ProspectGreat Fort Greene SceneDelicious cocktails, open concept kitchen and excellent ambience are all reasons to come to Prospect. The food is hip and interesting without being over the top- the pork belly, lobster roll, and halibut are all phenomenal- great place to come for a dinner date or just for a small group dinner with cocktails. I've recommended Prospect to many friends, and will continue to hit it up for good food on the regular.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSoft Shell Crab HeavenWonderful soft shell grabs, with eastern spices that complement and don't overpower the natural flavor.
Terrific selections a wines at very fair prices. I had a $74 Rhone that was the best I have ever had.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSpoiled my palletMy husband and I enjoyed the chef's tasting, and it was wonderful. The only problem is that the food was so incredible that I'm afraid I won't enjoy "regular" food as much as I used to.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surpriseA great dining spot near BAM and Barclays. Excellent upscale food, good wine/cocktail list, friendly and efficient service, no attitude at all.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA foodie prospectI wasn't sure what restaurants were around BAM, but was very happy that open table listed this one. The staff is warm & friendly and the food... wow. I'm not a foodie, though I could see myself becoming one if all restaurants were like Prospect. Great cocktail selection and I'm pretty sure I cleaned my plate.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new Fort Greene RestaurantThe food selections and combinations were great and a very interesting. 1/2 of our dishes were amazing and the other half was very good, but just missing some flare and taste compared to the other dishes. We will definatly go back as the overall experience was very good and the servers were very receptive to honest feedback.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMeticulously prepared, inventive,Meticulously prepared, inventive, and exquisitely presented food -- a feast for the eyes before delight for the palate. The dining bar facing the open kitchen is a great place for one or two diners. The music is louder than I usually enjoy while dining -- and the great vibe, great food and appreciative crowd more than make up for it.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food! Very convenientExcellent food! Very convenient to BAM; we ate early, before performance, but I will find out whether they are open after a performance. Will definitely go back. Pricier than neighborhood restaurants but the food was several cuts above others.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is fantastic. WeThe food is fantastic. We may have been skeptical of Fulton location, but were transported the moment we entered. We ordered from the Dinner menu (not the tasting), and the specials in particular were outstanding.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of BAM's neighborhoodYou can do no better within a few blocks of BAM than this tiny, friendly contemporary American bistro. The black bass is crisp and robustly seasoned on the outside, light and delicate on the inside. The roasted cauliflower is a heavenly meal in itself, with an herbed bread crumb topping and an infusion of Parmesan flavor. (Add a few drops of lemon juice and you'll have an unforgettable experience.)4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPromising ProspectWe went for the first time for my partner's birthday. The service was excellent, the room is understated romantic, the food is at times almost overstated --with each side having its own over the top special preparation (eg peanut butter-stuffed date), but overall was excellent, with an unusual lamb belly with smoked yoghurt sauce that was to die for and a melt in your mouth foie gras as first rate appetizers. The mains were less exciting - the month-aged duck special tasted too bland for that treatment and the roast suckling pig was delicious but not special. But for dessert, when I explained it was a birthday and asked them to put a candle in the cake, they not only did that, but also wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on the plate!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMChef's Bar FunWonderful food and Wine....the bar was busy as well.....Fun to sit at the chef's bar and watch the action...4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCocktails were made well,Cocktails were made well, and the service was very attentive. The food was inventive and tasty, but I knocked it down to 4 stars because there was a consistent low temperature issue with all of the dishes, and the lamb belly was a bit overcooked. Still very good, but a bit disappointing because I bet the dishes served at their proper temperature would have been even better.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was super tasty and atmosphereFood was super tasty and atmosphere was perfect for date night on a wednesday. More importantly, it is a small but superb menu - across the board - and the relaxed enviornment makes it easy to sit back and enjoy the taste.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfection!I can't handle how good Prospect is - whether it's the food or the service - you can't go wrong. The tasting menu is particularly exciting. I've gone several times and had the tasting menu twice. The last time I went with a group and we ordered off the menu. The big hit was the grilled octopus - and I have to tell you I really hate any of the "chewy" foods (squid, clams, octopus) but this was amazing.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsOne of the best restaurants in the Ft. Greene/Clinton Hill area. Elevated cooking.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Highly recommendGreat food. Highly recommend this place. We'll be back.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe flavors are unique andThe flavors are unique and delicious. It is a casual atmosphere, nice space, with great service. We live in New York and made the trip based in a recommendation and would definitely do it again.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, top 5 in Brooklyn..Excellent food, top 5 in Brooklyn......excellent wine list, interesting bottles at fair prices....good service....comfortable place......GO !3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent neighborhood optionWent for an early Saturday night(545pm) dinner reservation which I got last minute. My wife and I both had the tasting menu, a couple of the signature cocktails, and a few glasses of wine. The tasting menu was very good and at $80 a decent value. Everything was very well prepared and the flavors worked sometime to soaring heights and other times just as "hm thats pretty good." The best dish was the ricotta w/ spinach topped with seared foie gras. As with many tasting menus, you'll be hungry about an hour after you eat but I would not consider that a knock on the food. The cocktails were excellent, especially the Prospect Sour. The service was beyond reproach - the perfect embodiment of relaxed yet helpful brooklyn service.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMProspect has a buzz from theProspect has a buzz from the minute it opens at 5:30. The food combinations are adventurous -- almost always with amazing results. Just be ready for music at bar volume, not fine dining volume.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAn outstanding neighborhoodAn outstanding neighborhood find in Ft Greene. Dining bar overlooking kitchen is place to sit for the Chef's tasting menu which he makes up on the spot based on your likes/dislikes. Then you can watch it being prepared. The wine flight was very good also, some interesting choices. Convenient to BAM and Barclay Center, but for tasting menu recommend make it a destination meal.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOverrated. Wonderful promisingOverrated. Wonderful promising menu, but unimpressed with the execution.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA really really good restaurant.A really really good restaurant. Seats overlooking the spotless and efficient kitchen are best to watch this well oiled team turn out wonderful food. Tasting menu which we didn't have time for, but plan to return to try. Very helpful and fast service. Truly a gem.1/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
