Never been to Puttanesca before, although I've lived in NYC for 34 years. But they were able to accommodate a party of 7 on a Saturday night with reservations made on Friday. Food was fine, noise was way too much. We were at a round table and it felt a bit crowded. Waitress was pleasant and accommodating. This is a good standard to know about in the area. Not really a special occasion place, but good to know that they are an option.

The french toast was good; it was nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. It satisfied my brunch cravings yet did not wow me. I would be happy eating the french toast here again but would try new brunch places before going back here. The service was friendly, but I got a feeling the friendliness was a bit put on.

Do not eat here for brunch. The chicken sandwich I had was possibly the worst sandwich I have ever had. The chicken was burned and black in many places, as was the bread. The fries were too starchy. The service was fine; just please change the chef!

I was invited for dinner by three colleagues, and our dinner was memorable. We shared two appetizers (mozzarella freshly made and mozzarella in carozza), and each had a great entree (two lasagnas, and two veal piccata with spinach) which were excellent. We had a bottle of Dolcetto which was also very good, and then we shared desserts: tiramisu and chocolate souffle. Our dinner was celebratory and our waiter and our wine expert were both helpful and very enthusiastic. A great dinner!

Had lunch at Puttanesca on Saturday March 31 - pre-theatre- with my sister and 11 year old neice. It was wonderful. The staff is very attentive and professional and the food was divine. We ended lunch by sharing the chocolate souffle - a delight! Highly recommend this - affordable and delicious. The entrance into the bar area is charming with brick walls and wooden beams - my neice was enchanted with the lovely crystal chandaliers in the dining room. We sat right next to the window with a great view for people watching - and dog watching as its fairly close to the park. A great find!

I have been going to Puttanesca for years. This restaurant is consistently great when it comes to food and wonderful staff. Their signature pasta puttanesca is amazing. The deserts are excellent also.
