Publick HouseNice "old" feel with OK foodThe restaurant is beautiful with lots of old woodwork and details. The service was great. The food, however, was just OK.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot diverse affordableGreat spot diverse affordable menu! Bakery is amazing , pecan rolls too:)5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHistoric and charmingHistoric, charming, and comfortable venue. Our group of 6 adults ate in one of the upstairs dining rooms, not the pub. Food was very good, service was excellent, wait staff very friendly and attentive. Pecan rolls as good as I remembered from childhood family visits.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMComfort Food At Its BestThe Publick House defines comfort food. The tradition of good, reasonable priced food, continues. Finally a place that doesn't need to add an additional drizzle or extra something or other to impress. The sticky buns just add to the experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Inn that still does it correctlyA Country Inn that does not try to be anything but what it should be. Food is country inn classic, generous portions, great service. The on premises bakery assures the extras are always fresh. A must stop if you are in the area.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat comebackThis restaurant had gone down in quality a few years back and therefore we stopped coming to it. We recently returned and it was like the previous owners had returned. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The large breadbasket had once again returned. It was a real pleasure to come back again2/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to the Publick HouseWe went to the Publick House for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. Food was delicious food - comfort food to a T! There was a wedding going on that afternoon as well as a busy bar scene down in the Tavern. Definitely a happening place that day and overall, nice experience.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surroundings that fitNice surroundings that fit into the OSV theme. Service and food were great and had some entertaining tails of past visitors to the inn including George Washington. Had a wonderful Valentine celebration. Only minor thing was getting to the dining room is a bit of a maze, but once there it was well worth it.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPublick House lunchIf you are into historic places to eat this is the place for you. The service was great. I have been before and the food is simple yet delicious however, this time the food was just good. The lobster mac and cheese not quite up to par. A bit on the expensive side. Desserts are delicious. The cherry cheesecake cupcake-yummy!1/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Publick House never disappointsThe Publick House never disappoints! But the most wonderful aspect of dining at the Publick House is the 18th century ambiance, the incredible history of the buildings and the beautiful way they have maintained and decorated them. It is a bit of time travel as well as wonderful food.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Slow service.Great food. Slow service. Could only select 3:30 to 4:00 PM reservation time. There were still plenty of empty tables when we left after 5PM.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMIt's been several years sinceIt's been several years since I've been to the Publick House, and I was delighted to find it as wonderful as in the past. The food is good basic food, and portions are generous. It was great to see some new menu additions too.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a wonderful familyWe enjoyed a wonderful family holiday lunch. The Old New England atmosphere was perfect and the holiday decorations were just beautiful! The kids especially loved the gingerbread house!12/22/2012 12:00:00 AMOur dinner at the PublickOur dinner at the Publick House coincided with a visit to Sturbridge Village's "Christmas by Candlelight." We dined at the Publick House last year during the same event and vowed to repeat it this year. Our waiter was helpful, professional and, managed to meet our dining needs in a friendly and efficient manner without interrupting us every five minutes. The food was delicious, hot, and served promptly (loved the wine list and bread basket!) The ambience lends itself to the true historic New England experience, complete with brightly burning fireplaces, candlelit windows and beautifully appointed rooms. Dining at the Publick House was the perfect addition to our festive evening in Sturbridge.12/15/2012 12:00:00 AM
