Diner Reviews
  • "Our experience was disappointing. First request was for a table near the window. The window was used to spread the buffet but other tables were available in a better area. But the hostess takes us to a table in the corner where there is a door to the outside open and the server's podium was right in front of the table she offered us. So had to ask for another table which was empty. Then online menu showed that breakfast menu was available along with the buffet. When I asked the server to bring a breakfast menu this was not received well. She started explaining that there is a restricted menu but no breakfast one and the buffet was the available meal. Did not appreciate her pushing us towards the overpriced buffet. "

  • "The food was awful and simple salads such as Caesar and spinach were like a salad from a fast food joint. The noise level with Spanish dancers made talking almost impossible. I will never return."

  • "The ambiance is great. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area. The inside is just as nice. The food is very yummy. Ask to have the fresh squeezed orange juice if you are there for breakfast or brunch. We love tho come here for brunch on weekends"

  • "The new farm-to-table menu at Province was well received by our party. We started with homemade chips and French onion dip and the chicken skewers. Everyone loved the appetizers. Salads and fritto misto also were very good. Basil gnocchi was the only item that was bland. The Boston cream pie dessert was also very tasty."

  • "Were staying at Westin and needed a quick meal before a concert. Sat in patio area, with 600 p.m. reservation. It was 630 p.m. before we were even recognized by a server who ultimately seemed to have better things to do than deal with us. Food was neither great nor bad. Just O.K. Patio area was attractive, as is the bar (where the service before dinner was fast and fantastic). I don't think we'd ever make a special trip to dine at this restaurant, but I guess it did work for us. Just terribly slow and rather inattentive."

  • "went from a coupon...local dines had to move tables...noise level from the bar was very loud. Service was just eh!. They should take pizza with salmon off the menu...not a good combo. Hostess fine, Assist mgr accommodating servers are poor. It's a business hotel, not a neighborhood place. p.s. Sangria was terrible, "Homemade" potato chips tasted like Lays Potato chips....not good. We will not go there again. Too far for not great food."

  • "What an credible time we had on the outdoor patio at Province. The ambiance and food topped our list of favorites. Reasonable prices and great service helped us decide that we would visit again!"

  • "Was amazing service and food. I took my parents there for first time. Team there was amazing answered all their questions and was very helpful in showing my family around the restaurant and details about the hotel."

  • "We had a great time here. The ambience pretty much was the best part. Our tapa appetizer was great, and so was my husband's barramundi entree. However, my Havana Pork left something to be desired. It was a little dry, and just needed a little something else, or more sauce at least. Our service was great the whole time right up to the end (perhaps he just got really busy?). It took forever for our entrees to be cleared, to get the desert menu, and the check. Had I chosen a better entree, and the service not been lacking toward the end, I would have given it a 5."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day dinner. Our waitress was superb - and just about everything we ate and drank tasted pretty good. Drinks were strong, but that's a good thing. As for food recommendations, my beef short rib was tender and her lobster was perfect and steak great, too. Nice, cozy little place for a date."

  • "Oh my goodness. $400 for 4 people. Fixe Price menu for Valentine's Day on Feb 15? It would have been nice for either the restaurant or opentable to let me know that they would not have their regular menu and that there is a forced gratuity. We started off with a glass of sparkling wine. The waitress asked if we wanted a five ounce or 10 ounce pour, I asked for 5. When it arrived in the cordial glass it looked more like 2-3 oz. than 5 ounce but I didn't think about it. Until we got the bill and saw we had paid $10 each for that tiny pour. Still on the wine talk, my friend ordered a 10 ounce pour of cabernet, it came and was the temperature of refrigerated wine. Too chilled. When I remarked to the waitress she insisted it was not."

  • "The food was good but took too long to come to the table. The waiter was excellent checking on us every few minutes and ensuring our drinks were refreshed. The food was modest."

  • "We were quite impressed with our overall experience. The only disappointment was the half of a lobster tail that came with the Surf N Turf. Not only was it tiny, but we lost some of the meat because it was impossible to get out. The first table we were sat as was right across from the kitchen doors. We did ask if another table was available. They were more than accommodating and sat us on the patio at a nice corner table."

  • "Went here for valentines day, and specifically asked when we set the reservations to be sat on the patio. When I called to confirm the reservation, I asked again and was assured it was no problem. When we arrived the hostess was very rude and said the patio was reserved for "other people" and we could sit inside or wait. The food was good, but nothing special."

  • "Great food. Not too loud and a server who understood our needs. I will frequent here for my lunches downtown from now on! It is walking distance for many clients, which is a bonus."

  • "Good service but a bit junior. Menu had good variation and options for veg/ gluten/ dairy Patio was lacking atmosphere and I think the water feature had a smell ( chlorine/ musky water) Which did not help. Needs some updating. Chose the restaurant because of location. Walking distance to us airways stadium"

  • "Very mediocre food. Poor service. Nothing came out at the same time."

  • "We liked the food a lot. Southwestern or South American themed food with fresh, organic ingredients. Dishes were hot and very tasty. The service was mediocre. The restaurant was not full, and they were going to stick us at a table with an ugly view of the kitchen. There were long waits between the times we sat down, got waiter, and finally saw a waiter to order from. We had told him we had to finish in one hour to be on time for our event. He totally dropped the ball, and I had to chase him down to get the bill and pay the check. Allow 90 minutes to 2 hours if you are going to dine here. Don't plan to go to a movie or event afterwards. The validated valet parking was very convenient, and also was fast. We would return."

  • "Very nice, clean, contemporary restaurant with a unique menu offering (different nationality menu on Saturday nights...we went on Mexican night). Food portions were "perfect". Seemed small by typical standards but anyone realizing how unnecessarily large "typical" portions are, there was more than enough to eat during each course. Presentation was excellent. The place was almost empty yet we sat for some time before having anyone even offer us water. The busser seemed to meander through tables and walked behind us between our chair and a wall which seemed awkward and the staff seemed to be out of sync. With the exception of our waiter Oliver who salvaged the night for us. He was outstanding!"

  • "Had a Sunday brunch here with an old high school friend. Everything was great, was even comped for the Valet parking, which in downtown Phoenix is a nice treat. Only complaint was the sun was at a spot in the sky and bounced off the outside tables, occasionally blinding us. We sat indoors because of the wind that day and didn't want to give up our view of the courtyard outside, so we just moved over a few inches and dealt with the occasional sun beams in our eyes :)"

  • "We arrived and were immediately escorted to our table. Our orders were taken right away. However, we were a bit disappointed that your website said you had a special Christmas day meal. But, when the menus were delivered, we were told that the special was only for dinner, in the evening. The meals we had were excellent."

  • "Nothing was bad but nothing was all that great either. I wasn't disappointed but if I was looking for a restaurant in central Phoenix again I'd probably take a chance at somewhere new."

  • "Valet parking is complimentary, so despite being downtown, Province is easy to get to. Our food was very good. We participated in their Latin Passport series, so it was a set 4 course meal. My only complaint was each course came out a little too soon. They paired some delicious wines with the food for us and it was a delightful meal."

  • "The mushroom appetizer was very good and the New York strip wasn't bad. We had a very knowledgeable and responsive server. However, our meal seemed to take a very long time to come out and there were only three other tables seated. I would eat here again but wouldn't get their most expensive steak."

  • "I have tried this restaurant several times and find it, at best, inconsistent, but mostly bad food. Unfortunately, I have brought guests to this restaurant for lunch, only to be embarrassed by the food. This time, my salad was overdressed and the smoked salmon tasted "fishy'. It was really unpleasant."
    Dined on 12/17/2013
  • "We asked for a booth at the time of our reservation. We were told by the hostess that there wasn't one available even though the restaurant only had two tables of people at 4:30pm. Even when we left it was only 20-30% occupied. The servings were extremely small, the food was not tasty. The steak was overdone. We won't ever plan to dine here again."
    Dined on 12/8/2013
  • "The food here was amazing. I ordered the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly and quite a large portion. Highly recommend checking this place out!"

  • "We were in Phoenix for the North American Bridge Championships, which started on Thanksgiving Day. We looked for a restaurant that served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and found Province. We enjoyed our meal and if we find ourselves back in Phoenix we would dine at Province again."
    Dined on 11/28/2013
  • "While we enjoyed the food, the portions were less than skimpy. We realize that people don't need to stuff themselves, but c'mon, it is Thanksgiving. There weren't enough of the mashed potatoes for three servings. The turkey, stuffing and gravy all fit on a 12-inch platter with room for the shot glass of cranberry sauce. Don't advertise gravy on the menu if it's just barely drizzled over the few slices of bird. The sweet potatoes, as well as the winter squash in the salad, were undercooked and super crunchy. A hint with the pumpkin pie presentation, if you're going to serve small squares, at least make them in a pie plate. It shows more care rather than just make a sheet pan, or call it pumpkin squares. They charged us for coffee 2x"

  • "We enjoyed a quiet brunch at Province this past Saturday. .Service was very friendly and professional and the eggs benedict with salmon that we both had was excellent. They have great bloody Mary's too for only $6 during brunch"

  • "This was right downtown, we sat outside in the courtyard area and loved it!"
