We enjoyed the creative vegetarian small plates choices, as well as the fish. The Asparagus Salad with ricotta, crispy shallots and lemon was excellent, as was the Masa Flatbread | leeks, mushrooms, manchego, smoked peppers. We loved the Tuna Taquitos | hawaiian albacore, spice seared, pickled cabbage, soy - mustard aioli. One of had the organic salmon with charred parsnips & fennel and said it was fabulous.

The Prix Fixe five course tasting menu is perfect for a group of foodies. There is generous amounts of both food and libation and every dish is a spectacular fresh creation on a menu that changed completely from last week to this week!

Province was a pleasant exception on both counts. My colleague and I were seated in a comfortable booth and, even though the restaurant was almost full, could speak at a normal volume and easily hear each other. For my purposes the low noise level and pleasant ambiance would have been enough to make me come back, but the food (in my case, delicious skirt steak topped with a chimichurri sauce, served over over flavor-spiked mashed potatoes) far exceeded my expectations. As none in the party had dined there before, we had the server suggest a mix of small plates to be shared. Highly recommend this approach! Everything was well prepared, and the suggested proportions were perfect. Location is convenient to the busy west Loop, and the restaurant was much quieter than many others we have visited. The experience was outstanding.
We're not always the easiest group to accommodate. We have 3 people with gluten allergies...and 2 dairy allergies. We had tremendous gluten-free/dairy-free dinner options...and everything was delicious.
The food is fabulous, the staff is expert.....and the kitchen accommodating. We don't eat pork so we ask for the dish without pork. They accommodated. With the elimination of pork, a nice chef touch would have been to add more of the other main ingredient. The wait staff is knowledgeable, including the bartenders. Even the chorizo-stuffed olives in the martinis are outstanding! Chef/Owner Randy does a fine job of informing and training his staff so that each of them is helpful and has the ability to meet any guest's needs, including the car valet--he is always one step ahead of guests leaving and needing their cars. In addition, Chef Randy will accommodate any food allergies, vegan needs, etc. This is not typical boring food so go with an open mind and the expectation that you will leave the restaurant happy and comfortably sated. We found some terrific hits and some misses--especially in the dessert category, in which the dulce de leche was sublime, and the chocolate concoction inedible. The bass and the pork ragu were also excellent. The lamb BBQ and albacore mediocre. We really appreciated being able to share a wine flight between us, as we both had work to do after dinner. Also enjoyed the masa flatbread, but the duck paella was too dry, didn't have enough duck, just like the lobster mashed potatoes didn't have enough lobster for my taste (And for the tiny dish they came in). Mac n cheese side and chocolate 5 ways dessert is very indulgent and cocktails are tasty.

I had not heard much about this place but the chef week menu looked interesting. I would definitely come back here for another meal. They had a great wine list and monday's they have half price glasses of wine. I also heard that they have a special on Wednesdays $10 for a burger and a beer. The noise level was perfect for conversation, not too quiet or loud.
