Diner Reviews
  • "Very unusual for brunch but fun to find something different"

  • "Tried Chicago q for brunch the first time this weekend and was not disappointed. Enjoyed many delicious dinners here in the past and brunch was no different. My only complaint would be too many appealing options on the menu. The carrot cake pancakes were not to be missed! Looking forward to returning soon."

  • "Great place for brunch! The egg bendict flight is something I've never had before and cannot stop dreaming about."

  • "Held my bachelor party dinner there. Just a gathering of the guys for a good dinner and time to catch up. The venue was fantastic, food was incredible and everyone was extremely complementary. Service was top notch, all food items came out exactly when we expected them. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. Thanks for getting the night off on a great note!"

  • "This place is fun to go to, but the barbeque that comes out of my mom's crock pot tastes just as good, if not better than q's. Overpriced and overrated."

  • "I can list the menu here but it is easier for me to write that everything is delicious. Not only is the food well prepared, but the service is attentive withou being pushy. We had a group of ten and they were very accommodating."

  • "This was our first visit to Chicago q and we will definitely be going back. The food was outstanding and the service was also very good. The restaurant was very busy and quite loud, so don't expect to have a quite conversation at Chicago q. Back to the food... the chips and pickles served when you sit down are very good, but don't fill up because the Shredded meats, the ribs and the chicken are amazing. Served with a selection of sauces, you can create your own version of the best BBQ in ChiTown. If you are a BBQ fan, Chicago q is a MUST!"

  • "Best ribs we ever had, and we have been to the famous ones in Chicago. The pickles, chips, and cornbread were also outstanding. Will always go here from now on. The cheesecake was excellent."

  • "We went based on a recommendation from my brother. Very different than a typical BBQ joint. The whiskey selection is off the chart. The food is very good with a wide variety of choices. Four different sauces that are brought to you. The pickles and chips before the meal are incredible! I recommend the watermelon salad as a side dish. Great meal"

  • "We dined with a group that collectively had a variety if food allergies and restrictions and both the waitstaff and chefs were very accommodating. Food was delish. A little loud, but otherwise fab. A recommendation to the restaurant: be able to accommodate your GF patrons for dessert. And serve espresso!"

  • "The restaurant is upscale and classy, but the BBQ is down home and perfect. All of the meat is amazingly tender, perfectly smoked, and bursting with flavor. I never needed BBQ sauce; the smoke and dry rubs were enough! The restaurant also has a large and well-stocked bar, and amazing desserts. I couldn't recommend Chicago q more!"

  • "This is a really classy, upscale barbecue place. The food is fantastic as are the drinks. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. Street parking at a meter is easy too."

  • "We had a reservation for Saturday night and had to wait a bit, but not too bad. We ordered food and drinks at the same time and the food came within 5 minutes, before my glass of wine arrived. It felt a little too fast. For a special night it seemed like we were being rushed out the door a bit. It was also VERY loud. We loved the food and the sauces, though and I would go back. I just wouldn't expect it to be a special date place, necessarily."

  • "Thanks, Chicago q for taking great care of me and my friends on my birthday. We hope the staff loved the red velvet cake!! Personable manager and hostess. Very friendly. The food was AH-MAZING!! Stephen was awesome and would definitely recommend that our friends ask for him if and when they dine there!! Everything was fabulous!!"

  • "The outside of the building is deceiving to the southern flair that awaits you once you are inside. The building is 4x the size it appears to be from the outside. The food and service was very good. I got the platter and my favorite of the meats was the pulled chicken. I cleared the platter to my discomfort. They have a brunch on Sunday but my better senses say to stay way or prepare to experience more discomfort."

  • "At the end of our otherwise fine meal the server dumped an entire glass of water directly in my lap. No apology, no help from anywhere in the restaurant except the table behind me. Concerns me if no one is watching out front then what's going on in the kitchen..."

  • "Love this place! We always have a wonderful meal and service during every visit. It is our go to with in town guests, celebrations and when we stay in the city for holidays. The food is delicious and the ambiance lovely."

  • "Best BBQ around. The pickles and potato chips are perfect starters for the meal. The brunch menu was great – we enjoyed our sides of baked beans and a carrot cake pancake along with the baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwich. The ribs and pork were to die for – super tender and full of flavor. Our server Vickie was wonderful. She recommended the carrot cake and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend Chicago q!"

  • "We had a group of 6 and all really liked all of our food - kobe beef brisket melts in your mouth, the mac & cheese was delicious, the sweet tea was perfect, and the cornbread was great. However there was a continuous push from the wait and server staff to take plates/silverware away as we were eating, and it felt clear that they were rushing us. Not fun, and really awkward at points. I had literally put my fork down on my plate, when a server hustled over and snagged my plate AS he asked if I was finished. Didn't wait to hear a yes or a no from me. I know its good business to turn tables over on a Saturday night, but not at the expense of your diners' experience. So I won't be back, despite the great food."

  • "The service has improved dramatically since the restaurant's early days. It is very noisy, but the food is very good."

  • "My husband and I went here for his birthday and it was great! So much delicious food, starting with the free chips and pickles! We almost got too full on those before we even ordered! They also took care of us for his birthday, as I had mentioned it in the Open Table reservation, and they brought out the cookies and milk platter free of charge. We'll definitely go back again. (Did I forget to mention the BBQ? I think it speaks for itself.)"

  • "Food was great. Staff was nice . They catered to your every need,(im a picky eater). Even brought out special cookies and cake to celebrate our anniversary. I Will be back next year."

  • "This is a great local find. Excellent food--really authentic BBQ--all dry rub--as it should be! Fun side dishes are as good as the meat--which is a nice attention to detail. Very good bar. Family friendly but also as evening gets along a great spot for groups or couples. Highly recommend and we will be back soon."

  • "The food was amazing we had the st. Louise style ribs and pulledpork plate. The meat was cooked to perfection. Great place for sharing plates as they are generous with the portions. A must visit place."

  • "I love q. Actually this was the second time being there in a week and a half. The BBQ is ALWAYS delicious. Always. The service is also great and really friendly. Even the manager was attentive and came by our table multiple times. The chef even made a visit to the table! I'll definitely keep going back, everything is great."

  • "The bourbon selection was excellent. The food was average."

  • "Nice space just off of Division. Food was good, portions large (although two smaller side would have been a nicer option). Bee, wine, whiskey selection good. My only issue was minor. The people who cleaned up the table kept reaching across us to remove items and clean the table. I was uncomfortable. Would go back."

  • "By 6:30 on a Saturday night, the restaurant was hopping. It's a casual and noisy place, teeming with people in their 20s and 30s. Our foursome ranged in age from 40-60. We lived in Texas for many years, so we were excited to try Q. The service was fine, but the food was generally disappointing. The high point was the fried green tomatoes: everyone agreed they were very good. The brisket platter was dry, bald, and served in an unappealing manner. The brisket sandwich looked better, but if it's the same meat (and I think it is), prepare to be disappointed. The BBQ cobb salad was awful. Awful enough that one of us had to do a napkin capture on a bad piece of chicken (maybe it was an eyeball??). We won't return."

  • "We have been to Q before and loved it; our admiration for the place was sealed by the friendliness shown towards our seven-year-old daughter and the milk and cookie surprise for our 20-year-old niece. And then there is the amazing food, of course. Service efficient and you do not wait on food."

  • "Loved it! The food was so good! There were four of us so we got a little bit of everything, and nobody was disappointed. The hushpuppies and fried green tomatoes appetizers were delicious. Between the four dinners we got the brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, and pulled chicken and there were no complaints. The coleslaw was awesome. The mac and cheese was great. Poblano cheddar corn bread was very moist. We boxed up a good portion of dinner so we had room to try their desserts. I loved the strawberry infused cheesecake! YUM! Very soft texture, great strawberry flavor. Others in my group loved the carrot cake. The espresso ice cream was tasty, but huge! A must-share! We will definitely go back! The service was amazing too!"

  • "took several friends here last week with discriminating palates. we all ordered whiskey flights, apps and dinner. st louis ribs were succulent, pulled pork mouth watering, most moist and flavorful brisket ever. crab cake apps had no filler fantastic flavor. hush puppies......yum! single and small batch whiskey flights for everyone. Wathen's and Berkshire were favorites."

  • "Baby backs smoked to perfection so adding Sauce not need despite several nice choice (good for Dipping fries). Classy more upscale devote not a joint but Not stuffy either. Small but buzzy bar. Nice outdoor area but fills fast in good weather. Rooms for groups too."
