Lee Ann earned her place in the BBq hall-of-fame with countless accolades often featured on TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters and the Food Network. Our Chef Partner takes BBq seriously.

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We didn't want anything too fancy, but we wanted good food! He and I agreed that it was exactly what we were looking for and we agreed that we will go back!"

  • "Chicago Q came highly recommended and did not disappoint. If you're into bourbon, this is the place to sample! Ask for the Bourbon Bible and get prepared to be overwhelmed. My husband and I shared a three meat platter (pulled pork, chicken and the St. Louis style ribs I believe) as well as two sides which was a good amount of food for two (fairly large) appetites. The BBQ didn't blow us out of the water but we have no complaints either. The assortment of sauces served with the platter were very good - something for every taste. We'd revisit Q, but not before we investigated some other BBQ places...Smoque is on the "places to eat" list. Maybe next time we're in Chicago...."

  • "Chicago Q is the perfect place to go for BBQ and brunch in the gold coast. Walking distance from the Clark/Division red line, you can consistently find the outside area filled with people straight off work. I recommend the baby back ribs, but any of the pulled meats will leave you satisfied."

  • "They talk about the rubs they put on the meat as one element of what makes them special. I have to say, without question, they are speaking the truth. My wife is a big fan of tangy sauces on ribs, we were all boasting about how we didn't even bother with the sauces (we had a choice of 4). Sides were really great too, if you want corn bread or roasted corn to be challenging (spicy), they have that. The manager said we would likely appreciate the serving sizes, and we did take home a few doggy boxes, all good the next day. Big desserts. Great bourbon line up. My best friend and his wife came in from out of town, Q made us look smart."

  • "Food was top-notch. Service was good but the noise level is very high. Disappointed we had a party of 5 that was seated at a 4-top with reservations made a week ahead and several open tables near us. Too crowded to fit all of the plates. When making the reservation with Open Table specifically said it was for a birthday celebration but our server never mentioned it and I did not want to embarrass our guest."

  • "You know when you are quite not at home at a restaurant when as a single diner you are put at the back of beyond near the restrooms. Near 15 minutes to get a drink and another 10 to get the good ordered Nibbles where provided but the chips were not fresh and crispy The Berger was loaded to the hilt which is ok but the plate was too small. Did I need at side, no, as coleslaw was already on the plate! so the waitress had not heeded my question on size correctly. No follow up on the drinks side until the manager did his rounds! Disappointing from a customer satisfaction point of view! So all in all ok but could have done better."

  • "Blech... The BBQ "Flight" with chicken, pork, and brisket reminded me of meats prepackaged at the grocery store. The meat lacked seasoning and taste. The sauces were nothing new. The only positive thing was a side of cornbread. My husband ordered a half rack of ribs, but he ate only half of the half because they lacked taste. I ordered the tuna steak, and it was charred on the outside and completely raw on the inside. Service was horrendous. Our waitress was MIA most of the night, and we were sitting around twiddling our thumbs wondering when she'd be back. When a waitress/waiter did come by it was only to hit our heads with their butt walking by due to cramped seating. The place is loud and full of tourists trying too hard."

  • "Pretty ordinary bbq. "Competition" St. Louis were certainly meaty, but the rub was underwhelming and they were heading toward cold when they hit our table. Kobe brisket is a gimmick that doesn't pay off. At all. Pulled pork was the highlight, but even it wasn't top-tier. Damned adequate, across the board. Service was alternately good and...almost completely absent. Biggest miss, at least in terms of service, was our server (servers, actually) completely forgetting to bring the sauce to our table. Had been curious about Chicago q for quite a while, but don't think there's any need to ever go back. There's far better 'que to bad, even in downtown."

  • "We were recommended the ribs as well as the beans and we were not led astray. The food was very good... Almost as good as what we normally get when we go to Texas but the ambiance was just too nice for BBQ. BBQ is a casual meal... Fingers, hands, and face. This restaurant just felt too formal to eat this type of food comfortably. Brisket was break apart OK... Needed more flavor and perhaps a little more juicy fat. All in all an expensive but tasty meal in a semi-formal atmosphere."

  • "I went to Chicago q the other night for dinner and had a wonderful time. The complimentary chips and pickles that they bring out are delicious and impossible to put down! We ordered the alligator as an appetizer and it was great. For our main entree we order the q3 (pork, brisket, and baby back ribs). The pork and ribs were OUT OF THIS WORLD! The brisket was very disappointing, however. It was cut very thin and not very flavorful. (Good thing we had the sauces!) The service was less than exemplary. Our waitor took a while to come back to get use more drinks. Additionally, it took about an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to come out. That was a little too long for us. All-in-all, we had a wonderful evening and will be back!"

  • "I made a reservation for outdoor dining on OpenTable, and I called about 2 hours before the reservation to move it to 30 mins later. The hostess on the phone was accommodating and pleasant to speak to. When we arrived, we were informed that outdoor seating was first-come, first-serve, which isn't mentioned on OpenTable nor did the hostess on the phone mention it when I called earlier. We went inside to claim our table, but an inside table also wasn't ready. After waiting fifteen minutes, we decided to go and see if outdoor seating was available to us, which it fortunately was, but it was difficult to secure. I wish our reservation meant something...we could have walked in off the street and waited the same time to get a table."

  • "First let me preface this by saying I am a vegetarian so my menu choices are definitely limited. Our brunch was good, but not great. The descriptions make the food sound amazing, but in reality it was less so. My meat-eating boyfriend liked his meal a lot, even though his eggs had rock-hard yolks; my meal was super bland (or on a previous visit super salty) The atmosphere is lovely and the staff were super nice. It's definitely worth a try, especially if you are a meat eater (duh!) and I would go back just for the atmosphere & cocktails =)"
