tableside presentations and attentive service. They were out, however, of my first wine choice (slight disappointment), and they made some changes to the menu where the potato option has changed (not an improvement in my opinion). All of that being said, I think the experience is worth it, and is quite enjoyable.

Everything we ordered came out amazing. West coast oysters were fresh, rich, and creamy. Bone marrow - wish I ordered two. Free dinner rolls were fresh, buttery, and light. Porterhouse for 2 - ordered it medium rare. Should have ordered it rare but still executed wonderfully. Cooked perfectly and not overly seasoned. Creamed spinach was silky but not heavy.

I brought the CEO of a company here. Was taking a chance but he really enjoyed it. I had the fish and he had the beef and some wine. The service was good. While the beef helping was good, the salmon portion could have been larger but it was cooked to perfection. The apple pie desert with icecream hit the spot. All in all, a good lunch and a good choice for a formal yet casual meal.

I typically make one stop a year during my annual business trip to NYC to Quality Meats. With so many other notable steakhouses having consistency issues, Quality Meats delivers a perfectly cooked steak, every time. That's really the only thing that matters. The bone in ribeye is really a sight to behold! For two people, unless you have monster appetites, one side is usually enough. Their cipollini onions are fantastic and make a great addition to their steak dishes. Fantastic selection of artisinal wines, lots are available by the glass in case you're in the company of someone who doesn't drink. This place is definitely loud - I am not sure this is a "first date" place. More of a place to take your buddies.

Myself & my parents dined here during our 5 day trip to New York. we wanted a great US Steak dinner & we're not disappointed. We had the 24oz rib, the bone in sirloin & the hanger with cherries...all 3 big, flavoursome &'cooked to perfection. Service was attentive & friendly & upon learning it was my dad's birthday he was given a free cookie ice cream complete with happy birthday message. The place was popular & you don't really get a lot of space, we did well being a threesome on a table for 4, that being said you saw a lot of customers on tables side by side chatting making for a convivial atmos....though not one for romantics (also because it is quite noisy) - saying that my 62+ year old parents loved it so cannot have been too bad.

The bacon, crabcake and corn brulee definitely as good as advertised. The porterhouse was very good, but thought the plate could have been hotter and the meat cooled off very quickly. For dessert, the toffee cake was excellent and our server was very energetic and polite with great suggestions. Definitely a great birthday dinner was had here.

Probably the best steak my wife and I have ever had....and we have been all over the country. We had the rib steak for two and it was amazing. 64 oz steak with two full ribs attached and done perfectly! The baked oysters were very good as well. My only complaint is the place is small, table close together and extremely loud!!!! Otherwise it was an amazing meal. Would definitely go back when in NYC.

I'm from Chicago, so I have no shortage of access to excellent steak. Visiting NY and wanted to hit a home run on a steakhouse. I considered a few options, including Peter Luger. I have to say, Quality Meats lived up to the name. Everything about this restaurant impressed. Excellent quality of meat, excellent app choices and great sides. Execution was spot on. We were incredibly pleased and would recommend to other foodies just like us. We got the bone marrow (awesome), oysters, ribeye (on a tomahawk bone), filet, side of bacon with peanut butter (amazing), and a great dessert. Wine choices were solid - we got a 2005 Boudreaux in the $130 range.

We selected Quality Meats for a Wine Week lunch. If you are not familiar, Wine Week is a semi-annual promotion that promises, well, The food was great. The wines were, well, disappointing. Moreover, we were notified of the 'Last Call for wines' when we had not yet tasted the last two wines, and still enjoying our lunch. This was the highly touted 'Wine Week' where featured wines are 'poured throughout your lunch'... We were rushed... and ultimately dismayed to discover as we were leaving that the wines were still being poured downstairs. Should we come back? YOU decide.

QM was recommended by a friend who recently dined there on a trip to NYC. We were looking forward to it but just were not blown away by the experience. Atmosphere and service were top notch and cocktails were generous and priced well. The food was just okay. We ordered the bacon appetizer which was good and enough to share. We ordered the filet and bone-in ribeye. The first filet came to the table overcooked and clearly not a center cut. The waiter and manager handled it well and quickly brought a second one that was perfect. The rib steak was delicious but by the time the bone was removed was probably only 9-10 ounces. The corn brule was good but the mushroom side was not. It was taken off our bill.

Oh the meat was bliss. Ordered a rib eye steak and it was huge with the bone sticking out from the plate. Sides complemented the steak really well and coming from the UK I was not prepared for the amount of meat that was presented in front of me. It was delicious and practically had to roll myself out of the restaurant. Highly recommend the food. Mmmmmm.

Quality Meats has everything you look for in a restaurant - excellent service, delicious food and amazing ambiance. We had a beautiful table upstairs towards the back which kept the noise level down. I suggest ordering light appetizers because the main event is worth not being too full to eat. The restaurant offers a good balance of specials for those not in the mood for a steak, but I highly recommend a steak dish. the side dishes were my favorite part of the whole meal and again I was very happy I didn't fill up on apps. Finally, you must have an ice cream cake for dessert! I'm not a huge Manhattan restaurant fan since I usually find them too noisy with expensive prices and little food, but this restaurant has changed that view!

Booked this at short notice for a family celebration whilst on holiday in New York. All staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. All the food we ordered was well cooked and presented and steaks cooked exactly as requested. The only negative, for me personally, is that I found the restaurant a little dark. Subdued lighting is fine but this was too low for me. Certainly wouldn't put me off booking again or recommending the restaurant to friends.

Went on a Thursday they only had reservation for 5:30 or 9 pm. I was going shopping on fifth so took 9 pm. I actually finished early and ended up going earlier 7:45 to my reservation. There true to the reservation time. We had to wait until 8:56 pm to be seated. If the front area had a better system were bar are would have not been bad. In order for you to seat at bar and a small coach I was told you had to have dinner there. So we had to stand for over a hour. But we still order drinks. Bar was packed, people bunkin in to each other. Once we seated the food was great and the waiter was very nice and food was prompt.

I loved it through and through the first few times I visited but I think the service had an off day. Our server never heard of Veuve Clicquot, mentioned he was in training (unchaperoned) then took an eternity to take orders and disappeared never to be seen again. Our table wasn't covered for I'd say a good 20 min while the restaurant was maybe 30% full. Attention to detail was also off (no ice in the ice bucket, etc.). Maitre D' was very nice and eventually the new server was adequate but none of this should have happened here and there are so many well established steakhouses in Midtown that don't bumble. Food is always great so they have that going for them and the look and feel of the restaurant is amazing. Hoping this was an anomaly.
