Diner Reviews
  • "The waiter was not attentive to our table. Ordered an incorrect salad, slow response on replacing it which caused a delay in our main course. We had to ask another waiter when we needed other items and refills. This is the third visit to this restaurant and we had service issues two of the three times."

  • "Overall, I would say this was a good dining experience. At 6:30 pm on a Thursday, the place was pretty empty. While I thought the quality of the food was good, the menu seemed old world. Not very contemporary. the Calimari looked like it came from a bag. The stuffed chicken was excellent I was surprised when the check came. Pretty pricey, when our only drink was a bottle of Pellegrino. If it's always this quiet, then it's a great place for a special meal. Other than that, I doubt I will return."

  • "The food was fair to good but the service was very good. There was no bread served, only sesame seed crackers which is unheard of at an Italian restaurant. There are other Italian restaurants in Charlotte that are much better all around (food, price and ambiance) when compared to the Primo Tuscan Grill."

  • "Dined twice this week. Already had reservations for Valentines Day when we lost our power the day before. Fortunately, Primo was open and we had a wonderful meal after a long cold day. The special menu for Valentines Dinner the next evening was wonderful with both of us selecting the Beef Wellington."

  • "We made dinner reservations 2 weeks out to dine at Primo. We were seated at our table within 10-15 mins as our table wasn't ready on time. We did not mind waiting for the table; however, once we were seated, we never had a waiter approach us. After being seated for THIRTY MINS we decided to leave. Only upon standing up, did a waiter walk up to us and ask us what was wrong. My husband told him we had been sitting at the table for 30 minutes without any assistance. The waiter mumbled something - but no apology - and walked off. Can't review the food because we never had any. We thought we might get a phone call with an apology later since the restaurant had our name/number due to our res, but that didn't happen either. AWFUL customer service."

  • "Food was good, not great. Actual menu was much smaller than that on their website. Service was poor. Waiter was frantic (although when we we arrived there were many open tables), any courtesy was perfunctory. He asked about our food after we were finished, he never asked if we would care for another beverage. He literally flung the check on the table as he was walking by. Restaurant was loud. Tables were much too close together. Man at a nearby table got bumped numerous times by patrons walking by. Food was good, but not good enough to put up with everything else that is wrong."

  • "We went during restaurant week. Appetizer was chopped salad. Strange tangy taste. Filet was over cooked and creme' brûlée was cold. Waiter was inattentive but bartender was great."

  • "Primo is an Italian Gem in Eastover. The food and decor are great and so is the service. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own steak knife as theirs are horrid."

  • "Primo is a terrific restaurant. The staff is always friendly, and food terrific. Always recommended. If restaurant week is your first experience at Primo, be sure to go back. The full menu and specials are great, and it's not so hectic. Reasonably priced for a high end restaurant."

  • "I have wanted to go to Primo for a while now and a friend and I decided to go for Queen's Feast Restaurant Week. We both enjoyed our meals very much. Our waiter did a great job at giving us recommendations for wine and helping us choose between the menu items that we were considering. The atmosphere is cozy and there are beautiful paintings on the walls throughout the restaurant. I would definitely go back to this restaurant based on the food, service, and atmosphere."

  • "Food was good but not extraordinary. And the service was ok but drinking glasses stayed empty."

  • "The food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't amazing. I ordered the lasagna, and honestly there are better Italian foods out there. Chef Boyarde as more taste and spices, the service was great, the mixed drinks were perfect, the decor, the table and everything was great, just the food was okay."

  • "When we arrived we were greeted and quickly shown to our table. The wait staff was excellent and the atmosphere was nice however, the food was dismal at best. We both ordered fish, hers was the special of the day and it was bland. Mine had some flavor but it looked like a frozen piece that was warmed up in the oven, and the plating was armature at best. I paid over $100 for the dinner and I could have done better with three packages from the frozen section and 40min time with a hot oven and a microwave. Again the service and ambience were great, but was sorely disappointed in the food. I will not recommend this place to any of my friends or return myself because the food was that bad."

  • "I can't recommend this place for anything. The food was horrible and the service was so poor the waiter never greeted us or told us his name. The veal hemingway could have ben cooked when he was alive."

  • "The food was wonderful. The service was impeccable. Even thought I went during restaurant week I was impressed with the quality of food and service. My party of four all enjoyed their selections."
