  • "Amazing food and even better service!!! From our appetizer to our desserts, we were still talking about them the next morning. The chairs were super comfortable too!"

  • "Looking for a place to go then then the Prymaid is great for that dining experience. You will find excellent food with a few unusual unusual items to select from then you that will wow you. Service is exceptional. Out waiter Chrispon was superb!!! Likewise the other wait staff were on top of things, filling water, bread plates and clearing tables etc. The only downside was the lemon cake and whiskey cake were not tasty, dry, and not worth 12 dollars each . I would never order a dessert there again. I would go back again ."

  • "Outstanding dining experience. Food was great with a diversified menu. Service was five star. Wine selection and cocktails were very good. I would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a very nice and quiet dining experience."

  • "Thank you to the Pyramid staff for a wonderful evening and dinner. The Lamb Chops were excellent, and I couldn't get enough of the Texas Pecan and Raisin Bread. Hunter came through, as always, providing well thought and delicious wine selections. If you haven't had a chance to delve into this list, you are missing out. There are even some impressive Texas wines that will require a return trip for further review! Thanks again, and see you soon"

  • "The food was ok in my book, my husband enjoyed his meal he had the scallops for appetizer and the Duck Breast. I liked mine but it could have been more tasty. I had short ribs and they had no flavor other than meet flavor, don't know if they used carrots and celery and other herbs in the long cooking process but it was bland and the the polenta that should have come with it was sparse. The Israeli cous cous was ample. I have had better at the Tower Club. The bar was hopping and I could see the food being brought to the bar crowd and it looked good. Burgers etc. Service was good. • "Service was topnotch. Food was bland and boring. Sad to say it's "hotel food" past it' heyday with so many other great choices in Dallas."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Food lacked flavor. The scallops were fishy and rubbery. The strawberries in the dessert appeared to be frozen. The Beet salad hardly had any beets and then they tasted canned......."

  • "Much longer than I care to admit, the food at the Pyramid used to be outstanding. We were celebrating a birthday a few weeks ago and thought we would give it a try again. The flat bread was fine and the lobster bisque was nothing to rave about. However, much to my surprise the shrimp and grits were excellent. We finished the meal with an apple treat. The presentation was very cute, but I think it should have been served warm and it left us wishing we had ordered something else. The service was still top notch and all in all we had a delightful time."

  • "My (retired) husband and I enjoy 'date lunches' and this place fit the bill. Nice atmosphere, elegant, quiet, good food, good wine, and good service. The food was beautifully presented. My kale and watercress salad was just slightly dull without any added protein (I am vegetarian) but still was creative and tasty. He loved the lobster roll although he would have enjoyed just a little more food. Surprisingly, he even ate the frissee salad it was presented with! We will go back."

  • "Apparently the staff is not happy about the TravelZoo voucher as our waiter telescoped his disdain the entire evening. The food was fine, but his attitude put a damper on the evening. Note to management: If you are going to offer these types of promotions, the staff needs to be on board."

  • "As a local that dines out often, we wanted to try the pyramid room out one night. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The food was uneventful. Confirming the fact that the hotel hasn't changed its commitment to creating a Dallas destination spot for dinners. The appetizers were mediocre and the entrees were just as uninspiring. The rack of lamb seemed to be the best choice for dinner. Service was hotel friendly. They knew we were there but just did the minimum. We didn't last till desert."

  • "It was on Sunday night but there was only one waiter so it took times to order / food / bill. Also food was under cooked a little. Billing was not accurate too."

  • "This place was very good. We didn't get to try out the actual menu since they were doing a 5 course dinner for Valentines Day, but everything was superb and I can only assume they do the same quality of food on their normal menu. The service here is really 5 stars. They use your name the entire time you are there and they are all about making you happy."

  • "The food was a great disappointment. The bison was not well seasoned and lacked flavor. The fish was extremely greasy and did not taste of anything. Dessert was frozen. What an embarrassment for the Fairmont."

  • "My boyfriend and I received a TravelZoo voucher as a gift. We were given $125 to spend on any food; we actually fell quite a bit short of reaching that total. We had the mussels as an appetizer and the duck and bison as entrees. All of the food was amazing and we were actually full and had to pass on even sharing a dessert. We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday and the restaurant really began to fill when we were leaving. We had a great experience at Pyramid."

  • "I asked for a wine selection and was told a certain wine. Shame on me for not asking the price, but I would never have chosen a $27 glass of wine for just something to have with dinner."
    Dined on 1/16/2014
  • "Three course prix fixe for $49 is a good value. Food was very good, especially for a hotel restaurant. Good wine list. We used a Travel Zoo promotion which made it an outstanding value."

  • "My girlfriend and I had our one year anniversary dinner here, which also happened to be New Years Eve. The food was excellent, from appetizer to desert. Bison was very good, and the 20 year port we had with desert was amazing. Service was good, attentative but not too much so. It wasn't noisy at all and we stayed for over three hours. Great experience."

  • "The mussels dish for an apppetizer was excellent. The chorizzo added a tad of saltiness to the dish but the grilled French bread toasts made it bearable. The short rib entree was absolutely a delight, cooked to melt in your mouth goodness. The polenta side had a good texture and cooked to perfection. The bison special was cooked well but lost it's warmness halfway through the meal. The pasta side dish was well done, creamy and smooth. The Muscato wine recommended by the house sommelier was excellent and was a great complement to the meal. The dessert was a little dry but the did not deter from the overall wellness of the meal."

  • "First time visitors but we will be back. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Wine list is awesome. Some uncommon and hard to find bottles. The shortrib was so tender you did not need a knife. The lamb was exceptional. Great place for a romantic dinner."

  • "Lauded on the web by a variety of sources, Pyramid was disappointing and as a result I cancelled a second reservation for later in the week."

  • "A visit to the Pyramid is always a treat. In my view it would be even better, if I did not have the knowledge of the excellence of years gone by. Dining habits have obviously changed, and rock solid establishments have often acquiesced to many diners abandonment of formality. The Pyramid historically has been rock solid in presentation, quality and especially service. While its still possible to make special requests, some of the new offerings don't embrace the gold standard set by the Pyramid in terms of preparation and presentation. Its one thing for the food to look good or appealing but it also needs to have some connection to the substance that is the foundation for its legacy. Thankfully service still survives."

  • "Had not been there for many years, but remembered the dimmer, more intimate atmosphere from the past. While the service was impeccable and the food very good, the ambiance was disappointing. The open space made it feel like we were dining in the hotel lobby. The adjacency to the bar made for too much background noise. The dress code was listed as "business casual" however there were several diners wearing jeans. All in all, there are too many other choices of places to dine with better ambiance, a trendier crowd, good food and a lot less expensive."

  • "Didn't realize restaurant was located in a hotel (Fairmont). I'm not usually a fan of hotel eateries but this one was excellent. Menu was interesting and offered varied choices. Service was very good and waiter was very knowledgable of the kitchen."

  • "I enjoyed my dinner at Pyramid. I had the 3 course dinner which was an nice option. The choices for courses were varied. Each course was good, just not as innovative as I was expecting. The best part of the meal was the attention the sommelier gave to my wine selection. He even went so far as to research a question on grapes and bring it to me at the table. Most don't bother."

  • "A Sunday night in a hotel restaurant was very quiet. Only two tables occupied in the entire place. We had excellent service and all four of us enjoyed our meals. The only thing missing from the menu were some shareable appetizers for our group that we could have enjoyed with our cocktails. We all had excellent meals. Our waiter even made my mother blue cheese stuffed olives for her martinis! That's service."

  • "Few hotel restaurants get praise from me. This one is exceptional. A lovely space and great people. The food was outstanding and the wine list had a remarkable range of styles and taste as well as price. My wife and I will return when we are next in Dallas."

  • "Great food with great service. The staff was excellent and made sure we were happy. Appetizers were to die for...try the beef tartare. Pricey food...its not somewhere that you would frequent but would go on special occassions."

  • "we had a wonderful dinner with our young girls. we were staying in the hotel so decided to give it a try. the food was fantastic and the waitstaff was very attentive but not annoying. the kids meals were very well priced (except a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce was $8.00, $2.00 more than their meal) the vegetables that came with my quail were done perfectly, i enjoyed them more than the quail. My husband had the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. flavorful and crispy on outside and tender on inside.! the atmosphere is a little lacking."

  • "Our waiter was wonderful, but the food was not what I had hoped it would be. It's not on par with any of the area hotels that offer fine dining. The Fairmont was rather disappointing overall, I would not recommend it. I would stay at the Crescent Court next next time."

  • "We had not visited Pyramid Restaurant is a long time, and we were glad to return. And, quite pleased with the quality, style, and taste of all of the menu selections. The service was friendly, and attentive. Would recommend."

  • "We were so well taken care of it was amazing. They called me by name the entire evening and they were totally attentive but not hovering. The Sommelier visted and asked me what I was considering. He applauded the choices (one red and one white) even though they weren't overly pricey and knew everything about each bottle."

  • "The chicken liver moose appetizer was quite tasty. The breads were all tasty. The mushroom soup was yummy. The stuffed chicken breast tasted like barbecued chicken, not all that great. The Napoleon wasn't quite right, it was soggy so difficult to cut, but the white chocolate frosting was tasty. Expecting more from The Pyramid Room. Restaurant Week has allowed us to determine which restaurants to go back to and which ones to bypass. Y.O, III Forks and Silver Fox we will go back to, probably won't go back to The Pyramid Room."

  • "We went to Pyramid for their Restaurant Week menu. The food was alright...nothing special. My fiance and I were celebrating our recent engagement and thought we were going to a nice, romantic restaurant. The ambiance is anything but romantic as we were practically in the hotel lobby. The one good thing I can say is that the service was great. Overall the experience isn't what we expected. I can't speak to their regular menu, but with so many other amazing restaurants in Dallas, we probably won't bother coming back to Pyramid."

  • "The Pyramid has long been a personal favorite, an oasis downtown that unfortunately was downgraded to a grill atmosphere from the previous fine-dining Dirona award winning meccae enjoyed for a generation. While the room lacks the elegance and polish of the past, the food has kept up with the times, and the wines are outstanding. The service is outstanding, be sure to ask for Kim if dining during the day. The kitchen uses a wide array of locally sourced foods, and the rooftop garden furnishes herbs, and other items used in food preparation. There are a few hidden gems that are not advertised but available with advance notice."
