I was our first time. The restaurant is impeccable. We had an amazing time. I recommend this place for visitors as well as locals who live in NY. I had the filet mignon which was superb ably prepared, and do not miss out on creamed corn. Our server was attentive and gave great recommendations. The appetizers were delicious. We shared crab cakes, tuna, beet salad & crab. Steaks & tuna all delicious and served properly cooked. There was a delicious 2004 Brunella on the specials wine menu which was fabulous. Great fun meal. We had the best banquet table on the main level off to the side. Quality Meats is as good as the best steaks houses anywhere. A great deal of care is made to ensure you are absolutely happy with the steak selection and preparation. Service staff are attentive and well trained. Looking forward to my next trip. We had a drink in the bar prior to our meal - the atmosphere was great and the attention to detail in terms of the decor was spot. The service was first class - the team were helpful & attentive without being over bearing. They were able to make great recommendations in terms of the food and wine to accompany your chosen dish. The corn Creme brûlée was amazing and has to be tried, they also make a great steak sauce at your table. They range of meat available is great, we had a 64oz porterhouse to share. My husband's steak was one of the best he has had and I had the tuna entree which was the best tuna that I have ever eaten in my life. Sides were wonderful - roasted beets, corn side dish (can't remember name), asparagus. Great wine list, great service, nice atmosphere. There is a reason this is such a highly rated restaurant. Of course, didn't have any room left for dessert but I am sure that was great as well. I wish that I could remember our waiter's name. He was great! The food was delicious and the wait staff were very attentive! I would strongly recommend the corn creme brulee- I wish I had the appetite (and waist size) to try everything!

The waiter asked if we would like any wine to which we declined (because of the children) and once he saw us decline the wine, he wrote us off as poor tippers and less likely to spend a lot. Despite how much we ordered, I felt judged for not ordering more. But we were stuffed and unable to finish all the food. When the waiter came around with the dessert menu, we had to decline because we were so full. However, I felt the judgmental eyes of our waiter again. He brought out the check immediately, making me feel like I was being rushed out of the restaurant so he could work another table. A great place for steak but there are other options.
The complimentary bread is very tasty. We usually go for a tuna tartare or sashimi starter, then my girlfriend eats steak, I go for the chicken. We usually have a couple of sides (corn creme brulee and waffle fries). They have an extensive and excellent wine list.

Front of house were lovely, whilst being taken upstairs to our table I explained to the lady that we'd had a bad night previously elsewhere and were looking forward to celebrating my birthday here on our last night in NY. Once seated 2 glasses of champagne were bought over by our lovely waiter Stephen. The service and food were amazing - my husband’s rib eye was huge and he said the best he's ever eaten. My black bass was gorgeous! We were given a complimentary desert of ice-cream that was out of this world. So it shouldn't have been too much of a stretch for me to go to Quality Meats, a well reviewed and regarded American Nouveau steakhouse in Midtown. Hadn't I enjoyed Keens a historic spot a few blocks south? Aureole? Ma Peche? Whatever the reason, it's taken me until now to finally check out Quality Meats. And I'll be back. Have the lamb if it's on the menu, its brilliant. The steak was excellent, the hanger steak with cherry sauce, yummy. But that could be true of any steakhouse. What separates this restaurant is the rest of its amazing menu. I had a chopped salad that was off the charts. The sides were equally different, the gnocchi in cheese, fantastic. And lets not leave out the Sticky Pudding with fig ice cream, for dessert. WOW.
