Promenade Cafe and WineYummy!!We all enjoyed our food very much. The mussels were fantastic - wanted more. Deserts were amazing. Floating Island superb - crème brulee - delicious. All four of us were extremely satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. All staff very pleasant and knowledgeable.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This restaurant is one of the most amazing restaurants in Winnipeg. It is a must visit.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentHaving eaten at Promenade a few times I can say that they never disappoint. Service is professional and friendly, the decor is warm and tasteful, the view of the provencher bridge is awesome. The menu is French, the quality of the food is excellent and the presentation is lovely. The noise levels at lunch time are high but its nice to see a locals owned and operated establishment be so busy. At night the volume levels seem lower for some reason. Probably just a different crowd.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat viewEnjoyed our lunch very much, had an excellent view of the Red River and the Provencher Bridge.
The Croissant au Prosciutto was very good, unfortunately could not accompany it with a Red wine.
The staff was excellent.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat local gem for weekend brunchI really enjoyed dining at the Promenade Cafe and Wine - so much that I visited 2 days in a row! The food is really good - feels like organic or Manitoba grown and tasty too. I very ofter will choose a place based on the coffee and this one has some of the best.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an outstanding 5 courseWe had an outstanding 5 course meal and wine pairing. The flavours were matched perfectly with the wines and the service was impeccable! Table at the window overlooking the bridge and the lights of downtown Winnipeg was delightful - and we didn't know there would be music too! Simply superb...6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful evening! We had a wonderful evening! One of the guests in our party was gluten intolerant - the serving staff was aware of the food prep and made good recommendations, as well the kitchen was prepared and able to accommodate her dietary restrictions. the musical duet was a bonus!!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMYum, Yum, Yum and More!Fantastic gem of a restaurant tucked away in St. Boniface. As a frequent brunch aficionado, the restaurant was already one of my favorites in the city. Now having eaten a celebration supper there, I am even more thrilled with the menu, service and atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. The peppercorn steak is to die for - savory and grilled to perfection! All food selections - grilled mushroom salad, salmon, pork tenderloins with maple glazing were amazing.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTop of the lineWe had a wonderful experience with great food and service. Although the restaurant was full, we could talk comfortable with minimal noise level and ample space between tables. Staff were attentive, but not overly so.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great serviceOur server was excellent - she kept all the orders straight for our large group of ten, was always available when we needed her, and we did not have one issue when she gave us our separate bills (on which we'd shared multiple things). I was so pleasantly surprised by the prices - very very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food and wine that we received! My one disappointment was that there was nothing chocolate-based available for dessert! I will definitely be returning!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointedThis was our 3rd dinner visit. Our group of four decided to order the prix fixe menu at 28$/person for 4 courses, (+16$ for wine pairings). We ordered a bottle of red at $40, which the group enjoyed.
Our meal and service were fantastic, as always. We started with pâté with grilled baguettes, pickled onion, pickles and a grainy mustard. Followed by an AMZING mushroom soup served over olive tapanade crostini. Our main was the most tender pork au jus and crisp roasted veggies. All portions were extremely generous, we took home quite a bit. We finished with dessert teacups of chocolate mousse with whipped cream & beignets. Heaven in a cup.
Great service, food & ambiance. Will become our regular dinner spot.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayMy children took me to the restaurant for Mother's day when each of them where available with their schedule. It is a cosy restaurant with great home cooked meals.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, slow serviceIf you have time to wait then by all means go there. The food was really good.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful mealI have been several times and each time is exceptional. The food is prepared with obvious expertise and care. What I noticed and everyone at my table noticed was even when we were finished and full and satisfied we were noticing the delicious scent of everyone elses food that came by us. yummmmmmmm. Thank you very much.
Cheryl
P.S. I apologize to my waiter yet again for accidentally punching him in the face. so sorry.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a fun Friday dinner.I really enjoyed my evening. Dinner with a friend, reservations, seated at the best view of the city! The food was wonderful - every bite was meant to enjoy. The wine went well. Loved the St. Boniface neighbourhood ambience! Our waitress was very attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable! I have been wanting to try this place for ages and it is well worth the effort. We had a wonderful experience here on a Friday night. Thank you!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceMy sister and I went for lunch on the weekend. Although we were running late (and called ahead to advise) the staff were still very friendly and it didn't feel as though we were putting them out. I had the procuito, pear & brie sandwich croisant with (side) house salad and the wine pariing - it was delicious! My sister had the salmon with carmellized red onion on a croisant with (side) poutine. Also quite good, although I preferred my choice (I am biased towards anything with pear and procuito however).
The view is excellent and noise level was not a bother. The table were cozy and we had a great view of the bridge/river. Can't wait to go back to try their dinner menu, loose tea and those amazing deserts in the display case!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
