Print Restauranta treatWe have been to Print a few times. Food is excellent, setting, quiet and comfortable. Before dinner we had drinks upstairs on the roof. The food is good ,the service commendable. The ambience is contemporary and at the samev time homey and cozy.
Print was reccomended to me last year. It now has a hip new following so get there early if you want to have a drink on the roof and reservation are pretty much required. If the weather is poor, there are ample comfortable couches atoning the bar area.

A little noisier at dinner than at breakfast, but that's an occupational hazard when you serve wonderful food and use natural materials for the tables and walls. This time I had the poached eggs, which were cooked to perfection and nestled atop a sea of local, fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables, with a bit of speck and parmesan for saltiness and texture. It was delicious, unusual, so fresh and something worthy of a return visit. Don't miss this dish if you like eggs. When describing it to skeptical friends, I refer to it as a deconstructed omelet. Have eaten there before on several occasions and always find the food quite good. The service was truly outstanding. Our waitperson was extremely professional and attentive. She has waited on us before and remembered us, figured out it was my birthday and brought a birthday dessert. She was extremely thoughtful! The entire staff at Print is fabulous but this one person truly stood out. Upon our waiters suggestion, we had for appetizers the gnocchi and the bruschetta. The gnocchi was more of a dough pasta with a goat cheese sauce over it along with peas and asparagus, de-lish! The bruschetta was toasted bread spread with fresh ricotta, grilled scallions, basil and fava beans. I could have had the apps and left! For our entree's we had the short ribs and the grilled pork chop. The flavor of the topping on the pork chop was amazing, sweet but not too much, unfortunately I found the pork chop itself to be a little tough. The short ribs were tender and flavorful! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. They were very attentive and made the experience very relaxing. I tried the kale salad, braised beef, and then the cookie plate. The whole meal was really good...everything seemed very fresh and we all agreed that our dishes had a lot of flavor. Our server saw me opening graduation cards and she asked if we were celebrating. I told her it was my graduation. When she brought out the other desserts, she also brought the chocolate cake with congratulations written on the plate. The decor is stylish and the food is across the board excellent. It's also across the board expensive (well, this is Manhattan) and the menu and wine list are limited (I am guessing about 10 entrees and 30 wine choices). They are very good choices, just not a lot of them. Short ribs were excellent.
When, in a nearly empty restaurant, the next arriving couple is seated about 24 inches from us, I did wonder about staff training.
