Primebar ChicagoThe go to placePrime Bar has become the pick to accommodate business lunches of 6 or under if you're looking for an upscale ambiance, decent menu, and tolerable noise level. It is a great space, but needs to work on the bottleneck at the host stand if servers are trying to get food to tables outside, while guests are waiting for tables. Reservations highly recommended.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBusiness LunchWe had a great business lunch where everyone of the 3 guests at the table had some sort of a special order - no blue cheese, no nuts, salmon cooked medium rare. We were all very happy with our meals and especially happy with our server.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it a second timeWe sat outside and it was a beautiful day. Our server was helpful with the food and wine selection. I only had an appetizer this time because the group wanted to go elsewhere for dinner. There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu. As I mentioned before, great food blends with awesome seasoning.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is great.Everything has a unique taste. The pork taco apps are awesome and steak quesadilla was wonderful. I will be back to try other things on the menu. All of it looked and smelled delicious as they served others. They had a small but good variety of wines. It was not very crowded and our server kept filling our waters as we sat there for almost two hours. She never made us feel rushed. Loved it.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery ConvenientMy coworkers and I wanted to get out of the office for lunch and Primebar is right next door so that was very good. The service was fast and the food was very good.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLunchWent to lunch at say outside. Very nice ambiance. Food was great. I had the steak salad. The steak was especially tender and high quality. I would reccomend trying. This was my second trip to this restaurant.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistentBoth the food and service remain consistently good. I never have a problem taking a client here because I know they will enjoy it.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the SpecialsI have had lunch here about a half dozen times in the last 6 months and each time I am amazed at the specials which are inventive and well-priced. I recently had a chorizo flat bread pizza with fresh mozzarella and fontina cheese, and onions and it was wonderful. I try to save room for dessert and go with the sorbet selection. Service is usually very good and if you need to get in and out in an hour, that can easily be done. Cost per person ranges from $15 - $30.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place Great FoodThis restaurant is right next door to my office so we go here a lot but the best part is that we love it. I usually find the best restaurant are always far from me, but Prime Bar as proved me wrong.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI'd reccommend itSeems like a local hangout for those lucky enough to live in downtown Chicago, meaning past 8 on weekdays there are a lot of empty tables. I can imagine on the weekends this place would be packed, it's very spacious and the bar is centrally located. Staff was friendly and helpful, menu was for the most part predictable but everything was excellently prepared. Great beer and an overall great experience.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant for theatre goersWe were looking for a restaurant close to the Palace Theatre. We usually go to the same restaurant when going to the theatre and wanted to try something different. What a great reataurant for theatre goers - nice selection for all tastes. We will definitely think of this restaurant first for our next show.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a business lunch...notGreat for a business lunch...not too noisy to carry on a conversation across the table.
Food was excellent and good variety.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Prime Bar forI have been to Prime Bar for lunch several times and drinks after work; I have alwasy enjoyed myself and recommend it when asked for a good place to go.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for lunch! All the staff was courteous, accommodating and efficient. The food was delicious. Loved the Bento box for lunch!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Pre-Show Dinner OptionI had a great experience at Primebar. There are very few good spots open for dinner in the business district, which is full of lunch places. Primebar had great ambiance and delicious food. The cocktails were delicious, the appetizers came very quick, and the food was delicious. Good portion sizes and very reasonable prices, especially for the Loop.
Our server was friendly, and even gave us a free appetizer because it was our first time visiting. We had a 6:00pm reservation and made it out in time to catch our 7:30pm show at the Cadillac Palace theatre down the street. This is a great place for after work dinner and drinks, or for a pre-show dining experience.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and great foodGreat service and great food makes Primebar our defacto restaurant before attending downtown theater events. This place always has an electric vibe with a predominantly urban professional crowd. I've never seen a "family" having dinner here. Not to say that couples can't enjoy this restaurant, just that couples + kids seem to be absent.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMambience, atmosphere, food, ambience, atmosphere, food, and sevice were GREAT mentioned to hostess upon arrival it was first visit. Because 1st visit, complimentary appetizer or dessert offered! Bill arrived and we were charged for appetizer Server removed charge but when we got home I realized there was an additional charge for $8.00 for something named La Terre(?)that we never ordered or received. Tipped close to 30% but feel what I overpaid/ (overcharged) puts a sour note on the experience.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to come afterGreat place to come after work. Apparently it's very popular for that. The burger and fries were very good as well. Our server was very attentive as well. I would definitely come back here again.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Bar, Average RestaurantThis place is much better suited as a bar. The food was bland, but the service and atmosphere was great. They have a great selection of cocktails, but for the price, they could have used more gin.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Hour Hot SpotHappy hour spots in the loop are sometimes hard to come by, especially after going to the same places every time. Primebar is definitely one of the best places to grab a beer after work, catch a Blackhawks or Bulls game with colleagues, or go for dinner when on the run. Part of the 4 Corners Group that only makes good spots, so food is high quality, servers great and a good atmosphere. Definitely check it out3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu with a wide varietyGreat menu with a wide variety of dishes to fit every taste. I had the omelette with delicious fire roasted salsa and greens dressed with a light, tangy vinaigrette. This is a go-to place for a delicious business lunch.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Primebar to haveI went to Primebar to have lunch with a friend who works downtown. We made a reservation and it was probably very good that we did - the restaurant was pleasantly busy. Since it was our first time dining there, the waiter offered a complimentary appetizer or desert. We chose the beer mussels and we weren't disappointed. They brought a huge bowl of mussels and they were delicious. For food, I ordered the BBQ Pork sliders and my friend ordered the pork tacos. He said that he liked it a lot and I enjoyed the sliders as well. The sliders were huge though and it probably wasn't necessary to have 3 of them, 2 was enough for me. Overall, a great place for lunch downtown.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI have never been disappointedI have never been disappointed here. We get here early before the Lyric Opera and enjoy the diverse menu and drinks. The chicken tortilla soup and flat iron steak sandwich are favorites. The portions are large enough to enjoy or take home 1/2 for a 2nd meal.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed ourWe thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and cocktails at PrimeBar. The food was delicious and the service impeccable! Great place for lunch too!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood restaurant for the loopWe had a client in town and he asked that we go somewhere casual. There are not a lot of decent places in the loop, but a friend suggested Primebar. The ambience was nice, there was a broad enough food selection that we didn't have to worry, my dinner was good (sesame ahi tuna), and there was a decent selection of beer and wine. It was a good choice.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting Bento BoxesPrimeBar offers interesting and usually good Bento Boxes for lunch. The most recent box contained rice/chicken mixture, small salad, vegetable and delicious (and strangely large) chocolate dessert. Service is good but the restaurant is so packed during lunchtime that the wait staff are not as attentive as would be preferred. The noise level is high, making conversation difficult unless you are lucky enough to get one of the booths.2/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
