  • "Food was good but was expecting more for the price. We sat outside to eat to enjoy the great weather but it was so dark you could barely read the menu. The only lighting was a candle at your table. Don't eat outside after the sun sets if you'd like to see your dining partner's face."

  • "First visit to Proof -recommended by a few friends. The decor is outstanding inside/out; very warm and welcoming. We sat outside on the patio and the view was incredible - sun setting right behind Pinnacle Peak. Outstanding service. The best I can say about the menu is that it was very challenging to find something we wanted. Lots of options, but not many that either sounded good, or didn't break the bank. Unusual dishes and would have like to see a few more in the "norm." May try again for a romantic dinner??"

  • "The meatloaf was amazing! The rest was OK. (I'm not a fan of "al dente" vegetables.) The view was great. The staff was too overly helpful to the point of annoying. We were asked 6 or 7 times by different servers if we were done and needed a box while we were still working on our food. I'd prefer a server dedicated to my table. Nice for a fancy date out. Definitely not a day to day type of place unless you're loaded! :)"

  • "We were excited to drive up to the Four Seasons for a great meal in a beautiful part of town. The drive as expected was spectacular. Food, service & overall experience was mediocre at best. Overpriced lobster roll & one poor excuse for cioppino. I should have known better than to order something like that as opposed to a simple, basic meal: but I was at the Four Seasons, so it had to be good, right? Fries with Lobster Roll came out warm-not hot, as did the cioppino & bread with it. 3 shrimp, 2 small pieces of fish and 5 mussels in a spicy marinara sauce is not cioppino. Do it right, or take it off the menu. We tried it, and realized that it served it purpose: to be an on site, medium priced option for folks staying at the resort."

  • "Proof deservedly were named one of the best new Phoenix restaurants in 2013. We had lunch, brunch and dinner at Proof. The fish and chips are really nice with the fish fresh as can be (and not greasy) and the traditional malted vinegar offered. For the buffet brunch, our favourites were the peach waffle - beautiful crispy outside melt in your mouth, peach and apple French toast and the omelette. Dinner - burger was disappointing - certainly not the best as claimed: just okay. The service was awesome - very attentive to every detail but not over-brearing"

  • "This restaurant is really nice inside! Fun place within a beautiful resort. I had the short ribs, and my son has the blackened salmon. We both loved our food, but the price was VERY high for what we got. Even my wine came with a hefty price, just for the "house" stuff!"

  • "There were 4 of us for dinner. Two burgers & two salads. One burger was ordered medium rare but was delivered well done. The staff graciously offered to prepare another one but the 2nd one was raw. My salad with grilled chicken was mediocre at best. The other salad was ordered with sliced steak - medium rare - but was delivered well done. We were offered free deserts and ordered sorbet. Unfortunately this sorbet was practically tasteless. The staff couldn't have been more gracious but that doesn't make up for the substandard food. All in all, a shocking experience for a Four Seasons Resort."

  • "VERY hard to find even with a GPS. LOUD & NOISY at 5:30 with only a few (10 at the most) people in the whole bar/restaurant. Ala carte dining with exorbitant pricing & lacking any ambiance. We would NOT go back or recommend it to our friends."

  • "We were excited to try the place and found the atmosphere unique and fun. Server was attentive enough, although when appetizers never arrived but entrees did instead, there was no attempt to correct or even further acknowledge in any way. Not even an I'm sorry! Inexcusable for a hotel of this caliber."

  • "We are locals and dine here frequently. The food is consistently excellent, as is the service. The dining room can be loud and the tables too close to one another for an intimate dining experience, but still a definite "must dine"."

  • "Proof is our favorite neighborhood spot. Great menu too...something for everyone. Have a burger, some great appetizers or a dinner entree....haven't had a meal here we didn't love. And, hang at the Four seasons bar afterward on the patio overlooking the valley???a perfect night out or afternoon brunch or lunch."

  • "Another epic lunch at Proof. We sat on the outside patio which has incredible views of Pinnacle Peak and the surrounding area. I had the meatloaf sandwich with the house made kettle chips. I swear the chips were worth the price of admission alone and the sandwich had a nice roll that was lightly crisped with some bourbon glazed onions atop the meatloaf. Even better than the food was the service. Katyana (probably mispelled!) was our server and delightful as always. The only bittersweet part of the meal is the it was the last day for Graham, the General Manager. He was like family to so many guests and he will be sorely missed. So if you have never been here, what are you waiting for?"

  • "Food on menu is an odd mix. Hostess and wait staff need better service training. Wait time for food long. Active children at other tables are a distraction. Staff should space and seat appropriately as restaurant was not full."

  • "Not what I expected at an elegant hotel- calm, sedate , white glove service. Anything but. And it was great because of the concept of the restaurant . It was great upscale down home comfort food, friendly service and funky ambiance.will never have another Christmas Day dinner like it ."

  • "Took my daughter out for sunset dinner on her 22nd birthday with 19 year old son and wife. Sat on the patio (with space heaters on - we are Arizona wimps I admit) at sunset and were treated to spectacular views, just right friendly service and scrumptious food from the simple yet very tasted pretzel knots, duck french fries, salmon, seafood stew, 'the best' hamburger and chicken with waffles. The servers (I wish I remembered names but waitress was from Costa Rica) provided charm and warmth without being overbearing. They accommodated every request we had. Highly recommend this for views and special occasions if you are looking for a moderately casual atmosphere."

  • "Not only does Proof provide just the right measure of personable service and great comfort food menu items in a casual cantina environment, their duck fries offer poutine lovers something to savor. Our bartender, John, took excellent care of us and introduced us to some regional spirits that we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. We'll definitely be back."

  • "Lovely to visit here in the setting of the Four Seasons. Staff are attentive and pleasant. Food is quick out of the kitchen and very tasty. Reasonable prices. The 4 wines now available on draft are good - not as full bodied as the bottles would be of the same wines I'm pretty sure - pricing is moderate for the drinks/wine. Have been here several times - all have been good experiences."

  • "Proof is one of those restaurants that keeps getting better the more you go. The food is incredible (I recommend the double-cut pork chop), the views are spectacular and the service can't be beat. The staff is overly friendly and is what keeps us coming back. The more you go, the better they get to know you. They make us feel like family. Graham, the GM keeps a watchful eye on all of his guests and always takes a moment to acknowledge you despite what he might be engrossed in at the time. The bartender John took a moment to come out and let us know about their selection of American made spirits and to invite us to try anything we might be curious about. Even the back staff took time out to say hello. This is how a restaurant should be done!"

  • "We celebrated our 45th Anniversary and wanted a casual, fun place with outstanding food and not ridiculously expensive. Proof was the perfect place. The menu is trendy (chicken & waffles) and local. Great comfort food! It's a relaxing sports bar with comfy sofas, high & low tables, even a shuffleboard table! Our server was Cesar who made us laugh and was attentive. I had the flank steak special. It was...perfect! My husband had a fabulous pork chop. We were treated with yummy Fried Green Tomatoes while we waited for our dinner prep as it was a bit lengthy. The dessert chef, Stephanie, prepare an amazing celebratory dessert. We had such fun we came back the next day for brunch and watched a football game. A perfect evening in a perfect place!"

  • "We had meatloaf and salmon, both were very good. The wait staff is nice to overbearing. Why take away my husband's wine glass, even if it is empty, when I am still drinking mine. Tables are cleared when the whole meal is finished. Restaurant not crowded but we were sat next to one of the only other filled tables. Makes no sense. Seems like a young staff managing a Four Seasons restaurant. They need some seasoning!"

  • "The Four Seasons Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ has finally opened a secondary restaurant worthy of the Four Seasons brand. Proof is a combination sports bar (many tv's) and casual dining spot. The area away from the bar and patio are suitable for families and groups not interested in sports. The menu is eclectic with a southern flavor (shrimp and grits, fried chicken and waffles), but I opted for the lobster roll which was spectacular--expensive but huge and melt in your mouth tender. We live in the area and return for that."

  • "We had dined they once before and enjoyed it. We took some guests from out of town this time and were very disappointed. The music was so loud we could not carry on a conversation and even though we asked several times to have it turned down, nothing was done. The food also was a major disappointment. Certainly nothing special and certainly not what you would expect more from The Four Seasons."

  • "A terrific option for families where parents want to eat something decent and make sure the kids have good options. Kids will love it as they have games and dinner served on "tv dinner" trays. Kids options go beyond chicken fingers and mac&cheeese with items like salmon. Food is generally updates of american comfort food. All items we have tried were excellent. Service is friendly. Views of Pinnacle Peak and surrounding area make sunset dinners even better."

  • "We stayed at the Four Seasons and had dinner at Proof. It's a charming place, but was very loud inside so we chose the patio seating. We were "stuck in a corner" and did not feel there was much of a view from our seats. The seating was not all that comfortable. The lighting was very dark that we could not even see the menu without the aid of the light from our phones. The food was very good. We ordered an appetizer, the salmon dish and the lobster sandwich. All very good. The drinks were also delicious! After dinner, we then went inside and hung out in the bar. The noise level is appropriate for a bar, but not a restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed our food and drinks and our time in the bar. Not so much our uncomfortable seating outside."

  • "Enjoyed a nice breakfast for two on a Sunday morning. Service was unremarkable...seemed like we never had a dedicated server, which was not a good thing since none of them really paid close attention to us. For $65, I do expect my water glass and coffee cup to be filled regularly. Plus, it took way too long to get my dishes cleared and have the check delivered. Again, just seemed like we were in no man's land on the service side. That said, the food was very good -- what you'd expect from the Ritz-Carlton. The ambience on the outside patio was lovely for breakfast. We'd go back, and hope that the service is improved."

  • "First time was dinner in spring - incredible, creative dishes and rustic, charming old Americana decor. Lunch this time started w/the fried green tomatoes w/crab remoulade, XLNT. Boys had Waldorf sandwich and a burger, I had the veggie sandwich on whole grain bread - all wonderful. Minor minus, the cole slaw had no dressing in it! I took home to use with another meal with some lubrication. Their view of the desert landscape and some hotel casitas is lovely, and patio is well-shaded to avoid glare. Lovely people serve in checked gingham dresses or shirts, lovely diners also so please don't dress down for this exquisite neighborhood gem and destination. Memorable."

  • "Great staff, great food. Upscale casual in ambiance but elegant "foodie" food with top-line service from everyone - hostess, manager, numerous wait-staff (extra kudos to our server Abrielle - not really a server, more like a "Proof Experience Director"). A restaurant experience that can be different things - a bar/lounge that is comfortable and meant for staying a while with big screen tvs; indoor and outdoor seating offering great views any easy conversation; family-friendly with some ways to keep kids entertained; a little intimate/romantic if that is what you are after. In summary, I want to go back! If it was in my neighborhood, I would be there at least once a month if not more often!"

  • "We have a place right around the corner, but have never visited Proof before. We had a group of eight, the food was excellent, the views can not be beat, and the entire staff was extremely helpful in keeping our kids (8-12) entertained throughout dinner! I would highly recommend this place for a casual dining experience!"

  • "This restaurant at the Four Seasons is outstanding - love the decor; we sat on patio with views of Pinnacle Peak; service couldn't be better and the lemon ricotta pancakes and eggs benedict w/crab were the best I've ever had. Not to be missed!"

  • "Proof was the worst value of the dozens of restaurants we have dined in the Phoenix area. Sure it was at the Four Seasons, so you expect to be gouged, but seriously, this was the worst. The staff at "Phoenix Magazine" must have drank the Kool-Aid before they reviewed Proof in July. Surely it is geared towards family dining and the outdoor seating allowed us to get out of the interior zoo, but that is no excuse for the poor food. $19 for a marginal hamburger, $21 for meatloaf! Apparently the gravy was house made, had to be, it was full of lumps! The wait staff was superb. They were very attentive, but $130 for a mediocre dinner for two, never again."
