A word from Prosecco
Prosecco, in the heart of the River North Gallery District, is a chic, yet welcoming restaurant serving comfort foods from all 20 regions of Italy and Chicago's largest selection of sparkling wine. The decor, inspired by the faded, gilded beauty of Venice, is filled with silk damask drapes, carved wood chandeliers and gold-framed artwork. The coup de grace is the 35' long bar, hand burnished to resemble a piece of antique Venetian furniture. The bar serves Italian finger food and offers a wide selection of European spirits. Enjoy classic comfort foods -- from house-made pasta to nightly beef, fish and game menu additions. Dine with the Chef at the Carpaccio bar, where a selection of fresh cured and smoked meats and the freshest fish, are sliced nightly. Prices are moderate, but those wishing to indulge in an evening of culinary mischief will not be disappointed!Continued

  • "The service was wonderful right from the start. The kitchen prepares the best variety of choices. We recommend this restaurant for special occasions or for a nice evening out."

  • "Beautiful decor, interesting menu- you can tell the people doing this restaurant know Italy- lots of nice details in the decor and on the menu- our waiter was very good- very quiet on a Wed. afternoon- made for a nice place to visit old friends. Pasta dishes are huge so you might want to split them- interesting pasta dishes- very fresh Nice wine list too ! Love the touch of a taste of Prosecco when you arrive."

  • "They started us out with a glass of Prosecco (on the house) which was a nice touch. The service was great and the dishes were exemplary. The stand out were the avocado salad and the mushroom orichette. They even upgraded our wine at no additional charge when the bottle we ordered was unavailable."

  • "Had the one bad waiter at first but then replaced with excellent service. Good wine selection at reasonable prices. Excellent tuna, scallops, and veal. Highly recommended."

  • "We went here for our four year anniversary. I commented in my reservation and they gave us one of the best tables. Our server was great, he and the manager congratulated us when we first arrived. They have an excellent wine list, the gnocchi Gorgonzola was one of the best I've had. It had toasted walnuts which I doubted but I took the risk and it was worth it. We also got the cavatelli con gamberi. It was on the lighter side but the shrimp were great."

  • "If you are interested in Italian regional cooking, this is the place. The menu is quite small which is the first clue to exceptional food... just like in Italy. Every single thing we ordered was amazing, and the staff was very accommodating in allowing my wife and I to share dishes. The Chef is to be complimented on the authenticity of every single thing we ate.The presentation of the food was without pretense and served in a timely and well executed manner. The service was without a doubt the best we have ever encounter. We were made to feel at home in this very elegant setting even though we were dressed quite casually. I have no reservations in giving Prosecco my very highest accolades, a restaurant of the very highest quality."

  • "On entering the restaurant we received a friendly welcome ,my first impression was very positive and that theme continued all evening. The service was attentive but not over the top,the timing between courses was just right and the food was wonderful. I will certainly return to Prosecco ."

  • "Skip the grilled calamari, be sure to order any version of the delicious burrata! Ambience is second to none. Not trendy super classy and the waiters know their wines"

  • "We went for a special occasion and it was special in the wrong way! The ambience was not romantic. The service was poor we felt ignored because we didnot order much alcohol our order was wrong . No real apology. Definitely wouldnot ever go back!!!"

  • "I was referred to Prosecco by a Chicago resident. The atmosphere, food, service, wine was amazing. We were a group of 5, and got to sit in a special private room. It was the perfect night to celebrate my 30th birthday. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who goes to Chicago!"

  • "I took three clients to dinner from out of town. All three raved about the restaurant and especially the food saying it was one of the best meals they have ever had in their lives. No joke. Simply outstanding restaurant."

  • "My family has been there twice and I have to say that I'm so impressed by the food and the impressive service. I've tried many Italian restaurants in the area < Osteria Via Stato, Sienna Tavern, and many others, and I have to say that Prosecco has far better service and food."

  • "I would definately suggest this place to people if they wanted a very loud evening in which you literall have to scream across the table to whoever your with. If you sit in the back room it feels as is you are sitting in the middle of a college frat party. Food was decent but the fact that you couldnt even have a conversation ruined the night."

  • "I booked Prosecco for an anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was pleasant and the wait staff was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the mussels in a delicious cream sauce and the butternut squash soup was tasty. I ordered the ribeye which was delicious, tender, and juicy. For dessert I would highly recommend their mango sorbet. My only complaint is that while the ambiance is nice and romantic (candle lit, cozy, etc.), Prosecco is very loud. So it is ideal for large groups but less ideal for an intimate conversation between you and your significant other."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Prosecco. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable (food, wine), and attentive. The food was very tasty and nciely presented. We enjoyed the pace of dinner and the ability to carry a conversation among a relatively crowded dining area."

  • "My third time to eat at Prosecco and a wonderful meal with my new man. His first time. We are together again after 48 years and celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday the 15th. Can't say enough about the food, the ambience and Jacob our server who was very attentive. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Prosecco has an interesting menu and it's food quality, inventiveness and taste exceeds expectations. We shared a Burrata antipasti, gnocchi gorgonzola, scallops with spinach & vanilla, double cut pork chop with mashed potatoes and flourless chocolate cake and tiramisu. Everything was served beautifully and was delicious. Ambiance is charming and reminds one of a restaurant reminiscent of those in Venice. Experience was fantastic sans service. Sad to say, if you're not drinking while dining at Prosecco, you're not warmly welcome at the restaurant and they want you to leave pronto. That's exactly how our server made us feel. We had 6 items, $116, 2 diners. I tipped 22%, but doubt that was enough for what was an obnoxiously greedy waiter."

  • "The food was magical and beautiful, service was tops, and the experience was was really perfect. Great place, great food, and a great visit."

  • "It was romantic because they sat us upstairs. It was quiet, dimly lit with candelabras burning real wax candles around the room. Normally they do not open the upstairs dining room but since it was Valentine's weekend they did. Generally only celebrities and sport figures go upstairs for privacy. The main floor was very busy and so much louder, tables seemed close together. Food and service were very good. Management went out of their way to try and accommodate us. Overall a good experience, only disappointment was the Diavolo was NOT spicy at all!! Not even close, tasted like marinara sauce."

  • "Menu sufficiently diverse for neighborhood gem; service was excellent. Dined at early seating when restaurant was transitioning from upscale bar to quiet dinner atmosphere; the transition went well. note of excellence compared to most American restaurants - the staff waited until both diners were finished with each course before clearing the service and inquired if it was ok. While the waiter was almost overbearing, he was well-intended and informed. Having experienced top restaurants and wines in Italy, I enjoyed the casual elegance and unpretentious atmosphere with good wine list and excellent main course choices (pasta was excellent) in an up and coming neighborhood star - worth the visit to a relaxing, unpretentious, neighborhood gem."

  • "Food and Service was very good. Although we were the first guests to arrive, they seated us right in the middle of a walkway. We even had a reservation. We had to ask to be moved."

  • "We had a nice evening as always at Prosecco. A group of 4 with great service. 3 of the 4 dishes were delightful. The 4th was a pasta with Salmon that lacked flavor. The Salmon had lemon on it but you could barely taste the lemon-which the server highlighted. The ambiance can't be beat! Very romantic, easy to talk and catch up with friends and starting with a little champagne is always a nice touch. We like Prosecco!"

  • "The atmosphere is virbrant, light and joyful. The food has been consistently delicious! So delicious that I even asked the chef for a recipe! Prosecco is the restaurant we choose for special celebrations, for guests from out of town, for a romantic meal for two, for fun with friends... It's just a lovely place to be!"

  • "We enjoyed the $44 prefix menu and the caprese salad with wine pairings. It was magical! The food was really good, very impressed and I will be going back for real Italian, cooked well."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "The service and ambiance of this place was great but while the food was very good I don't think it is worth the high prices they are charging. Nothing was special or stood out throughout my meal. There are just too many italian restaurants in the Chicagoland area to pay those prices for that type of food."

  • "This time had the lobster/avocado salad, orecchiette tartufate, beef risotto, and lemon sorbetto. The avocado/lobster salad and the orecchiette tartufate were fantastic. The risotto felt a bit overcooked, though the beef was delicious, melting in the mouth. The lemon sorbetto had something in it that made it less refreshing than it should have been for a lemon sorbetto. Overall - great, not to be missed."
