Diner Reviews
  • "Wasn't as good as it was a year ago when I was here. I had a $19.00 burger which was good, but I've had better gourmet burgers in the SF Bay Area for a lot less. Food in Vegas is expensive, however. We also had the Mac and Cheese which was okay; the cheese was a bit runny so it didn't stick to the noodle as well as it should. We also had the squid which was decent but a bit chewy. Service was great and the beer ( big selection) was very good."

  • "night lighting...warm feeling. Great cocktails and very friendly service."

  • "Had tickets to KA and wanted to eat near the theater. While looking online, saw several reviews on Pub 1842 that intrigued me, especially all the positives about the brisket. They were not wrong. Brisket was excellent, up there with the best. Wife had a Kale Caesar that she said was impressive. We had lobster corn dogs for appetizer....mouthwatering! Nice list of beers on tap, too. Price was decent for Vegas. Would definitely go there again."

  • "We eat here almost every time we are in LV. The Nachos are awesome Burgers are very good too. Great bar food."

  • "A little overpriced for eight of us well over $300.00 for upscale bar food but had a 20% off coupon so that took care of the gratuity and only three people had beers. Overall the food was good but I expected that from Michael Mina."

  • "Wide selection of draft and bottled beers at the bar. Excellent BBQ ribs and great service."

  • "We wanted a casual place with good food. We got the former but both the for and service were very disappointing. The sports bar atmosphere was fine but we were expecting a gastropub and we got for that was more on the level of regular bar food despite sounded better than that. With all the great place in Vegas this is definitely one you could skip."

  • "We really wanted to like Pub 1842. We've had very good experiences at other Michael Mina restaurants, but were disappointed with Pub 1842. We tried a few appetizers and an entree each, but were not impressed with the quality or presentation of the food. In some cases, the seasonings were odd. I'm all for an eclectic menu, but it has to be executed well. We simply felt that this missed the mark. There are many better gastro pubs in town, so we'll go elsewhere in the future."

  • "Simple pub type atmosphere. The food and service was good. They were accommodating to my requests. Limited menu, price was commensurate with the location"

  • "Having tix to Ka, I wanted to try dinner somewhere within MGM; this looked reasonable -- we weren't looking for a fine dining experience this time. It's a sports bar, with a brewery menu (for food). Maybe just semantics, but it's not a pub. The advertised "view", "overlooking The District", is limited to about 5% of the seats. If they don't figure out who and what they are, they are likely to fail. Still, the food and service were very good, and it was a good experience. I had St. Louis ribs (not easily found on LV menus, so that was a plus), which came with kale-slaw...that was different -- I suppose it would be good if you're really into kale."

  • "The entire meal was quite casual, and given the location and all the surrounding high-end places, this was a nice find overall. The Beef Brisket was exceptionally tender, and do not pass up the Gouda Mac & Cheese. The Frickles - whole fried pickles - were quite refreshing and a nice change from the typical sliced variety. Presentation isn't this place's strong point, like at other Michael Mina places, but the food was very good. We actually ate there twice because it was such a perfect find."

  • "We were here during happy hour for a pre-show dinner with kids, and it was a good experience. There is a section where bar taps are built into cocktail tables which is a cool feature for adults. Our family table was a little close so I would have asked to move if I knew in advance that a party would show up ... but to be fair, the restaurant didn't know either. Michael Mina's food is always great and this was no exception."

  • "Bring lots of money. Great beer list to choose from. Not pleased with food quality. Very expensive food for a pub. Stick to sandwiches on menu. If you are a beer drinker, this place if for you."

  • "I was hoping the reviews were wrong for this place, but they were right. Food isn't very good. Seasonings are weird. Ordered fish and chips and it was terribly soggy. I could find a better burger at a fast good joint. Don't waste your money!"

  • "Great service, excellent food! The staff was friendly and nachos are the bomb! "

  • "Simply an awful meal. We ordered the "A Little bit of everything appetizer" we substituted mac and cheese for kale slaw for $5 on a $34 appetizer… an entire extra side was $9. Price aside drinks were rarely refilled. Getting the check and returning the paid check took forever… Wont' be going back. "

  • "This is a rather unique sports type bar with a unique take on typical bar food. The burgers are excellent, the sides are generous and as you might expect, you are paying a top end price. The only way to be dissapointed is to not take time to do a reservation at the busy time. We were there during the "BillBoard Awards" which was in the conference center. We were promptly seated at 8:45pm just like our reservations and had little wait for prompt drink and food service. Would certainly go there again."

  • "We were looking for a casual meal at the MGM Grand, and landed at the Pub 1842. We anticipated burgers and a beer. Once seated, we learned from some of the wait staff that the Pub was well known for its barbecue. So several of us had the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious and better than most NC or Memphis barbecue joints. Another of our party ordered the ribs and said they were the meatiest, tastiest ribs he'd had a a very long time. AND they have 16 different beers on tap along with many other bottled beers. If you are looking for a really good meal in a casual atmosphere anywhere the MGM Grand when on the Vegas strip, Pub 1842 is the place to go. "

  • "The pub was a beautiful restaurant. Very clean and very professional. We enjoyed the cold beer and delicious burgers. I would ask for the passing pedestrians to be more quiet and not be so obnoxious."

  • "This pub has a really cool vibe and an amazing beer list. We went with a group of 6, each of us ordered different things and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. My brother had the PBJ burger and he was literally speechless about how good it was. Service was fast as were food and drink times. We will be back."

  • "Okay, so I have to admit I didn't get this "gastro pub" thing where very famous top-ranked chefs open simple pubs. That was until I ate at Michael Mina's Pub 1842. If every menu item is as good as the burger that I had then I can't wait to try every other celebrity chef's pub."

  • "The cheeseburger is fantastic, great beer menu. Their other food just ok."

  • "This meal was good, but a little disappointing. Had the lobster potpie that they're known for, and was surprised to find it's a whole lobster baked under a pastry. This resulted in a lobster that was a bit rubbery. Otherwise, foie gras and some other apps and sides were very good. We went with a large group from work and they accommodated us fairly well until the waitress spilled some foie gras juice on someone's blouse. This seemed to throw the waitress way off her game, and her repeated apologizing actually got to be pretty annoying. Move on next time. Overall a decent meal, but it seems that Micheal Mina's focus has shifted to other endeavors. (I much preferred the burger I had at his new Pub in the MGM)"

  • "Everything about Pub 1842 was wonderful - except the very very loud music...we could barely hear each other talk....we were a party of four. Tried the Salmon, Fish & Chips and the Cowboy Ribeye....every single dish was fantastic! Server was great - beer was fantastic. The other couple we were with ordered vodka on the rocks and they were a bit surprised at the very ungenerous portion of drink - but the quality of food more than made up for that."

  • "The beer list is excellent, service was good, and the vibe is cool. The food probably deserves a better rating, but I went out on a limb with my order. The Peanut Butter Crunch burger was good, but not great. It felt like it was missing something. It needed one extra flavor or something. It was a little dry, flavor overwhelmed by the PB. The fried pickles were great though as were the french fries. I would definitely go back, and next time I'll probably just order a classic burger."

  • "This restaurant is so extremely loud that it is nearly impossible to talk. Also the lobster corn dog was terrible/inedible."
    Dined on 2/20/2014
  • "Food was good but I wasn't warned how spicy my dish would be. The staff was most helpful when my husband had a minoredical issue. A bit more expensive than I would have expected for this kind of restaurant but I understand it's the chefs ne that costs."

  • "Food was great! Started with maitake mushrooms which are the closest thing in taste to the morels we find in Midwest in spring. Wife had tomato soup with lobster grilled cheese and thoroughly enjoyed. I'd been looking for good fish & chips for a while and these didn't disappoint. Fish was flaky and moist, breading was a little heavy, but the taste made up for it. I tend to drown my fried fish in vinegar, but only used a little lemon juice. While I could see the dill in the tartar sauce to be a bit overwhelming for some, it was perfect for my tastes. I paired my meal with an Innis & Gunn original and couldn't have picked a better match. Prices were higher than similar fare, but that can be explained by location. Would definitely return."

  • "The Ahi Tuna Poke app and Scottish Salmon entree were fantastic -- meant to try the Peanut Butter Crunch burger with bacon jam but never got a chance to! Very accommodating staff -- our conference group changed size a number of times, but they didn't blink and just got us a smaller/bigger table."

  • "Hoping for a chance to try a celeb chef joint that would fit our low budget- Pub 1842 exceeded our expectations. Service was amazing all around. Our waitress was exceptional and had the perfect recommendations. Mains: Fish and Chips were a bit salty for my taste, wife's burger was flawlessly executed. Dessert: Butterscotch custard was worth every workout reversing, decadent bite. Best dining experience we had on this visit to Vegas."
