My two girlfriends and I had dinner at Purple Cafe & Wine Bar (Seattle location) on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately and the service was good. The food was okay but wasn't horrible. Not a great place for vegetarians - only one thing on the menu that I could order. Overall, a fun time out.

We met friends at Purple after going to the theater to see "Ballroom with a Twist." Wonderful appetizers, salads, entrees, wines, drinks, desserts. A fun matinee followed by a perfect meal made it a wonderful Saturday. The ferry home was late but we reveled in the line, joyous and satiated, so grateful for such a nice dining experience. I am definitely going back to try the lobster mac and cheese that our friend loved so much....and my husband was in heaven with the lamb meatballs. I really liked my duck dish, too; the figs were amazing....but it needed some greens on the plate.

I have never been to Seattle before and selected Purple based on Open Table reviews and proximity to our hotel. It was a great choice. I had the blistered green beans to start followed by a crab, mushroom and corn pasta which was superb. Our waiter was very knowledgable about food and wine pairings and brought us a number of wines to sample. It was a very nice experience.

My group and I went for a joint birthday luncheon. We took my six year old son which I was a bit nervous about. The waitress made my son feel like a king from the moment we sat down. In fact all of us felt like royalty as we feasted on the most mouth watering dishes. Long story short we left that afternoon planning our next visit and discussing all of the friends we wanted to share this magical experience with it.

The Purple cafe is a 4 star food and wine restaurant. To that end, you are greeted by a two story circular wine tower as you enter the restaurant, and the wine list reflects it There were numerous wine flight options. One was specifically a cheese and wine paring, and several were varieties of reds and whites with tongue and cheek descriptions of the flight. Our server was highly engaged in the process of selection of both food and wine, and referred to choices as " my" vs " the" when referring to choices. The food choices reflected the wine expertise. Downsides ?The cement floors, Two story ceilings , and open layout make for a noisy environment. Would I return ? You bet..... Looking forward to it !

Very busy & noisy when we walked in, but we were seated upstairs and it was quieter and easier to have a conversation at the table without yelling. Have been to this restaurant twice now in the past few days and absolutely LOVE the Shrimp and Frites!! The Moroccan butter sauce on the shrimp is to die for and can't get enough of it. Even though it is on the appetizer menu it is enough for an entrée portion. Every item we got for the two visits we had was excellent and can't wait to stop by again.

The 3 of us went for dinner from our hotel Motif Seattle after a very long day of travel and exploring Seattle. We wanted someone else to start making decisions, we had the crab cakes as an appetizer, the Alaskan king salmon special, paired with an Oregon Pinot noir, followed by salt chocolate covered caramels. It was all awesome.

I have been to Purple many times. I go back because I typicallly have a great meal. If last night's meal was my first visit to Purple I would not return. I ordered the filet mignon with Walla Walla red wine pairing and it was the worst pairing I have experienced. I ordered the almond bread pudding and it was dry and bland with an accompaniment of a plum compote that was truly below any Purple standard I have experienced. There are too many really great restaurants in Seattle for Purple to serve these kinds of meals.

Was in town for a night, and went for an anniversary dinner. Food was delicious, wine flights a lot of fun (especially to discover local varietals), and waitress really nice. Had the famous lobster mac and cheese (did not disappoint!), and quinoa salad. The kitchen forgot our appetizer, which wasn't a big problem since we were stuffed anyway. But to make up for it they graciously offered us a dessert. We'll be back!

We stopped in for dinner and drinks before a concert and were pleasantly surprised. Casual, clean and inviting atmosphere with a very friendly staff from the greeting at the door through the entire meal service. The menu offered a variety of delicious and beautifully plated appetizers and entrees. We ordered salads and several appetizers in order to try more of everything since it was difficult to choose from all the wonderful choices. Our server asked if we were in a rush and because we weren't, she was nice enough to have each of our dishes come out individually so it became a wonderful tasting experience to complement the flight of wine we ordered.

My husband and I had eaten at the Bellevue location several times and were incredibly pleased with our experiences. At the Seattle location we were placed very close to two other couples, one of which was arguing. The menu was sadly different than Bellevue's. The calamari wasn't nearly as good and they don't offer the same steak. We will definitely keep this in mind the next time we are choosing a restaurant.

Honestly, their food tastes amazing. From the presentation to the taste to the very last bite, pretty much perfection. I ordered the choose 3 lunch and the only complaint I have is the cauliflower soup which I normally love here was very bland. Ok, one more complaint...their in house made sodas....wow, weird! Tried the balsamic and strawberry...tastes like your drinking balsamic vinegar! Other than that...my dining party ordered the special duck con-fit pasta special and the other ordered the crab pasta on the menu. Both finished the whole thing so think it was good. Commentary on the Duck special was is lacked flavor and pizzazz but they like the shredded duck as the strong flavor was not overbearing.

Our first night in Seattle and found this little gem. Loved the food with the wine paring, started with a bake brie that was awesome. The serving staff knew what wines to suggestion if you did not go with paring, and ended with a strawberry shortcake soaked in balsamic, unbelievabling great.
