We love places that are local to the area and not chains. It was very lively and relaxed and had some of the best Southern food we have ever eaten. Breakfast (The Leipers Fork) on another trip was very good and hit the spot before my trek around town.
Recent trip before Ryman show - Shrimp and Grits was every bit of delicious, not too spicy and very flavorful. Will order that again.
BarBQue on another trip was very good also.
A Must try experience if you are looking for down home comfort food, reasonably priced. Only complaint was the acoustics were not good for the band that started playing halfway through our meal. Would have liked to be able to understand what they were singing. I am glad we made our Open Table reservations prior to going, as we got there and the wait was over an hour! With our reservations, we were seated within a few minutes, getting a table right by the stage.
Our server was polite and informed, providing some great recommendations of popular and tasty items. We started with fried green tomatoes, served with a bacon ranch dipping sauce .We both had veggie burgers for the entree - VERY good. Serving sizes are large, definitely could be split if you wanted to save room for dessert - which we didn't :(

The waitstaff was friendly and super accommodating, and no rush to get you out the door. The band they had playing was so great, I even picked up a CD. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, you can actually buy groceries there! The volume is kind of high from the live band, but not so loud that you can't hear each other talk. But most importantly, the food was very tasty. My table got the fried chicken trifecta (aka all 3 fried chicken options on the menu: chicken & waffles, southern fried chicken, and chicken fried chicken), and they were all great. My chicken was juicy & moist with a perfect crispy exterior. The fried pickles were awesome too. The location chosen was based on the food, the proximity to TPAC, and we wanted a restaurant unique to Nashville. Two of us had the Southern Fried Chicken, which was fabulous and one had the Prime Rib and really enjoyed that. The kiddos had chicken tenders and grilled cheese sandwiches, which pleased them. The wine list was small, but we enjoyed our selections. My sister said the sweet tea was great. Two of us had the warm apple pie with ice cream for dessert while I shared the homemade chocolate ice cream with my kiddo. We all enjoyed every bite! Our server was efficient and polite. Charly, our server, was excellent. She handled five weary teachers very well. The highlight for me was the Nana's size cobbler. Cherry happened to be the flavorof the day. It hit the spot. The atmosphere here is always fun. I have been there for every meal and a show. It is consistently fun.

The menu offered a nice range of options -- both in selection and prices. It was our first visit to this Puckett's location, though we have visited the Boathouse and Leiper's Fork locations many times. We will definitely make a return visit. The service here was great- a step above the good service at other Puckett's in town. I had the strawberry salad with chicken and it was great. The spinach dip also gets a thumb up.
