My husband and I go out to dinner often and are pretty picky about the places we dine. I have been asked by Open Table to make comments about other restaurants in the past but never felt the need to post something until now. The food and service were AMAZING at Prime. We have already given this restaurant word of mouth recommendations to our friends and colleagues but I wanted to share on Open Table that the food and service here are GREAT! If you are a steak lover like my husband and I, Prime is the place to eat! Not only is the steak WONDERFUL but the appetizers and sides are YUMMY as well. You server will help you with any questions and help make the experience enjoyable. Enjoy Prime...we certainly did!

We loved our food here! It was not crowded, and I can't understand why not. The apps were amazing, the entrees fantastic, and impeccable service. I would definitely eat here again.

The food was excellent, so I was surprised the restaurant was so empty on a Saturday night. Maybe it is the summer, maybe it is location, so I guess what they need is a good review from Baltimore Magazine and/or the Sunpapers. We would go back again.

Food was fantastic, service was great. Top chef Tim greeted us, and prepared our dinner. One of the best spots in baltimore, and it was all very affordable for the quality of food.

I was expecting alot more but when I walked into the restaurant, I almost felt that the decor and the interior were an afterthought. It almost felt like we eating in someone's basement. This set a bad tone for the meal. I had the iceberg salad which was very good and ate the cowboy steak for my main entree -- it was excellent. All meals were under $30 and came with a side. The service was ok even though we had to ask several times to have our water glasses refilled. While the food was good, I would never go back. There are too many other restaurants in Baltimore City that are reasonably priced that have a better ambience.

The food was well prepared. I had the French Onion soup and loved it. I also enjoyed the creamed spinach with onions, quite good. And my New York strip steak was cooked exactly right with just the right amount of seasoning. My husband had the Fillet Mignon with Grits and he said his food was excellent as well. The service was quite attentive and I liked the music being played, bluesy rock. A restaurant we plan to return to in the future.

Surprised it was not busier on a Friday night. Food was good. Steak was good and the appetizers/soup were outstanding. Service was excellence. Will recommend to my coworkers and friends.

We had been hearing about chef Timothy Dean for a while, and finally found a chance to head in to Fells Point to try Prime for ourselves. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was breaded and fried well enough, but the standout star was the smoky tomato dipping sauce. It had all of us talking and commenting on the simple yet magnificent flavor. Our friend ordered the French onion soup as well, and he enjoyed the excellent gruyere that topped it immensely. The ribeye and cowboy steaks were cooked perfectly and had a rub that was out of this world. My wife’s short ribs were also excellent and practically melted off the fork, even if they did look a little lonely on the plate. It should be noted that all sides are a la carte, but come

  • The overall dining experience

The overall dining experience was good. The food was great. The pricing was reasonable and the portions were generous. However, there were two problems. The first was that we had ordered a bottle of wine that was a little more expensive than we would normally order because it was a special occasion. They did not have the bottle we ordered so they suggested we have Yellow Tail instead. I was not impressed. In the end, they gave us a nice bottle for a reasonable price, but only because I complained. The second problem was that the air conditioning was not on and it was a warm night. Since the food was rich I felt we did not enjoy the tastes of the food as much as it deserved.

Disagree with the Sunpaper review. The least interesting items on the menu were the steaks. On the other dishes, the chef is pushing the envelope on the 'standard' recipes. I FOUND THE FOOD EXCITING.
