Diner Reviews
  • "Waiter knew very little of menu, needed to read descriptions off of note cards. Poor guy was unprepared, not his fault... The beer was great, sculpin IPA, but at its highest price, a pint should be 7 dollars.... At public house, 10 bux... Food was less than great... We will never go back, but you may give it a shot... Who knows, even a broken clock is right twice a day! "

  • "The meal my wife and I had on our recent business trip was fantastic. We ordered a few appetizers, a couple of drinks, and a few entrees, and everything was absolutely perfect. The service was superb. That was the best meal that I have had in Vegas to date!"

  • "Delicious food and awesome selection of beer (though disappointing that some beers on the menu we're not available). Waiter was knowledgable and engaging. Biggest problem here is the noise....just too damn loud. Lost my voice trying to shout at my table mates 3 feet away."

  • "My husband and I decided to try lunch here after hearing about their vast beer offerings. He was very happy with his Belgian beer flight and was able to receive a sample of one of their newest in-house offerings We both ordered sandwiches which were not only delicious (particularly the prime rib) but were extremely generous portions. Our server allowed us to take as long as we needed while choosing our selections and was very helpful. I would absolutely dine here again."

  • "We were really excited about trying this restaurant. Upon arrival we were seated quickly and then found out they didn't have our favorite beer anymore. It was explained to us that Shiner no longer made it. Umm, not true. Starting with wings: they were good but very messy. Dinner: Hubby had a burger and I had short ribs. Burger was okay and the ribs tasted like pot roast but the carrot puree was very good. Overall, I wasn't impressed. Our server was very nice but being crammed into a small section next to another full table in a room of empty seats was not our idea of comfort. We were in Vegas for the weekend celebrating our 18th anniversary and they did bring out ice cream for the occasion. Very nice gesture but it didn't save this meal."

  • "Extremely high quality food preparation -- better than we expected from an upscale pub. Very attentive service, but not aggressive. Interesting selection of beers on tap. Nice ambiance, particularly considering it is inside a mall. This was the best overall dining experience our group of six -- two fifty-somethings and four twenty-somethings -- had in Vegas, and all of our dining experiences there were good."

  • "Food is good but vegas-expensive. The list of draft beers would embarrass any self-respecting brew pub in Cleveland. But if your idea of exotic beer is Sam Adams, or Guinness, or some half-hopped "IPA", this might be the place for you."

  • "Reserved table for convention meeting with the guys. Wanted more the everyday bar food, yet casual with a touch of class. Beer choices wowed everyone. This place had it all."

  • "I took some important business clients here for a more casual but upscale casual dining experience Our server was arrogant, and my steak was very overdone. By the time my corrected Order came back, my entire party was finished with their meals. HOWEVER, the manager Came to the table to make amends for the mishaps on the service/meal. He was very gracious And did comp. my meal and actually took care of our table the rest of the evening. The rest of Our group said the food was good."

  • "Food and service were excellent. It was very loud in the restaurant. Fortunately, there were 8 of us and we had a very nice private room which was quiet."

  • "Went for dinner on a weekday. Food was great. Shortribs and burger were a hit. Pate was a little weird in that it was very sweet instead of savory. The bar was full, and the dining room was half full. I was one of only two women in the entire restaurant not including any of the staff. Definitely appeals to the male demographic. Also, when the bar is full with standing room only they tend to spill into the dining room, so if you end up in the first booth on a busy night it's loud and you end up with people standing near you."

  • "We chose to check out this place for dinner, never been there but looked pretty good and we wanted to enjoy some good beers. I was surprised to see they had a cask beer on that was something delicious like they would actually serve in a cask from england. We're from CA so only see IPAs out here on cask :) It made my night for sure, plus all four of us enjoyed our meals more than anywhere else the whole trip, the quality of the food and genuine service was fabulous! We will definitely be back each trip there from here on out :) And hopefully earlier in the day next time so we're not so full and can eat and drink more!"

  • "Our reservation was for 7:00 pm. We had our choice of sitting in the front or back of the restaurant. We declined on the front, which is where the bar is. It can be quite loud depending on the clientele. The back of the restaurant proved to be the better choice if you're looking for a semi-quiet atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and quick to take our orders? We both ordered the filet, which was excellently seasoned and cooked to perfection. We also ordered a side of the lobster mac & cheese. While the flavor was good, it was a bit dry. I don't think tortellini noodles should be used for mac & cheese. The portions are small for the price, but don't expect to eat at a nice restaurant in The Venetian for a minimal cost."

  • "Our reservation was at 7:00 pm. We were promptly seated. The service is impeccable. I ordered an octopus appetizer which was highly overcooked, very rubbery, although the taste was very good. I was quickly given another appetizer. I also ordered the pork belly and clams. It was a good dish however for the price it is not worth it. My wife ordered salmon which was also a good dish but again in my opinion overpriced. They were not the type of dishes you dream about and can't wait to eat again. It appears to be a great place to join your friends in the lounge area."

  • "We first went to the Public House 2 yrs and we were excited to finally come back to it. We started with the marrow and it was pretty good but for $15 you only get one 6" bone with four pieces of toast--over priced in my opinion. It came with bacon marmalade, which overpowered the delicate flavor of the marrow IMO. I ordered poutine last time and did again but it wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it. The fries were over cooked, the duck was dry and the gravy was the same flavor as the bacon marmalade used for both the marrow and on the burger. My husband was happy with the burger but it wasn't fantastic. I did a FourSquare check in and got a free draft beer. I'm glad I didn't pay for because it was pretty similar to Bud Light."

  • "I was a bit disappointed at how dead it was on Sunday night in the Venetian especially considering the fact that I had limited time slots on Open Table. The food was great and a bit adventurous which is fun for a night out away from home. Some in the party struggled with the prices."

  • "great gastropub with unique and delicious food that pairs well with the robust selection of craft beers and wine."

  • "What I like the most about the Public House is the access to great craft beers and micro-brews. If you are seeking to enjoy a good beer, and aren't sure what to try, the bartenders at Public House have a great knowledge and will pair you with a beer to fit your taste. Some of the dishes were unique, but I enjoyed the food. I drink good beer here more often than I dine, but overall I think this is a good find in the midst of the usual casino restaurant scene."

  • "Cruising by the Public House to see the many faces enjoying a pint of over 250 different pints from around the globe was the main reason this Canuck chose this restaurant/bar for dinner. My party of three worked our way through the hopping Wednesday CES2014 crowd and were greeted by two smiling hostesses ready to help get our dinner started. We were seated quickly and notified of that our wait staff would be back to take drink and meal orders from the simple menu with unique choices. Our server Matt was very personable and shared with us the fact that many beers were available on the digital menu. Sharing the poutine with the recommended fried egg this mess of fries, gravy, cheese curds and duck was delicious! See ya next year."

  • "I had reservations for 815P for this past Tue for an important business meeting. At 825P I was extended as eat near the bar which was totally incorrect. In fact I showed up at 755P to make sure we got a table on time as I had an important customer but was very disappointed. Next maître di offered champagne to appease and I said I did not drink. My guest said she will have a beer instead and I requested for a diet soda. Guess what? I got charged for them! I did not want to question the waitress in front of my guest so just paid and left. Did not expect this from a restaurant at Venetian. BTW, I am a guest at the hotel too!"

  • "Had very nice dinner at the Public House - Poutine appetizer was good, a plate of french fries with duck confi, melted cheese curd and gravy - Enough for two - 14 oz. New York well priced, very good beef - The steak was great too - Excellent beer and wine selection - Tried the cicerone recommendation, Cask Union Jack IPA, served at room temperature - Paired well with the fries - Would definately eat at the restaurant again"

  • "This was our first time eating at the Public House. Their food was delicious. We had the cheese platter, a burger, lobster mac and cheese, Yukon mashed potatoes and a beet salad. The burger was perfectly cooked, mashed potatoes were just that, mashed. :-) Cheese and bread with cranberry sauce, oh yes...it was sooooo good. Toasted bread with fancy cheese (truffled cheese to be exact)....can't go wrong there. The lobster mac had chunks of lobster. Let's just say we didn't go home hungry. It wasn't very loud, the staff was efficient and we didn't have to wait long to eat. Overall an awesome time."

  • "My client and I dined here during an industry show in the Sands Expo center. I'm glad I had the reservations and adored the gastro-pub fare. Our favorite was the Duck Confit Poutine. You must request an extra gravy and honestly can make that your lunch. I'll return."

  • "While the beer selection here is decent, especially compared to the rest of the strip, the prices are ridiculously high. I understand that everything on the strip is more expensive, but most of the tap beers are priced nearly twice what they would be at a “regular” bar (e.g., 10 oz of Green Flash’s Green Bullet for $12), and the bottled selections are priced even higher (e.g., 12 oz Maui Coconut Porter for a whopping $10/can!). The food was nothing spectacular (especially considering the competition in the area); the portions were small and the prices outrageous. I left feeling like I had been fleeced! Save your money and wait to get a decent beer; there was nothing here that couldn’t be found elsewhere."

  • "Overall the meal was very tasty and well-executed. Poutine - too salty on the first go around. Don't get me wrong, I have a heavier hand with salt, myself, but this was way too much. Second plating was better but still too salty, probably the gravy and duck confit. I would recommend toning the salt in the gravy down but that's up to Chef. The egg was spot on. Butcher's block: the rillete and rabbit/porchetta were awesome! Lamb meatballs: flavor was really good, texture was reminiscent of store-bought though. Burger: had tomato on one side and lots of frisee to another. Again, the meal was tasty and well-executed overall, just some minor details to keep in mind."

  • "Public House is a decent place to go but the problem is that it looks like it thinks it's a fine dining establishment when it has more in common with casual dining. I don't have a problem with casual dining places but with the prices and reputation it had I was expecting more from Public House. As a foodie the food wasn't anything special. The poutine was ok at best, the charcuterie was decent but nothing special either. They had a vast selection of beer which excited this beer lover but even that wasn't done well. A lot of the beers weren't in the right categories and when you order the beer the waiter just plops down the bottle on the table like I'm in a pub. No glasses or pouring. Not fine dining. This place is 2 1/2 stars overall."

  • "My husband and I visited Public House in celebration of his new job. We often try to break away from the chicken, steak, burger, wings, pasta routine and did so with our visit. We started with the $16 Steak Tartare which is described as "tenderloin, shallots & capers with crispy bone marrow, tendon chips & sour beer mustard". These ingredients might scare you, but seriously try it! It was delicious! Another appetizer we tried was the $9.50 potted duck rillettes which is something I normally wouldn't do (not a huge fan of duck) but it was quite delicious! I did acquiesce to having a fantastic fillet mignon ($41) and my husband had the pork belly & clams ‘portugese style’ which was amazing! I could write more, but there's a character limit."

  • "The food was very good, but nothing special. The Grand lux is just as good. The wine and beer list was extensive, however many of the prices for the beers were way over priced. Not sure if I would go back considering all of the choices in Vegas."

  • "My husband and I decided to have a date night to go somewhere new and chose The Public House. We were welcomed by the hostess and seated right away. Our server Hector was super friendly and made us feel right at home. He helped us in choosing the right cocktails as well as appetizers which were all excellent choices. We will definitely be going there for dinner again."

  • "I had a birthday dinner my sister wanted to take me to so I thought I would try out Public Housr We were seated quickly and our server was there quickly as we'll. The menu had some unusual item so I thought it woul be a good meal. The appetizer came quickly and was very good. The wait for the main course was unacceptable. The restaurant was not crowded, only one other table. The meal, pork in this case was tasteless. Not recommeded"
