Diner Reviews
  • "Loved, loved, loved the Lobster Mac & Cheese! The portion size was larger then expected and the chunks of meat were significant! Looking forward to going back again."

  • "We asked for a special meal from the great Chef Cunningham - traditional Coquille St Jacques and the foie gras with fruit. Chef Cunningham was on vacation, but the food was outstanding and just what I had hoped for! The charcuterie platter is exceptional, husband gets it all over to compare. The décor is opulent and the service is excellent. The wine list by the glass is limited, but ask for what you want (e.g., buttery chardonnay) and the bartender will deliver!"

  • "I thought the service was ok at best. Waited forever for a drink and waiter forgot a few things but I think he was overwhelmed with too many tables. Whatever happened to dressing presentable in public especially in a nice restaurant? Sorry but I don't want to pay $30 a plate and sit next to people wearing crocs and hoodies. Just my thoughts. Probably never go back."

  • "My experience at Provence has been consistent, the few times I've been there. The variety of choice on the menu is good, from type of food to price. The skills of the chef are always apparent judging by the quality, good taste, and presentation of the food."

  • "My wife and i were celebrating our 23 year aniiversary. We had an outstanding dinner. Our waiter, Bill was great."

  • "Perhaps they were understaffed. But for a restaurant that has been in business as long as Provence, they should have been better prepared for a busy Saturday night. When it took close to twenty minutes for two glasses of wine to arrive, I should have known we were in for a long night. Waiter apologized that the bar ran out of wine glasses. My steak was tough, fries were cold and limp and because it took over an hour, I did not want to send it back.Management offered to remove meal from bill and give complimentary desserts, however it did not make up for a truly disappointing evening"

  • "It was my 43 anniversary and my wife and I loved this place. Top to bottom great experience. Scallops and salmon were coked perfect. Once again loved this place"

  • "Provence is spectacular! The classically prepared, sumptuous food, the friendly, informative, and professional servers are always consistently excellent, year after year. The dining room is elegant, with rich woods and white linens. Chef Cunningham is the best. The wine choices by the glass are limited, but the bartenders always have a wine appropriate for a dish. They have added a few new items to the menu which are popular, such as the Kobe burger. However, we will continue to choose the classic French dishes such as the escargots, fillet of veal, and crème Brule. The Assuette Charcuterie appetizer platter with lots of hearty sausage meats and mustards, delicate cheeses and sauces is awesome, and will surely please for the price!"

  • "I have eaten here on multiple occasions and the service is very slow. The waiter is polite, but don't expect your lunch in less than an hour."

  • "And service perfunctory two out of three times. Food excellent but with professional servers (which given age ) I believe these two different servers were, I would expect checking back to see about additional beverages, not forgetting about bar orders, etc. I do not expect to have to catch other servers after 20 minutes and have to ask them to find my server. Inexplicable since it has happened the last two times with two different servers. Not what I would expect with a fine dining place."

  • "We enjoy Provence and visit about every six weeks, but the service is slow. We arrived for a 6pm reservation and were not done until 830pm. This is typical. It is not the restaurant for a pre-show dinner. Menu changes rarely, cocktail menu has not changed in an age, but the menu offers a nice selection."

  • "Our waiter, Matt, was fantastic. He gave us appropriate space to ourselves, and still attended every need we had. He was well mannered and offered great suggestions. Matt helped me pick a special drink to try- and that is part of the fun of dining out- trying new things. He also made dessert special for my friend a it was her birthday. I appreciate the special touches that personalize the visit for us."

  • "Cozy atmosphere but a little loud. My friend got duck..good amount for price... I ordered the risotto with scallops... Waitress warned us about hot plates...mine was not hot and the food Luke warm... The risotto was disappointing ... Very small portion... not very flavorful. Ordered beet salad for appetizer .... Hardly any dressing ... All in all I wish we had gone to creo!"

  • "The food was fine and up to their usual high quality standards. Everyone enjoyed everything they ordered. The issue was with the service. It was not up to our past very positive experiences at Provence. We needed to get her attention to refill the water, deliver drinks and refill coffee cups. She seemed to "disappear' for periods during our meal. From what we could tell, she was not overwhelmed with a large number of tables to manage. This drop in service unfortunately detracted from the dining experience."

  • "I had brunch with my husband and adult daughter on Sunday. We enjoyed it tremendously and will return. We've eaten there several times for dinner and enjoyed it as well. Wonderful atmosphere and the food selections are excellent. It's not terribly expensive although some might think so if they are used to dining at Dennys. Not for young children either -- don't think kids would like the menu as well as TGIFridays kind of eateries."

  • "WHAT A GREAT WAY TO CELEBRATE AN ANNIVERSARY! DELICIOUS FOOD PREPARED TO PERFECTION; EXCELLENT WINE AND A WONDERFUL CZECH PILSNER. OUR WAITER WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGABLE, FRIENDLY, AND UNOBTRUSIVE."

  • "We chose for a reunion of sorts to meet a cousin we hadn't seen in a number of years the server was on he spot but not intrusive, giving us time to visit uninterrupted. We spent three delightful hours there. We will definitely be visiting Provence again."

  • "It was our one week wedding anniversary dinner. Very romantic, friendly waiter, and amazing food."
    Dined on 12/20/2013
  • "All of us enjoyed the meal, two had pork tenderloins with a marvelous cabbage/dried fruit/pecan chutney and two had the salmon. Salads were also great, as were the desserts....raspberry sorbet to die for, and the molten choc cake!!! Service was spotty...busy night. Lisa filled in for the waiter who spent a lot of time chatting with other patrons. He was also a bit overly familiar, we thought. And loud. Lovely meal; we will return as always."

  • "Although several servers were missing in action the day we had lunch, the two waiters in our section managed to provide good service during the lunch crush. We both had the cream of asparagus soup and it was terrific; both entrees were also very good. Would highly recommend."

  • "Charming ambience. Even when dining outside, the railings/flower boxes make me forget the strip mall parking lot. I've dined here several times and always been extremely satisfied with my meal. Most recent visit (lunch) I had the bouillabaisse which was delicious and my companion had the Coquilles St. Jacques which she loved. Service always good experience for me and this last visit the service was spectacular (with a trainee in tow). A little pricey, but a real neighborhood gem."

  • "This year we decided to go out for Thanksgiving. Provence offered a prix frixe menu that offered a nice variety of choices, including a traditional turkey dinner. We opted for the filet, duck, and pork dinners. All were very good. My pumpkin creme brulee for desset was delicious. Excellent wine lists, offering a great selection by the glass. Our waiter Bill, was top notch including offering his suggestion of wine to compliment your meal. It was nice to see their standard kept high for a holiday service."

  • "Went for an early dinner so restaurant was pretty empty (therefore noise level low). Food was excellent. Just be careful of bay leaves left in the French Onion soup. I mentioned to the waiter and he wasn't concerned and said they do that all the time! Ambience very nice. Restaurant is in an upscale outdoor mall."

  • "This is a credible restaurant in an area that is otherwise lacking. the portions are generous and the chef has perfected some typical French favorites."

  • "Met a friend for lunch..we hadn't seen each other in a while so we had a lot of talking to do. We had a great visit and the service was terrific. Just the right combination of service and letting us talk. Food was good, just overpriced. $12 for an omelet with just the omelet and some lettue on the side."
    Dined on 10/25/2013
  • "My companion and I each had three courses, soup, entree, and dessert, and we enjoyed our entire meal. The food was very good if not authentically french. I liked being able to order small or larger entrees. Getting the small portion of salmon allowed me to save room for dessert. Service was ok. The waiter was a little overbearing, spending too much time chatting at us and he criticized my wine choice! I'd go back, it seemed reliable, but it wasn't an outstanding experience."

  • "We had a great time at Provence and enjoyed our dinner. We were particularly impressed by the number of small plates available. It is such fun to have a couple of items from a really interesting menu rather than finding just one. Also, we left our reading glasses in the car (and it was pouring rain) but they had a few glasses available at the hostess desk. A real thoughtful idea."
