Diner Reviews
  • "We sat in the dining room and were seated near the bar. Midway through our dinner, it was so loud you could barely hear the person opposite you. I suggest diners request to be as far away from the bar as possible or outside."

  • "I used to love this restaurant, but now will never return. They treated me and my guest like we were not even there. From missing orders to late food, it was an remarkably bad experience."

  • "We ate at the bistro several times during the week, and most of the meals were extremely salty to the point that we had to cut off the outer layer of the food to get to the non-salty part. The bread was good as was the roasted garlic. The desserts were fine. This season, the restaurant was disappointing. I was really looking forward to coming back here, and since we entertained a lot, it wasn't up to it's usual great standard. The wait staff was very nice, though. Of all the entrees we tried, the salmon was the best."

  • "My wife and I stopped for a quick bite after work and tried an old standby and a new dish. Both were excellent and we very much look forward to trying other items on the menu."

  • "Great food, outstanding service, good atmosphere....reminded us of Orange County California restaurants. Will definitely return and recommend."

  • "The food was great, creative and very delicious. The size of dishes are optimal, not too big as sometime you can find in NC. The ambiance is very pleasant, a bit cold/ In overall service was good. However starters arrived before we finished aperetif and the server missed the wine. But this wasn't so disturbing and was fixed immediately"

  • "We love this restaurant but this time, we were a little disappointed in the service. We dined early (6:00) in order to make a 7:30 curtain time. The food was good as usual but the service was only fair. We were never offered a second drink and our waiter was hard to find. Wanted a glass of wine with dinner after our cocktail but the waiter never returned. Love the restaurant and the food is always great. This will not deter me from returning but will look for a different waiter."

  • "Wish the food was as incredible as the ambiance. The evening started off great with drinks at the bar... it was all down hill from there. Waitress (slender & tall blonde) seemed annoyed before she even got to our table. There was no formal greeting or announcement of specials. I had the calamari which was over cooked and rubbery. The meditarreanean salad was superb and the duck confit was heavy on cheese and hazelnuts. Stick with the bar for drink bc the bartenders are incredible. Then go somewhere else for dinner. This place is overrated."

  • "I've had many "go to" restaurants in Greensboro over the years but my first choice is now Print Works Bistro! The food is superb, the service impeccable, and the ambiance makes you feel as though you are the only diners in the place. Hands down and forks up, Print Works Bistro is Greensboro's place to dine."

  • "My experience at Print Works Bistro was wonderful. From the waiting staff to the food, it was all very well worth the price. My wife and I were sat outside where we could hear the water flowing through a small creek. She had the filet mignon which was perfect (I had a bite), and I enjoyed the braised beef short ribs, which I ate every bite of. I also ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was excellent,. My wife as well enjoyed her wine. I would recommend Print Works to anybody wishing to experience a 5 star restaurant. We have only been once now, but I see that as only the beginning. I most certainly do intend to go back in the future. I am especially interested in trying the brunch as I have heard a lot of good things there."

  • "I recommend the wonderful salmon quinoa salad for lunch. The ambience was perfect and the waitstaff is superb, especially Claire who waited on our table! This restaurant is consistently one of the best in the area."

  • "Printworks Bistro is beautiful. I will go again just for the atmosphere. The food was okay and the service was a little better than okay, but the beauty of the space is what really sells it."

  • "Nothing could have been done better. Food was great with service even better with great music playing in the background by a duo. Definitely returning!!!!!"

  • "We have eaten here many times and it is always a great experience Wonderful environment, delicious food and attentive, knowledgable servers. If weather permits, the outdoor eating area is just beautiful! In short, always a great meal and experience."

  • "We love the ambience of Print Works along with the delicious food and wonderful servers! It has become our favorite restaurant in Greensboro - the one we pick for any special occasion."

  • "I was looking for a place for lunch on our college tour, between Durham and Winston Salem. Low and behold, this chic, delicious find, in The Proximity Hotel in essentially, an office park. It is beautifully designed and decorated in mustard yellow and white, with great outdoor furniture that I suspect, is packed after work. It overlooks a little stream and woods that belie it's location. My chicken pail lard was lemony and light and my daughter's grilled salmon was perfect. They substituted potatoes with haricot verts, and kept my Washburn(iced tea and OJ)refilled. After all the southern food and pig we've had, this was a lovely change. I only wish there was a college we were looking at, in Greensboro."

  • "My husband and I made a reservation for the Saturday night after being at the ACC basketball tournament. We had a little difficulty finding the restaurant since it is out in an area where there are several office buildings and a hotel. The restaurant has great ambience. The food was fantastic. The only problem was the service. I felt like we were being rushed. My entree arrived before I had finished my salad. Our check was served with dessert. There seemed to be a need to turn the table over although no one seemed to be waiting for a table."

  • "Four of us from out of the area (Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Winston-Salem) were planning to get together for dinner in Greensboro for a visit. We picked the Print Works Bistro based on its central location, the number of excellent reviews and the ability to make a reservation using Open Table. We knew nothing else about the restaurant but were completely thrilled with our choice! The food was excellent, the menu is varied and reasonably priced and the restaurant has a fun "vibe" that was perfect for our visit. We will definitely go back when in the area."

  • "The 4 of us were visiting Greensboro and wanted a special place to enjoy a peaceful enjoyable dinner. That is what we got here at Print Works. Foods was great, the best calamari ever. All four dinners were very good as well."

  • "Print Works Bistro is attached to the Proximity Hotel and sports an upscale interior juxtaposed with a stylish outdoor patio. There is a large wine list with excellent selections in almost every price range, and a decent selection of top shelf bourbons and ryes. The food is the real star, however. We started with the red dragon fondue, a beer-cheese fondue served with roasted vegetables and torn baguette. We moved on to a large portion of mussels served with fries, and finally split the bistro meatloaf, a bacon-wrapped meatloaf paired with green beans and creamed potatoes. The food was well-prepared and the servers were knowledgable and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and will visit again when I return to Greensboro."

  • "Whether it's a casual lunch with a friend or a business lunch with an important client, Print Works is one of my first choices."

  • "The food and service were outstanding. The table was ready before we arrived. Beautiful restaurant with neat small bar area. It does get a bit loud and there was live music on this night so conversation was a little strained. But it was an excellent fun spot with lots of personality."

  • "First time there and was so impressed with style, food, and wine list there will be many more experiences there."

  • "My sister and I went out for a Mom's night out/birthday celebration to Print Works. The waitress was sweet and friendly, the food was SO GOOD, and they spoiled my sister - I informed them on our reservation that it was her birthday, and she had a bad day, and they brought out a great dessert with candles. It was special and lovely."

  • "A wonderful experience with not only excellent food and wine but music besides."

  • "I have taken many friends to Print Works and they always comment that there is something for everyone. The service is excellent even when the place is extremely busy. We went Wednesday night for the mussels and music. Excellent evening. I hate to recommend it because it is already busy that evening, but I must confess it is worth it. Bon appetit!"

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in the area without a doubt."
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "Great Atmosphere, quaint with a little bit of French Laundry feel, service was quick but not very personable, wine list was good but somewhat abstract with lots of gems but very few notables! Food was solid but nothing that was breathtaking, mussels were good but the pomme Frits were greasy and lifeless. Entree was better, Salmon had nice flavor but Brussels sprouts were like something off of the hot bar at a Golden Corral. Dessert was by far the best with salted caramel drizzle over a wonderful spice pudding with creme fraiche. Would try this Bistro again, may have been an off night, the menu was fun and think it would be a consistent spot"

  • "With all of the hype, I expected service and food to be more polished. After eating half of myapp, quinoa, I asked the server to box up the rest as I would like to save room for my entree. He instead, boxed my entree to go and brought it to me. I asked him to replate it and I wanted to take my app home. He did and it came out luke warm (beef boug). The flavor was good, but it could have been better."

  • "We continue to enjoy and appreciate Print Works. Each visit confirms that the restaurant offers a great food and wine menu with nightly specials. I selected the salmon with grilled brussel sprouts and carrots. The salmon was cooked exactly to order, and the vegetables are not to be missed. My husband selected chicken pillard which is his favorite dish. The bread is always fresh, served with wonderful, creamy butter and a whole roasted garlic. We tried the new house wine, Bespoke, and found for our tastes that the Pinot Noire was far better than the cab. Our server was excellent. She continually checked on us without being intrusive. We selected a table looking over the patio using Open Table. It was perfect for a quiet night out."

  • "We usually dine in the evening and Today was an exception, decided to have brunch/breakfast at the restaurant. The hash was dried out and my egg over sourdough was not very well assembled nor did it taste good! My suggestion is stick to dinner!"

  • "Print Works has delicious food and the ambiance is great! The dining room is full of natural light from beautiful windows that look out on gardens, and the patio area is also beautiful. Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch, or weekend brunch."

  • "We took a guest there and were put off to begin with because we had to wait ten minutes for our table. (This was a Saturday night, and we have had better experiences on quieter evenings.) Bread plates were placed on the wrong side of the plates; there were no bread knives. Dessert pastry (profiteroles) was heavy, and tasted like the dish had been hastily unfrozen. I've had better out of a box from Trader Joe's. Not overwhelmed with this evening, but we have been there when it was more enjoyable."

  • "We had dinner at Print Works on Friday night. We made reservations through Open Table and were greeted immediately by the host staff. The food was great, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Loved the music in the background. This was our first time at this restaurant, and the only disappointment I had was the service. When paying these prices for this great food and ambience, you expect the service to match. Our server never introduced herself or made any recommendations. It was very much an order taking experience. We will go back again. Hopefully, the service during our next visit will make it a perfect overall experience."
