Diner Reviews
  • "Located in the historic Boulderado Hotel, I was delighted by the ease of parking (which can be a challenge in Boulder's downtown). Service was great and food spectacular."

  • "We came for Sunday lunch, to my untrained eyes it wasn't that busy and they had plenty of staff, but the service was slow and the servers looked like they didn't care if we were there or not. For example, we arrived (with reservation) and had to wait and wait and wait for a table, during the wait the hostess never talked to us. When my mother asked for water with no ice, it came 30 minutes later and was delivered by a waitress who didn't even look at us as she plopped the water on the table on her way somewhere else. The food (eggs benedict) took 40 minutes to arrive, and during the wait not a single server came by to check on us, and the food arrived without apology for the wait and one order was wrong."

  • "Everything was top-notch. The braised lamb ravioli appetizer was worth the price of admission."

  • "We have always had good food at Q's. This past Saturday, it was great. I had the vegetarian entree, it was fabulous. Num. Thank you."

  • "The Restaurant Week menu was very good, with sufficient choices for each course. I would have preferred a dessert choice in lieu of the second course. The food was innovative and tasty. However the salad was served with the squash, forgotten by the kitchen and our waiter. Overall a good dining choice in an historic setting."

  • "We came here to celebrate our 1st anniversary and had a great time with delicious food! We forgot it was restaurant week so it caught us by surprise but we loved everything we ordered off the menu. They did an app plus 1 savory dishes for RW instead of the typical app, dinner and dessert. As a savory person, I loved the extra course. Had a delicious quinoia, butternut squash and spinach salad to start (I'm dreaming of it right now at 7am.....), a delicious mushroom/chard/parm risotto and an amazing pork chop with brussel sprouts and polenta. They had several wines on their RW week menu as well too - we had the pinot noir, yum yum. We all were very happy with the good, service and atmosphere, can't wait to go back!"

  • "Q's is great for brunch - in my opinion, it's one of the best in Boulder. The prices are comparable to anywhere else and they have a menu with a good variety. It's definitely going to be our go-to spot when we have guests in town."

  • "we've had drinks here before and they were great and we love the ambience of the Boulderado, but went for a business dinner and we're very dissapointed. The wine special was excellent, but we had an unacceptably long wait for dinner even thought restaurant appeared slow. The pumpkin soup was excellent, but the mains finally arrived and the requested "rare" Tuna special order was way over-cooked, cant understand why the cook would have ever let it leave the kitchen? Salmon special portion was very small and not very tasty. Not memorable and try to avoid seating in the glassed in dinning area, it went from blazing hot to freezing cold and we had to ask for the temperature adjustment several times. Dissapointing for a client dinner."

  • "We've dined here many times over the past 10 years and always found it a consistently good experience. Located in the historic Bolderado Hotel, just off Pearl Street, the location is great, as is the food. The wine list was good but not particularly extensive."

  • "Walked in and there was no host stand. Well, at least at first. It was placed in an odd spot away from the front door and halfway into the restaurant. Because of this, everyone looks lost when they come in, for the first time. When sitting down I was facing toward the kitchen. This view may have been the worst thing I have ever seen at a restaurant. They tried to do the "visual kitchen" thing but it was so forced it looked more like a view into McDonald's. It literally looked like they took a hole saw and cut a rectangle out of the wall and then slapped in some wired plexiglass. The inside of the kitchen was really an eyesore, too. Totally missed the point to an "open kitchen" look. You can't just make it visible; it has to look good."

  • "Worst service I have ever experienced! Waited 20 minutes to be served, waited another 15 minutes for a drink and wine wasn't served till after dinner! Waiter didn't even care. Will never go back!!!"

  • "Had an OK experience. Staff was friendly but appeared over worked. Thought the price was too high for the quantity of food we received. Had to ask for bread. Food was good. Would go back but not for a special occassion because of the pricing."

  • "Always a good experience. The service was great as usual, our group was served efficiently and cheerfully . Request for separate checks accepted without a pause. The food was tasty, well presented, hot, and prompt. We will return."

  • "We've been to Qs before and actually thought we had booked a reservation at The Corner Bar which is also serviced by Qs. Turns out that The Corner Bar doesn't take reservations. We ended up with reservations at Qs. For the price, the food was very average. My wife had the scallop special and I had the saltimboca mahi-mahi. The sides were bland at best. The mahi was overcooked and both dishes had exactly the same red pepper type base sauce. So, in essence, we thought we were trying to be diversified but ended up palate wise with the same. We preferred the crab cake appetizer as it had a good blend of crab meat as opposed to breading."

  • "We have been to Q's several times and really enjoy it. This time there was a new bartender of just 3 months and he was WAY better than the last two that were there. Also, there was a slight problem with my meal but I was impressed with the way they resolved it. Our wine, apps and meal were all good. We are all human and make mistakes, the deal-breaker is how the resolution is handled. The server was good-natured and may our meal even more enjoyable. We will return again and again. Shawn and Corrine at two servers we will certainly ask for again."

  • "We went on a Friday and this restaurant was about 50-75% full. Our server was outstanding, however it became readily apparent that the restaurant was significantly understaffed, particularly the bar. If Q's wants to be on par with the top tier of restaurants in Boulder it will need to staff up accordingly."

  • "Love Q's. It has become one of our favorite places to dine. Food, service, ambiance were perfect. We both had the lamb special and it was excellent. Started with Cesear Salad which was crisp and fresh. I enjoy Reisling wine and the one they have was perfect. Service was excellent. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. Will definitely return. Highly recommend Q's if you haven't been there."

  • "I'd give the food top scores for taste and presentation. My steak was cooked perfectly, and my dessert sublime! Unfortunately, the service was slow. It appeared to be the fault of management, not of the server. She was professional, friendly and accommodating, and working very hard - but she appeared to be the only server for the entire front of the house (which was about half-full). There were other wait staff and bar staff, but our "waitress" appeared to be the only one who was taking drink and food orders. Others were present, but filling water glasses, delivering and removing dishes….I will return to Q's though. It is one of my favorite Boulder restaurants."

  • "We chose to eat at Q's on Christmas since it was just my husband and I. I made reservations based on the menu which was posted online (intentionally avoiding the Christmas Buffet). Our hostess was friendly and seated us quickly. We were disappointed in the menu offerings which included only breakfast and a few sandwiches. Our waiter visited our table exactly 3 times - once to take our drink order, once to take our food order and once to drop off our check. Our food was barely warm and delivered by another on the wait staff, we had to catch the attention of another waiter to get a coffee refill, no one checked to see if our food was satisfactory, if we needed another drink, no water refills. Overall, a terrible experience on Christmas."

  • "We had a very nice brunch on Sunday. The restaurant was very accommodating, especially since we had two children with us. The menu options are very unique, and the servings generous and hearty. Service was outstanding. I would highly recommend Q's to anyone visiting Boulder. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and a true representation of historical Boulder"

  • "I was very pleased with our dinner at Q's. The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice on the fixed price for everyone to get what they wanted. I had never been to the Hotel Boulderado and the historical aspect of the hotel and the restaurant really made the day. I would have dinner or brunch there again."

  • "This year we had company and didn't feel like cooking all day long so we went to Qs in the Boulderado Hotel. The food was amazing and walking around the hotel after dinner was entertaining with all the historical items and the huge tree in the lobby. Overall a wonderful end to a Merry Christmas Day!"

  • "Q's was excellent. We had the three course dinner with wine pairing, and it was just stunning. The three wine glasses we had we 100% spot on with the food. It was a very nice experience, and a lovely Christmas night out."

  • "Every aspect of dining was the best. They helped us get a good table when there was a mistake about our time. We ended up not using open table because I could not make the software work."

  • "Gathering with Friends for brunch at Q's has become a Christmas tradition. The decor is spectacular, especially the tree that is at least 2 stories high, beautifully decorated, that graces the lobby. For feeling the Christmas spirit this is a not to miss experience. Often you will see sugar plum fairies from the nutcracker tea in the lobby, an added treat. Food is great, service is great. This is always an enjoyable spot, no matter the season, It is consistently excellent in every way."

  • "Had a nice brunch--good service & delicious food (& they take reservations!). Only complaint: would love to see them expand the menu--what they make is so tasty, but what you'd find on a menu anywhere. Had their bloody mary & wanted a small bite while waiting for a friend. Their bloody uses canned juice. It had a good level of heat, but would be better w/fresh juice & w/out the ridiculous celery stalk. Options for small plates were extremely limited. Their "pastry" selections were a muffin or a scone. Or toast. Seriously. I opted for grilled asparagus w/pancetta & wild mushrooms. Good thing, as it was delicious. My friend & I both had the chicken fried chicken w/waffles--filling & decadent--& the most interesting thing on the menu by far."

  • "We went to Q's to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our food was generally quite good. I especially appreciated the three course, wine-paired tasting menu offered at a very reasonable $40. However, we were a little disappointed with the service. Despite mentioning via Open Table that this was my husband's birthday, there was no acknowledgement of that by the hostess or waiter. I don't expect a free dessert but a "Happy Birthday, Sir" would have been nice. We requested a warm table, away from drafts and instead were seated at the banquette in direct line of the outside door. Our waiter was a bit slow, and had to be reminded of things along the way. In contrast, the other servers (bus boy? food runner?) were quite attentive."

  • "The service was excellent and prompt. My steak was a little tough (New York strip) and was cut differently than I am used to. The restaurant is set in the Boulderado, and the ambience is wonderful."

  • "great food, good service, and a beautiful setting. conveniently located in the heart of downtown. we chose Q's as it was close to the Boulder Theater where we were attending a concert after dinner. The staff made sure we were served without feeling rushed. Very pleasant experience."

  • "This is a great place to bring people when you want a quiet place to have a delicious dinner. It has such a pleasant, calm ambience, with a beautiful dining room area -- it's really a pleasure to dine here. The food was excellent. One person had mahi mahi and two of us had duck breast, and really enjoyed it."

  • "Q's is our family's "go to" spot for a special occasion, even when it's breakfast with a good friend you haven't seen for months. They're willing to accommodate smaller appetites with half orders or to split orders. Their holiday specials are indeed special. They don't have any oddball specialties but do all offerings equally well."
