I've been to Province at leastI've been to Province at least 6-7 times, and keep coming back because I love the food, service, and ambiance. This time the chef came out to say hello to me and my friend, which we thought was a really nice touch! Thanks for that!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally Made It!I had heard Province was excellent and it took me a while to get down there. I shouldn't have waited so longQ
The food and service were incredible. Each morsel was better than the one before. Decadent side dishes. Get the fries and the mac and cheese. This mac and cheese is now in my top 3 in Chicago.
We will be back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice!Four of us had really nice dinners. We enjoyed the creative vegetarian small plates choices, as well as the fish. The Asparagus Salad with ricotta, crispy shallots and lemon was excellent, as was the Masa Flatbread | leeks, mushrooms, manchego, smoked peppers. We loved the Tuna Taquitos | hawaiian albacore, spice seared, pickled cabbage, soy - mustard aioli. One of had the organic salmon with charred parsnips & fennel and said it was fabulous.
We shared two creative and amazing desserts.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTotally enjoyableCasual atmosphere with a highly vared and delicious food selection. There were plenty of great wine selections, and we had not previously known there was a sommelier on staff! We enjoyed the evening.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for groupsThis is the second large group I've taken to Province in the past two weeks. The Prix Fixe five course tasting menu is perfect for a group of foodies. There is generous amounts of both food and libation and every dish is a spectacular fresh creation on a menu that changed completely from last week to this week!
Service this Friday was impeccable and all my family and guests were impressed.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I had a greatMy friend and I had a great dining experience at Province. We ordered five of the small plates and a side which was perfect for two people. Each dish was delicious. Our server was outstanding.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome food, reasonably pricedWe went with 2 other couples and had soups, salads, main courses, cocktails, wine and desserts..not one bad thing! The goat cheese fig dessert was unbelievable!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWine Wednesday is an amazing dealIf you have a free Wednesday night, head down to Province. They have a 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings for just under $68 a person including tax and tip.
My group of friends loved the food and we'll be back soon.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMelegant and deliciousthey just hit the right tone in food and service.
the food is light but with a lot of flavor and the emphasis on fish is great.
Only comment is many of the dishes felt like they could use a touch more salt but that's me.
we will return as often as we can.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDelish. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Overall very good with friendly, knowledgeable staff.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceFood was excellent. The wait staff were excellent. Just the right amount of attention. Sound level was good. There is on street parking but the valet service is a bargain. Looking forward to next visit5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy! My friends and I tried almost everything on the menu; each selecting a different small plate and entree and dessert. We all walked away saying that was one of the best dinners we've had in a long time. We hit up a different restaurant every month and Proovince by far was one of our favorites! Great service, great good and great place! Thanks for a wonderful and fun girls' night out5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for business lunchMost of the usual suspects for a business lunch near the train stations in the loop are intolerably noisy and/or have mediocre food. Province was a pleasant exception on both counts. My colleague and I were seated in a comfortable booth and, even though the restaurant was almost full, could speak at a normal volume and easily hear each other. For my purposes the low noise level and pleasant ambiance would have been enough to make me come back, but the food (in my case, delicious skirt steak topped with a chimichurri sauce, served over over flavor-spiked mashed potatoes) far exceeded my expectations. Province will now be in heavy rotation on my list of business lunch destinations in the loop.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall plates with big flavorDelightful place to enjoy the summer weather - on their patio, with a refreshing cocktail or one of their many wines, and wide variety of small plates. Two of us shared 7, which was the perfect amount, and everything was fresh and tasty. It was my 1st visit, and I will definitely be back!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBusiness DinnerHosted a dinner for eight - provided a single table with comfortable space for everyone. As none in the party had dined there before, we had the server suggest a mix of small plates to be shared. Highly recommend this approach! Everything was well prepared, and the suggested proportions were perfect. Location is convenient to the busy west Loop, and the restaurant was much quieter than many others we have visited. Wine list has good breadth, and many affordable choices. We will definitely go back!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial OccasionThe family took Mom to Province for am early Mother's Day dinner. The experience was outstanding.
We're not always the easiest group to accommodate. We have 3 people with gluten allergies...and 2 dairy allergies. We had tremendous gluten-free/dairy-free dinner options...and everything was delicious.
The food is fabulous, the staff is expert.....and the kitchen accommodating. I'd highly recommend Province.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMProvinceFour of us went to Province for dinner as part of a girls night out. The food was very good, serving size was just right, and the service was excellent! The atmosphere was very nice as well.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceLunch was a delight. The fixed price "Business Lunch" has excellent options, and everything was tasty and fresh. Plus the ala carte menu had even more temptations. Service was friendly, knowledgable and helpful, always on time but not overwhelming.
We'll be back for dinner (in fact made reservations)5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb west loop lunchSerene and eco friendly decor with warm but professional service. Food is very very good with fair prices.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMwe were a party of six andwe were a party of six and had the tasting menu whch was awesome as well as the service ... highly recommend4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOpen Table I'm glad you asked.Open Table I'm glad you asked. I was contemplating an email to Province with a short critique about our experience. It was a wonderful experience for our party of three. The decor and ambience was great. A very comforty -modern-green feel. The water keep coming and surprisingly enough I keep drinking. Good wine with various price range. The food was excellent. My daughter and myself had paella. We don't eat pork so we ask for the dish without pork. They accommodated. With the elimination of pork, a nice chef touch would have been to add more of the other main ingredient. I don't think happened and consequently we ended up with lots of rice and somewhat burnt rice. Also the dish was 'too -hot -to -handle'.( temperature hot)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed every aspect ofWe enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant. The menu was very interesting. Every item we ordered was delicious. Our server was great.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Dining Experience!Absolutely delicious food beautifully presented - lovely ambience - prosessional, friendly, very knowledgeable staff - loved the green, organic aspects of the restaurant - cannot wait for a return visit!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! I have beenLove this place! I have been to Province 5-6 times, and it's always good. This time the service bent over backwards to work with the kitchen on my dietary requests (vegan). Everything was delicious.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI always enjoy Province. TheI always enjoy Province. The food is reliably delicious and the ingredients are pristinely fresh. The menu has such an interesting array of choices, and the small plate options allow for a very varied meal. The other night we had the tasting menu with wine pairings for the first time, and it was my favorite meal there ever--every dish was superb, and the wines were a perfect complement. Our server was a real delight--professional, helpful and charming.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! Each item we had was very delicious, we'll definitely be returning to this restaurant again!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCam99Outstanding. What a wonderful find. Service was attentive. The best restaurant experience we had in five days in Chicago.Would highly recommend and will return again when visiting Chicago.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth my husband and I lovedBoth my husband and I loved the food. However, we probably won't go back as we spent $100 and were not full. Entree portions are surprisingly small - more like a tapas/tasting size. Kudos to the chef on flavors but if the portions were just slightly bigger, it would seem like a good price point. The homemade rolls were phenomenal but would be nice to have waiter come by and give refills automatically. Such a small thing would reap huge impressions. We also loved the photography and pink walls. This site only allowed me to rate a GOOD for Ambiance even though I would put VERY GOOD.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful SurpriseProvince was a wonderful surprise, as we made a last minute reservation without knowing much about the restaurant. We went with an old friend who was in town and hoped it would be a place where we could eat well but also have an unrushed dinner conducive to endless conversation. It was perfect. Good food and wine, lovely space, excellent service. Our waitress was outstanding, informative without being pushy, and gracious about our being at the table from 7:30 until closing time. We all had the chef's tasting menu and really enjoyed it, finding only the steak to be less than delicious because it had great flavor but was tough. The other items in the tasting menu were very good and well-portioned. We will definitely return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience in allExcellent experience in all respects. Service friendly but not oppressive. Food fresh and inventive.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have always enjoyed theWe have always enjoyed the food at Province. The wait staff were very knowledgable and helpful. Great romantic environment.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Great food. Quiet. Loved the ambiance and food quality4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI was very satisfied withI was very satisfied with the experience. Although I was running a little bit later for the 9 pm reservation, the staff was very friendly and we received amazing service. The food looked and tasted delicious. The mood was well fitted with the service provided. I am most definitely planning on coming back to dine at Province. Thank you!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Province with myI went to Province with my husband and another couple and I specifically chose this restaurant for the good food and the fact that you can have a conversation without having to talk louder than everybody around you or blaring background music. The food was delicious. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and it was all outstanding. It was a very quiet Tuesday night and the service was attentive without rushing us in the least.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food & ServiceWe went on a Monday, so the place was extremely empty, but the food was great and the service was outstanding. Will definitely return on a weekend night to see how the venue really gets when at full capacity.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFine pre-theater choice inFine pre-theater choice in a burgeoning restaurant area. Interesting menu, well executed, at fair prices. Highly efficient, friendly service.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMProvince is consistently excellent.Province is consistently excellent. It is a small space on Jefferson, but quiet, with beautiful decor. The chef changes the menu frequently, so return visits are always a new taste. Small portions as well as regular size entrees are offered, and the food is superb. Very eclectic menu. Very nice wine selection. Fit for a gourmet.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been to Province manyWe've been to Province many times and will continue to return. The food is always excellent and interesting as is the presentation. The wait staff is knowledgeable, including the bartenders. Even the chorizo-stuffed olives in the martinis are outstanding! Chef/Owner Randy does a fine job of informing and training his staff so that each of them is helpful and has the ability to meet any guest's needs, including the car valet--he is always one step ahead of guests leaving and needing their cars. In addition, Chef Randy will accommodate any food allergies, vegan needs, etc. This is not typical boring food so go with an open mind and the expectation that you will leave the restaurant happy and comfortably sated. Not too $$ either.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe bass was fabulous. TheThe bass was fabulous. The small plates are all delicious and hard just to pick a few. We've been here three times and the place is consistently excellent. We will be back for more soon!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMhits and missesWe went for Chef's Week, ordered everything available between the two of us. We found some terrific hits and some misses--especially in the dessert category, in which the dulce de leche was sublime, and the chocolate concoction inedible. The bass and the pork ragu were also excellent. The lamb BBQ and albacore mediocre. We really appreciated being able to share a wine flight between us, as we both had work to do after dinner. Very friendly service!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been there before.I have been there before. This was a fixed menu. It was not as good as the regular. But I will definitely be back.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingly good food!Went for Chefs Week and had a fabulous lunch! Will be giving back soon3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent & FlavorfulOne of our faves...always have a good meal here; great seasonal house cocktail; very flavorful dishes. Delicious pork ragu pappardele; suckling pig (when available); tender skirt steak. Nice to be able to select from small plates or entrees, or chef menu. Changes seasonally & chef keeps flavors on point for latin influence. Service is always attentive & timely. Bonus that it's a 'green' restaurant! Love the cookies instead of blah mint bowl! Usually go a Sat. before theatre so not busy or loud.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCherry bbq'd lamb needs toCherry bbq'd lamb needs to have a bit more cherry and made into an entree and it will be one of my favorite dishes ever! Also enjoyed the masa flatbread, but the duck paella was too dry, didn't have enough duck, just like the lobster mashed potatoes didn't have enough lobster for my taste (And for the tiny dish they came in). Mac n cheese side and chocolate 5 ways dessert is very indulgent and cocktails are tasty.
Winter tasting menu is at a great price point and easy reservation availability is certainly a draw (Especially with last minute reservations).3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMReally nice with welcomingReally nice with welcoming staff, interesting menu, delicious food and great wine list. Menu changes frequently so you won't get bored with multiple visits.
This visit my wife had the bass anI had the duck paella. Both were excellent.
Definitely recommended3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMProvince is a very good restaurant.Province is a very good restaurant. I am not usually a foodies guy, but I was impressed with the decor, ambiance, service, and food. Give this place a try. You will like it.12/29/2012 12:00:00 AMI went here for Chef weekI went here for Chef week with my father and I was very impressed. I had not heard much about this place but the chef week menu looked interesting. I would definitely come back here for another meal. They had a great wine list and monday's they have half price glasses of wine. I also heard that they have a special on Wednesdays $10 for a burger and a beer. The noise level was perfect for conversation, not too quiet or loud. Recently it has been difficult to attend a nice dinner at a foodie restaurant without the noise level being too loud.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
