  • "food pretty good, location is great for offices in the loop or close west loop. service often slow."

  • "Great place for a work day lunch. We wanted to sit and watch the opening day Cubs game and this was a great choice. I had the tune BLT and it was really great. Normal downtown prices and really great food. Our server was really nice too (sorry, I can't remember his name!). We will definitely be in again."

  • "Best place for a business lunch. The service is top notch and the food is excellent!"

  • "This is a nice environment for the young work crowd, but a bit too noisy for me. The food menus we chose were not all that great. I would not return at this time of day again because of the noise factor. I wish this place well, as it looks to be a popular venue."

  • "We were really excited to try Primebar. Upon arrival the hostess was very sweet and we were seated immediately. Our server was nice but unfortunately not very attentive. Our appetizer arrived very quickly but was bland. The Prime Rib was delicious, the Fried Egg Burger not so much. The cocktails were strong but nothing to write home about. We were hoping for a great experience, but left before dessert because of the lack of service and less than great food. Disappointing! We will not be back."

  • "Primebar really hits the mid-priced sweet spot. My wife and I had dinner before a performance at the Lyric recently and this restaurant will now be our go-to place. Food: delicious, with ample portions. Service: very nicely done. Ambience: contemporary and comfortable. Put all the pieces together and Primebar delivers terrific value and an overall excellent experience."

  • "We were looking forward to Primebar, as it was our first time there. It seemed like a great place to eat, however the food was bland and uninteresting. I had the pork tocos and they were dry. The other members of our party had like complaints about the food. With so many other restaurants in Chicago. We will not be going back."

  • "Menu is diverse and I've never had a bad meal here"

  • "Somewhat pricy. The entrees were fantastic. I had the fish and chips. My guests had tuna. Well cleaned our plates!"

  • "Really good service. Good vibe. Steak sandwich was excellent. Truffle fries smelled weird."

  • "We are always looking for a good pre-opera dinner spot and this place is a good compromise between very casual and a pricey dining experience. The menu includes less expensive fair plus a few good dinner entrees. I really liked their tortilla soup although my Asian salad was surprisingly bland. My husband liked his steak and the good beer list."

  • "Fun spot for happy hour. Food was okay - upscale bar food, but atmosphere was fun. I would recommend this for happy hour or pre-theater, not for foodies."

  • "it was ok- first meal had to be sent back. second meal was OK, not for price though"

  • "This restaurant was excellent. we had a great lunch. food was very good. it came in a timely manor. I would recommend it to any body. Pricing is very reasonable."

  • "I needed a "private" location for a confidential business discussion. They provided a perfect location and the server was very discreet. Overall, they did a great job."
    Dined on 2/17/2014
  • "Not knowing what I was getting myself into proved to be the best Valentines Day date ever had. Food took a bit longer than expected but the atmosphere and service more than made up for it. Would definitely go again."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The service was great, the space is huge. I only wish they would include more fish on the fish and chips order. Increase the price a few bucks to allow some more fish because as it stands now it looks like a plate full of fries with two fish sticks."

  • "I met with a couple prospects and a business partner at Primebar for lunch to discuss some different insurance strategies. It was especially cold outside that day but it was very comfortable inside at our table. We chose a booth and had plenty of room to review the menus and handouts for our presentation. The atmosphere is always good at Primebar. It is definitely a little slower in the winter vs. the warmer months. I highly recommend making reservations as the first-come-first-serve seating fills up quick. Its a classy place that is great for business lunches. Food is delicious. I went with the pork tacos. A bit messy for a business lunch but they were worth it. Everyone else at the table also had a great meal. Hard to go wrong."

  • "I came here to visit with a previous co-worker and had heard this was a pretty stuffy place for after work drinks, but I enjoyed it overall. The red pepper hummus was really very good and more than enough for two. My friend tried the pork tacos and was pleased with getting 4 mini tacos, along with rice and beans. I myself ordered the vegetarian bahn mi sandwich with fries. The fried eggs were a little strong for me, and other than that there wasn’t much to the sandwich. The baguette was good but it was a pretty small sandwich for a “dinner.” This place has a nice vibe though, so I definitely think it’s a great spot for after work drinks, just maybe stick with the appetizers and not so much the sandwiches."

  • "The only thing I would like to say is that the service could step it up a notch.....they are quite busy...but food and environment is great and worth it !!!!"

  • "While the restaurant was half empty and the bar was jammed, table service was painfully slow. The food was mediocre. There is a great beer list but the wine we ordered was harsh and lacking in character. For a restaurant that exists because of its location that might all be fine if the prices weren't so outrageous."

  • "went here because of menu, sat at table for 20 minutes with only water and a menu, no attempt by anyone to wait on us, left, disappointed, unable to review food, because we only saw it, never tasted it."

  • "I took two of my staff members here for lunch recently. The food was pretty good as usual -- we had Vegetarian Banh Mi, Bento Box of the day and flat bread with sausage. However, we were very disappointed with desserts. I ordered the Tres Leche cake with strawberries and the strawberries had no taste. One of my guests ordered the fresh fruit with biscotti and she didn't eat the strawberries either. When I mentioned this to the server she said that she would tell the people in the kitchen, but that was it. Since these desserts each cost $5.95, I was surprised that we were not offered different desserts or that these were not taken off the bill."

    Dined on 12/26/2013
  • "The restaurant is usually a little noisy. However, I requested a quiet table for a business lunch, and they did a great job of accommodating my group. We had a table in a corner near the window. We were able to have our discussion with minimal interruptions and a good amount of privacy."

  • "Picked this place as spot for my team's end-of-year lunch. I'd walked past it a few times. Very convenient to NW side of Loop / W. Loop. Creative menu choices. I had the seared tuna tacos, which were delicious. The sauce, salsa, and rice & beans were ample & equally delicious."

  • "We were seated and then ignored. (Business party of 3). Had to get up to remind that we were there. This was not a busy night by the way. When the waitress came over she was rude. This was among the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time."

  • "It was my first time going to Prime Bar, I had the fried egg burger and my girlfriend had the Steak sandwich. Both were great, our waiter was busy, but still had great service I will return."

  • "The whole reason you go out to eat is for great food and have a great experience. Both were had here. A little loud - I think it's the place to go after work. Was able to make a reservation for 4 the night before."

  • "Love this place for business lunch. Always incredibly good. The menu is interesting and full if great choices. Salads and seafood specials are always consistently good. And a great wine list. Recommend to everyone. Great bar too after work."

  • "Food was good. Quiet Monday night and service was spotty even sitting at the bar. I got attention but my guest did not. Strange. Great beer selection on tap but our bartender did not know it very well. She recommended one to me which was great but when my guest wanted something she was not as attentive."

  • "I frequent Primebar at least once a month and it is a very nice spot for lunch. I brought my wife with me last time and she really enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks and food. We went at 11 am and beat the lunch rush so we had the place to ourselves for a short while."

  • "has been a go to place for business lunches -- really disappointed with the meal as were the clients i brought. salad was over dressed, lettuce seemed old, not much in it...."
    Dined on 10/16/2013
  • "Decided on Prime Bar as convenient prior to Opera performance -- waiter was non-communicative, borderline unfriendly. Plus we arrived for our 5:30pm reservations to learn that the facility was closing at 7pm for a private party, so we would have to clear out prior to that time. After seating, we waited at least 10 minutes before being approached by a waiter, who when he finally arrived asked for our drink order, advised us that there was no bentoh box special (although it was listed on the menu), listened to our requested drink requests and then left our table without comment or acknowledgement. Very bizarre. -- Drinks and food arrived as ordered, but overall the service was very unfriendly and unwelcoming."
