His passion for wines and food parings, it made our dining experience that much better, his service was excellent! He even took the time to write down all the wines that were my favorites so I can remember them for next time! As usual the Lobster Mac and Cheese has never disappointed with big chucks of lobster meat. The beef tartare was not quite what I had expected, was a bit disappointed, maybe too much aioli & an overpowering pickled vinegar taste that took away from the beef. But CT's recommendation for the spicy prawns to go with the Riesling was great! The seating is very close which is a little distracting. The wait staff is very busy so don't expect frequent check in during the meal. Nice place to people watch, particularly during holiday, prom or wedding seasons. Although he didn’t know the wine list, he quickly brought over another staff member who was quite familiar with the wine and recommended an excellent Malbec. Our food was served warm, displayed beautifully and a personal recommendation would be the crab cake appetizer. Delicious! The only drawback is the waiting area. There is no place to wait for your table and guest must stand outside or in the isle near other guests tables. The front desk and wait staff went to great lengths to make sure our dinner was an enjoyable event, but made sure we were off to a concert on time without feeling rushed. The staff is clearly educated on the details of the wine list and helpful with deciding which wines pair best with the combination of plates ordered. I had a wine flight of 4 that stood on it's own, yet did not over power the food. Both my husband and I ordered the filet mignon and they were cooked perfectly, med-rare. The squash puree was a smart counterpoint to the saltiness in the seasoning of the beef. We told her we wanted to share their special lobster mac & cheese dish and their duck dish so they brought out nicely split plates for my wife and I. I tried the Washington/French wine flight. I thought both wine locales were good but my wife liked the French wines better. We had the espresso cheesecake - very good. I tried the Washington state Grappa. OK both Oregon and Washington have a bit to learn from the Italian Grappa makers. Purple offers Italian grappas too. Their selection is great. We really enjoyed out dinner.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
