Provence Marinaside's award-winning food, warm ambiance, and friendly service turns every meal into a special occasion. Fresh local seafood; raw oyster bar; extensive wine list; takeout; gourmet picnic basket.


Dinner is served seven nights a week. Breakfast and lunch served Monday to Friday. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. Afternoon Tea available by reservation.

  • "We were a group of five and some of us ordered the set menu with wine pairings "Avril Poisson", which was very good value. The bouillabaise starter was very good and the sturgeon and halibut were perfectly cooked and the wine pairings were very nicely chosen with the stand out being the dessert wine-delicious. The other diners also had great food, steel head trout and crab were well presented and beautifully cooked. A very attentive waiter who looked after out needs splendidly. One of our party was a visitor from England and she was very impressed. Overall a very nice evening."

  • "We have been eating at Provence several times since moving into the neighbourhood. The food is always good and well presented. The sauces are delicate yet flavourful such as with the mussels or shellfish combo. Our beef was excellent and we really appreciate that they split a main course with a small charge to put it on 2 plates with extra veggies. The lemon tart and clafoutis are both excellent desserts- tart, smooth and not too sweet. The only complaint we have is the noise level- some people become quite loud and make it uncomfortable for other clients who would like to hear their friends just across the table!"

  • "Food was creative, tasty, not over salted (important to a lot of diners these days), cooked just right, and appropriately varied - we liked each dish. Service was friendly, courteous and attentive - made us feel welcome. Wine list was impressive, but could benefit from a few more reasonably priced good tasting wines that are available. Ambiance a little cool, lacked warmth - table cloths might assist. Haven't tried brunch, but will try to see whether kid-friendly one day soon. It is readily apparent that management is trying hard to fine tune quality and service to the diner's preferences."

  • "It was "Dine Out Vancouver" so it was extremely busy and yet our server was outstanding! Before we even thought to ask for something he was already bringing it to our table...a very proactive/intuitive approach, without being bothersome. We both went with the 3 course meal choice and it was great. The only thing this restaurant needs is an interior upgrade to make the ambience more inviting, hence why I said it may be better for lunch rather than a dinner/Hot spot. My friend and I sat in two heavy leather club chairs which were very cumbersome to move and too low to the table. The owner was a very gracious and caring host. We would go back ,as the place has a very welcoming vibe."

Our only complete was my husband's "winter" salad, which so obviously was salad taken straight from a bag with a very light dressing and dollop of goat cheese. Aside from the disappointing salad though, everything else was great."

  • "Have eaten here before, and have always found the food to be pretty good. Went this time on Valentine's day and tried the set menu. Found there was too much emphasis on seafood and shellfish (the only significant appetizer was shellfish - no other choices - and the two entree choices were fish and lamb). The mussels on the appetizer platter were a bit overcooked, and the fish was merely okay. The lamb was good. The dessert, meant to be for two people, was tiny, and for 80 dollars pretty person, we expected more overall."

  • "My husband and I frequent Provence Marinaside primarily in warmer months, as the outdoor patio is perfect for people watching. Menu features are so delectable, I find it difficult to choose. Go with friends so sharing possible, and make certain at least one orders wild mushroom ravioli. Not to be missed! My favourite -- and friends I introduce to it, agree. Ambiance inside restaurant is quite different and can be difficult acoustically on a Friday or Saturday night. Hard surfaces contribute to sound bounce. Otherwise, service always friendly, informed and sometimes too familiar... but we're OK with that. Those of an older demographic may prefer a more formal server. But again, we are fine with the way we are treated there. Like family."

  • "There were four of us but unlike our friends, it was our first visit. The service was good, the food very tasty and according to my husband the wine pairing a real joy to experience. We had a table near the wall but I think if we were sitting in the middle it would be too noisy to hear the other people at the table. We would definitely go back again; this time, have brunch or lunch. Parking was not a problem and the view walking to the restaurant was great. I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the lamb shank. The salads and desserts were a nice complement to the main course."

  • "Food was good, I ordered seafood bouillabaisse and it is very very good. The dessert is awesome too, selection is good. However I was very disappointed about the noise level. It is as noisy as a pub, we have to yell across the table and to be honest, for their price level, I was not happy at all. The tables were so close to each other and they squeeze tables, chairs whichever they want to fit big party. There is a big empty spot in one corner because they moved always those tables. I was bumped no less than 10 times by either their staff or other guests walked around. The staff dropped stuff under my chair a few times as well. I love their food, but I really would not come back, because it is very noisy and hate people bumping into me"

The evening was such a treat, as I don't go to restaurants that often, as most seem to be glamorized fast food. The dining experience was wonderful...only negative comment would be the noise level was a bit high. Thank you for reasonably priced, excellent food. Only 1 other thing ...the women's washroom needed soap"

First time we have had rouille served with the bouillabaisse here, like in Provence!. The beef tenderloin, salads and desserts were excellent too. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and price of the recommended house wine. We left very satisfied. Wished more restaurants in the dineout program would also do their best to showcase their specialities. In recent years, we found some restaurants reducing portions as well as the quality of ingredients, such as cheaper meat and seafood. My husband and son even went home hungry on one occasion!."

The staff are experts at providing excellent service without seeming to interrupt the flow of the conversation of the diners. We all choice the Dine Out menu which has a great selection and was delicious. Thank you again for a wonderful evening."
