Service was friendly and quick - Jessie was our waitress. The restaurant was crowded, but that is normal. We loved the relaxed, family atmosphere, food, music, and customer service. I will definitely bring future guests here again or go alone. The menu offered a nice range of options -- both in selection and prices. It was our first visit to this Puckett's location, though we have visited the Boathouse and Leiper's Fork locations many times. We will definitely make a return visit. Make a reservation and request a booth if you want to be out of the crowd of tables in the middle. Music didn't start til 8pm (supposed to start at 7pm) but great live music once it got started. Our first visit to Nashville and all 4 of us loved the choice! Also make sure you are hungry - big portions! Fantastic first taste of real southern food!!! We read previous reviews about Puckett's and decided to stop in. We're so glad we did! The smell of smoked food welcomed us as we stepped in the doors. We had local brewed beers, which were good, and the fried green tomatoes were FANTASTIC! Seriously, F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C! Chicken and waffles were alright, but the BBQ plater was very tasty AND filling. Live entertainment just rounded out the whole experience to make it a place we'd go again in a heartbeat. The food was wonderful, rolls were fresh and appeared homemade. It was a crowded night with live music which was a bit loud for dinner conversation, but it was part of the atmosphere! I had the chicken & waffles, my fiance had the prime rib and noted it was okay, my parents split a BBQ plate, and my sister enjoyed her heaping serving of shrimp & grits (her first time!). Her favorite part of the meal was the whiskey/Cheerwine drink. The pecan pie was said to be pretty good by my mom and sister. I would definitely recommend the sausage and cheese appetizer as well. My fiance and I live in Nashville, but my family came from NC to experience some well-know hot spots to eat. It was all of our first time eating there. The food is delicious! The staff is welcoming and courteous. The atmosphere is very comfortable. My husband and I have come in for dinner, and dinner and a show several times. I have also come in with friends on a girls' night out. Arrived and was seated directly in front of the door way not to the sides but directly in front of the door way........ It was very busy ( as usual because it's a beautiful place to eat) but it was cold and windy especially when the door was open more often than not ....
BUT in saying that once it was brought to the attention of the staff ..... They totally agreed and apologized and we were quickly reseated .

We started with the fried green beans and a generous platter almost beat the beers to our table. The menu gives homage to Southern Iconic, but the kitchen puts a twist on everything from apps to entrees (chicken-fried done right, prime rib on weekends, many others), sides (bacon-wrapped clusters of green beans - nice) and desserts (recommend the excellent blueberry cobbler and hot chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet, each liberally covered in ice cream).
