A word from Psari
At Psari our specialty is fresh and delicious seafood with a Greek twist. "Psari" is Greek for "fish" and that simple word is the inspiration behind our menu. We serve a variety of fresh whole fish daily including red snapper, black sea bass and porgy. For the carnivores among you, we offer juicy porterhouse steak, tasty lamb chops and flavorful grilled chicken.

Psari offers a full bar and an international wine list with selections that pair perfectly with our menu. We feature a newly-renovated setting that is both comfortable and chic; the atmosphere is casual and our friendly and inviting staff will make you feel like family.

Diner Reviews
  • "I bought an amazon local deal to this restaurant not knowing anything. The food was amazing, great service and a lot of food for two for only $40! The lobster and shrimp bisque were delicious. I plan on going back and trying the lobster a different way."

  • "Picked 6 pm reservation so I could get 1/2 price drinks and appetizers but could not combine offers with the Groupon. I didn't know this when I booked that time. Had calamari which was a bit chewy. Also could not use open table when reserving with a groupon had to call to get a dinner time."

  • "Awesome food to take home for a real late-night snack (dinner for me). Along with my regular entrée I took home the delicious chicken entrée, and even at 3:30am dinner was just as delicious as the 8:00 pm dinner. They packeage it just right so that the bread didn't get soggy waiting for me. Will certainly return for he remainder of my favorites."

  • "Lobsters were tasty but shell was hard to crack. I prefer to crack my own and eat the best part of a lobster: the tamale! Staff didn't know type of lobster it was. No big deal, but I would try NOT to get similar lobster-type. It wasn't the typical African Rock lobster but that's what it reminded me of. Took too much energy for the amount of meat and I was still a little hungry at the end, so I ordered another small dish "to fill me up". Their entrees should ALL include a vegetable dish, given the prices. Astoria is NOT Manhattan after all. The lemon potatoes and shrimp bisque were out of this world! My date had her lobster pre-cracked. We totally loved the food, and definitely will return, they have quite a few dishes we want to try. "

  • "We have eaten at many Greek restaurants but this restaurant was by far at the bottom of our list. The restaurant served plenty of food but the quality in terms of taste was very poor. Based on the reviews we read on Open Table, we had higher expectations. We would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good Greek restaurant in Astoria, Queens."

  • "I was happily surprised how good the food and service was. I typically check reviews before trying a new place but didn't really have time. Try the seafood platter!"

  • "My husband and I have been to the restaurant a couple of times. The first time we Loved it however this time it was so so. My husband ordered his usual (the fried platter) which is a large serving for the price. I decided to venture out and try something new, the boiler seafood platter with the lobster tail. When the servicer brought out my platter, I was speechless. I would have gotten more food at Joe's Crab Shack. The lobster was a petite size cut in half. The so called crab stuffing in the clam and shrimp didn't agree with my stomach. It was more stuffing with a mixture of seasoning that did not help matters any. So if we return, I will stick with what I know, oysters, salad, and the fried seafood platter. I can't go wrong with that."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised to find this neighborhood spot was a great place for seafood. The portions were very generous, especially the seafood platter with baked clams, lobster, lobster tail, scallops, and crab. Servers were friendly and accomodating and a nice ambiance."

  • "Went there for lunch with 5 people- no one was very thrilled with the food or service- the worst were the crabcakes which were deep fried oily patties. Inexcusable for a restaurant with a good reputation. I gace it 3 and not 1 or 2 stars as a deference to the fact that my experience may have been an anamoly."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed 2 dozen oysters and two glasses of exquisite white wine while dining outdoors on a crisp September afternoon at Psari. We were using a Grupon or NY for Two promotion, and this was our first time there. As is the case with many of these promotions, I expected the restaurant to substitute the wine for their crappiest house wine so save on the promotion. Instead, the waitress at Psari served us very healthy glasses of excellent wine. As we finished off our oysters, two women who were regulars suggested that we also try the grilled octopus since, they insisted, "it was just how they make it in Greece!" Who were we to resist? It was delicious. Truly the best grilled octopus We've ever had."

  • "The food was amazing and the service was even better. We were using a groupon and we were still treated as any other patron. I would definitely go back."

  • "We came with a Groupon for two lobsters, and the meal was good. Obviously for the discounted price, our lobsters were small, but there was a lot of food overall. We especially loved the garlic bread and shrimp bisque. The restaurant is Greek with lots of fish, and I would say that would be the best reason to come. The staff was especially helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend."

  • "Unfortunately dining here was not a good experience in comparison to the other restaurants we visit. Food was subpar, service was unprofessional and poor. Hopefully this restaurant will wake up and dine elsewhere to get an idea of how to do it. It's a business, treat it like one."

  • "I found the food to be delicious and well prepared. The filet sole stuffed with crab meat was absolutely scrumptious yet light enough to be full. I had a great dining experience at Psari's and would definitely go back and try a few more of their dishes. I found the atmosphere to be warm and the waitress was great."

  • "We went here with a Groupon for two lobster tails, and we enjoyed it. Tails were small, but the groupon was inexpensive, so no complaints. The shrimp soup and, ironically, the garlic bread that preceded the meal were both excellent. Happy with the place, great for seafood, good list of low priced wine bottles. Noticed they had a good happy hour from 4 to 7."

  • "An unpretentious spot with excellent fish -- the freshest!, great fries, and a waitress who listened carefully and CARED."

  • "Four of us went, spent 175.00 with no alcohol. I was pretty embarrassed about recommending the place. The waitress was very nice. The busboy took my plate while I was still eating. The fisherman's platter, @ 30.00 was jammed onto a small plate with no attempt to make it look appetizing. My swordfish looked like it had been sliced off a square loaf of something. It was dry and pretty tasteless. The lemon sole was also bland and tasteless. The snapper was dry and overcooked, although that, at least, looked good. The strawberry shortcake and greek salad were both excellent, as was the cappuchino. This place has so much potential but it needs a new chef. I might wait a while before going back."

  • "My new favorite local restaurant. The menu items are all very well-priced. We made it just in time for happy hour ($ off raw oysters and beer). The service was great - everyone was very attentive, and the food was fresh and delicious."

  • "Psari was certainly handy to get to from Manhattan as its close to the subway. However it was a bit of a let down in terms of ambiance and food. The starters were good - dips and pita and fried cheese, but my main of grilled calamari was inedible, chewy tasteless rubber bands. They could do with some music to create an atmosphere when it's not so busy as well - for a Sunday lunch time it was very quiet."
