Providence - New American KitchenIn a classic KC hotelMore people should give this restaurant a try. It is in the historic President Hotel right next to the Drum Room lounge. Kind of pricey but attractive space and interesting menu items. Some good cocktail choices, as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good, but itThe food was good, but it is what you expect for the price. The cocktails were creative and tasty. They were out of quite a few menu items which seemed strange but it was a Sunday night. Loved the decor/ambience, lighting was perfect and the jazz music they played was nice.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff at the restaurantThe staff at the restaurant was very accommodating to our schedule. The play we were attending ran an hour late and they were very willing to extend our reservation. We had a wonderful experience and will return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the restaurant veryEnjoyed the restaurant very much. Our group had the Applewood Smoked Meatloaf, the Braised Pork, and the Scallops. We all declared our meals delicious!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal. She had lambFantastic meal. She had lamb chops with pancetta and white beans. I had the KC strip. The appetizers were stellar — solid service, friendly, child friendly.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner! Plan to dineGreat dinner! Great food! Excellent bartender.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI sincerely hope more andI sincerely hope more and more of Kansas Citians find this wonderful restaurant. The chef is a gem.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMProvidence equals Bristol downtownI think Providence could give Bristol some tasty competition. It was a business dinner. Went back to see if they could duplicate my first dinner experience there after a great review in the Star, and the scallops proved that they could. Have also been to the bar for Happy Hour, which was very tasty. So we're 3-3 there. The valet parking was complimentary so, even during the Big 12 tournament, it was easy to get in and out.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had been wanting to tryWe had been wanting to try Providence for awhile, and the perfect occasion arose they along with many other restaurants participated in the JJs fundraiser. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, portions were a little small but about on par for this type of restaurant, and our cocktails were both extremely tasty.I also loved that there was a vegetarian dinner option on the menu! The best thing, however, was that the general manager introduced himself and invited us back as we were walking out the door. That kind of service goes a long way in our book, and we will definitely be back for our next nice dinner out!2/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
