Diner Reviews
  • "We were visiting from the UK and I made a reservation for my husbands 40th Birthday. Not knowing NYC, I just took a gamble with a Google search. We were not disappointed, the service was very good and all staff really friendly. The food and it's presentation were amazing, really delicious and we could not fault it, we both really enjoyed it. We were with our 2 year old daughter and the staff accommodated to her needs of a small portion of pasta, she fell asleep while were dining and one of the waiters boxed it up for us to take back to our hotel. Our daughter woke at 2am and was hungry, so the pasta came in handy. There was a nice vibrant atmosphere."

  • "Fairly good food; the appetizers/small plates were better than the main courses in terms of quality. My mahi mahi was one of the most expensive things on the menu and, unfortunately, extremely over salted."

  • "I made a reservation here for 4 for brunch because it was close to Eataly, and we were taking friends there who had never been. While we were greeted warmly, I was a little concerned because it was pretty empty when we arrived. But that changed after being there for about a half-hour and it was full of happy people. Amongst the four of us, we had grits with fried eggs, bacon AND sausage--yum! We also had the chorizo hash with fried eggs, and the veggie burger. All were very good. My only complaint was the beer list is really limited--I ended up with Budweiser, which is fine, but when so many good brunch places have good beer lists, too, this was a disappointment. My friends enjoyed the pear bellinis. Our server was very sweet."

  • "We were a group of 6 and were seated right away. We ordered most of the appetizers for the group and they were all excellent. The entrees were also all very good. The only negative for Punch is the service was fairly slow. Since we were a group and were not in a hurry, it wasn't a big deal. However, we did have to ask more than once to have drinks refilled and it took a long time for the drinks to come. This does not apply to the busboy who was right there to fill water and clear plates. Overall a every good experience."

  • "fortunately I was there for a lunch business meeting, the service staff afforded us plenty of time through their many absences. Food was ok. I over tipped because we occupied the table so long because of the staff absense and slow delivery of food."

  • "Went here based in reviews and the fact that they took brunch reservations. Great decision! Food is excellent. I had the steak in red wine sauce and eggs... YUM!!! Staff was friendly and informative. Bottomless brunch for $35 is worth every penny. Mimosas and bellinis were good and unlimited for 1.5 hours. The muffin basket and apricot and strawberry preserves were delicious. I have found my go-to Sunday brunch spot!!"

  • "My boyfriend and I came here for a very early dinner. It was our second time and we were not disappointed. The servers were great and gave us the dinner menu when we asked even though we arrived early at 5. The first time we dined here, we loved the skirt steak and sweet potato fries. This time, we ordered the pork, which was supposed to be pork tenderloin but they only had pork chop and it was AMAZING. It was a huge piece of pork chop with a BBQ sauce and my boyfriend finished the whole thing. I had the pappardelle bolognese and I enjoyed it but it was nothing special. Overall, we love PUNCH and would definitely dine there again."

  • "We love Punch, always feels warm and fuzzy. Bartenders are nice, attentive and interesting to talk to. Fells like "home away from home" like eating with family. Thanks!"

  • "I always like punch, besides it being a little too loud (because it's quite popular) they always have a good selection of wine and the food is delicious. We usually go during the week, and if you're just going for a drink in the bar they have a late happy hour until eight."

  • "Three of us have been coming to Punch regularly. the service is polite and prompt. the first courses are interesting and creative (the Korean chicken wings weer inspired!) and the main courses were delicious. Great place to go if you are attending one of the two theatres in the area."

  • "A very cozy and pretty little place. Hosts were very welcoming! They sat me even though I came early and twice, the adorable server wanted to know if I needed anything ( and graciously served me coffee!) The food was delicious- my friend had the veggie burger and I had the strada of goat cheese, asparagus, prociutto- delicious. Got a coffee refill nicely- when our terrific server left, her replacement never came over after dessert menus were put down so we ended up not ordering anything. I would have also liked a little more coffee- on the other hand, we were talking a lot and it was nice not to be pressured to leave- one check in would have been good though! But overall- really nice brunch and will be back!"

  • "Punch is a great place to meet friends for brunch. But dinner recently was also very nice. The staff is accommodating, warm and professional. The food is reliable. I will always recommend Punch."

  • "Lovely, cozy spot. Wine was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for lunch with a co-worker. I had the tuna nicoise; the tuna was WONDERFUL, but the green beans were almost frozen solid. It was a cold day, so bread pudding, which was recommended by the server, sounded like a great treat. It was less of a treat and more like eating drying cement with raisins and cranberries...eeek. go for lunch and drinks and just steer clear of "dessert.""

  • "came here with a group of girlfriends for our monthly dinner date. waitress came by quickly to get our drink order but then she hardly ever came back. food was ok but not outstanding. it was at least easy to get a reservation for a group of 5 the day before."

  • "We went there for my friends surprise birthday dinner on a Tuesday night. The staff was great! very accommodating because 1) our reservation number kept changing, 2) let me decorate our table and 3) sang a beautiful rendition of happy birthday! The waitress was super sweet! The food was also great! We ordered some appetizers to share and each had our on entree but shared that as well. String bean app was my favorite! I had a scallop special which was delicious! While I have never experienced, some of the friends who came to the birthday dinner also said this place was awesome for brunch! I def plan on going back to try it!"

  • "I always enjoy Punch for the food and the feel of the place. On our most recent visit, a 6 pm table on a Sunday, the service was uncharacteristically slow and the reason was obvious - one, obviously multi talented woman was responsible for hosting, bartending, and waiting. Maybe management should provide her a little backup? As always, the tempura green beans were delicious."

  • "Punch was recommended for a night out w/ my gfs visiting. Arrived early for our res & was seated immediately which was nice. 1 guest from our party had not yet arrived. We perused the menu & chatted for 15-20 mins before server came back. I had to ask whether we could order drinks rather than her asking. Our drinks were delish - the blood orange cocktail & margarita. Our guest arrived, 10-15 min passed before server came back to take her drink order. Waited another 10 min until the drink arrived. Had to say HEY we'd like to order food now. Food was great but overall service was terrible. Seemed there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant. It may have been an off night for this place but I will be apprehensive to return as a result."

  • "I have been working in Gramercy for the past 2 years and never stepped into Punch. I checked out the menu for brunch and was sold! It was everything I was expecting, from great service to food. The drinks were also nice and gave me the right buzz. I will be back soon!"

  • "We were group of 7 ladies celebrating a friend's last night in town. The restaurant had nice décor and great vibe. It was very accommodating when we asked to rush the food order because we also had another reservation afterwards. The food was good, overall. The shredded chicken quesadilla appetizer was delicious, as was the lobster spaghetti and the hangar steak. The tuna tartar and the mushroom ravioli were lacking a little flavor- they were a bit bland. Two of us ordered turkey burgers and they were good- the sweet potato fries were amazing! We all enjoyed the cocktails and had a great time!"

  • "Very interesting menu and delicious food. We've been back since this initial visit and it was still good but not as impressive as the first time around."

  • "The brunch selections were varied and inventive. But how do you serve a $20 eggs and lobster benedict that has a lukewarm soggy english muffin and no Hollandaise? Envied my friends' meals as they looked and tasted great. Been here in years past, so I know they are usually reliable."

  • "I took a friend to Punch for drinks and appetizers who visiting NYC. We both loved it. Ordered the potato skins and fried calamari which were equally good. The potato skins were very tasty, and a more sophisticated version of what you may have encountered. The ambience was nice and the open doors allowed a nice breeze inside. I always feel pressure to choose just the right place when entertaining out of town visitors. I was pleased as...well, Punch...with my decision to go here."
