A word from Q4 Ristorante on Broadway
Q4 Ristorante by Quattro originally opened on W4th Avenue to unanimous critical acclaim. Over nearly two decades, Q4 has become one of Vancouver’s most beloved and awarded Italian restaurants.

Q4 relocated to its new West Broadway location in May but the iconic Q4 ambiance remains.

At the heart of the Q4 experience is the exceptional cuisine from Central Italy. No visit is complete without an antipasto platter made for sharing. Other menu highlights are Cornish game hen, pistachio crusted sablefish, radicchio bocconcini, and the legendary spaghetti Q4.

Q4 boasts a wine list recognized by Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence, complimented by an extensive list of cocktails featuring prosecco.

New to the neighbourhood, we decided to try out Q4 for dinner. We weren't disappointed! The food was delicious, from the complimentary bread to the appies to the main courses. We were way too full for dessert, next time we're definitely planning less appies so we can enjoy one of the yummy looking desserts. It was quiet (long weekend & pride weekend), and the service was fantastic. Our waiter was great at explaining the different dishes, and was quick to appear before we even realized we needed him. Clearly they only have top-notch staff, and we can't wait to go back with a group of friends next time.

The food used to be exceptional, used to weekly. But recently, I've been disappointed, especially on my past visit. The pasta was so mediocre, my 15 year old son could have made a more elegant one.

Server was friendly and professional but disappeared after we received the entrees. We even walked up to the bartender and gave him our bill, on a weekday when the restaurant was only half full at most. Anyway, for the food, we ordered daily soup, mussels, mixed seafood linguine (which only had salmon… so not "mixed"), lobster carbonara, beef tenderloin and hen. Pastas are okay 3/5 but the entrees, not very good. Tenderloin was tender but very dry. As for the hen, extremely salty and we packed everything but the only leg we ate at the restaurant to make fried rice. Overall, the service could have made up for the below average entrees and perhaps the desserts are good, but we were not offered to even see the menu or asked how the dinner was.

Had a lovely meal at Q4 for Mother's Day. Fabulous fresh pasta, and a nice variety of frittatas and bennies to choose from. Not an extensive menu, but that's brunch. No complaints - Q4 is a very nice restaurant with delicious food. I definitely wanted another bowl of Linguine tartufo. Mmmmm!

Overall it was a tasty experience, but had quite a wait in between. We entered the restaurant and were given our menus to take a look at and our server was kind and nice. The wait was long in between and we had a long discussion (close to an hour) before ordering. Our Starters came and gone. Afterward, it was another 45 minutes to an hour before we were served our food (quite long! If it wasn't for my girlfriend I don't think I would've had the patience). The table next to us (who arrived later than us) had already gotten their bill when our main course arrived. I had the Q4 Spaghetti Special and my girlfriend had the Sablefish. Both were good but nothing phenomenal. What really surprised me was the Sticky Date Pudding. Phenomenal

From out of town we 4 planned to dine in Vancouver on a Friday evening - choose Q4 based on past experience. Got our reservation with OpenTable-worked wonderfully well. We all chose a pasta dish - ranging from rigatoni to spagetti. Preparation and presentation were good; taste and flavours very good. One exception: the gnoochi with pork belly - way too heavy and greasy. So 3 out of 4 relatively satisfied with the food, wine and price point, one disappointed. We'll likely return to sample again.

We went on Valentines Day (late evening, not very busy) which was also my girlfriend's birthday and was expecting to have a nice time but as they say, "never get your hopes up." For some reason, our waiter seemed annoyed to help us. Did not try to engage in any conversation with us. When he brought out our oysters, there weren't any spoons for the condiments and when we asked for them, he responded "Oh you want those?" And not once during our meal, were we ever asked how we were doing or how we were enjoying our meal. My water was filled once. Only when we asked for the bill, did the waiter start asking how our meal was and engaging in conversation with us (because we were about to pay!) Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Four of us dined for a special occasion. Restaurant was not full but we were asked to wait for a larger table and were still seated at a table really too small for four. There were empty tables available. Table was very crowded when dishes and wine started to arrive. Lighting was a bit dim and it was hard to read the menu. Our attentive server used his iphone to help us out. Two of us had the sablefish which was excellent, one had a lobster pasta dish which he loved and the fourth had cornish game hen - again excellent. Deserving of a special note was the valet who topped up the parking meter even though we had not given him the car to valet park. He really made our evening!

It was an unusually quiet night on Super Bowl Sunday, which was wonderful for our small group with some hearing impairment. The Dine Italia food was very good (would have been excellent except that the substituted steak didn't live up to the anticipated veal scallopini), and the service was wonderful, attentive and informative. Will come back.

We had brunch for a birthday celebration on Saturday, Feb 1st, 2014. The food was great, the service was great and we really liked the seating for eight (a round table that helped us have good conversation and dialogue). We saw that the restaurant has two separate rooms for larger groups - we'll be back! I've already recommended to a number of my friends. Thanks!

Enjoyed excellent dinner with friends during dine out. Service seemed a bit short on a Friday night. So late with orders, follow up, etc. ordered martinis and they were not cold? filled with olives, trying to make it look fuller? Meals were all good, although veal could have been more inspired. Pastry desert was delicious. Meals were delivered to the table right after both ladies went to the restroom...if paying attention, might have held them. Or not taken so long that they needed to get up? Also, server was distracted and rushed pouring wine, dripping across the table. Overall, enjoyed the night and will be back. Note: next time we'll use valet parking...better than at meter. And valet was attentive, even tho didn't use them.

Valet/doorman was awesome. Dining service and food quality lacks grade. Sparkling wine was no sparkle and flat as can be with no bubbles. Appetizers and pastas were good. Was out of hot water 1/2 through the dinner but server did not even notice. For this pricing point, service should be better and sparkling wine at $12 for 6oz should be filled with bubbles.

Q4 was disappointing in a number of ways. For some reason there was no host at the door when we arrived and we waited for a server to assist. Nothing really wrong with that, but it seemed strange. Service was quite good overall; attentive and friendly. Food quality and presentation was poor to good at best. The caesar salad was poor indeed; something one might find at White Spot perhaps. The dressing was lacking in flavour and punch, which one expects in a classic Italian salad. Mains were lacking in taste and while acceptable, lacked the flavour and presentation that Q4 seems to represent in its promotion, and did not measure up to the prices, and ultimately that's the bottom line. Q4 is seriously over priced and over rated.

We have been to Q4 before, and had had a good experience. We decided to go for our anniversary this year. We were seated in what seemed at first to be a quiet corner. A group of eight very loud men were near us, making it very noisy and difficult to enjoy our meal. Our server was delightful and considerate. However, the manager kept coming over, rushing us and making us feel very uncomfortable. The lamb pappardelle was dried out and stringy. The scallop gnocchi was mushy. The stuffed calamari with lobster bisque was amazing. Definitely not at their best this time.
