The waiter, whose name I've forgotten, but he did go to Penn St.!, and is from Lancaster, PA and hung out with the Boss in his earlier years, was phenomenal!!! He gave great suggestions; my daughter remarked how he was able to "read between the lines" when she was asking about the pros/cons of the filet mignon vs. the peppercrusted NY as he indicated to her that she could get a pepper-crusted filet; that was perfect fo her as she was looking for something a little smaller than the NY, ie he read her mind!
My wife requested a less-sweetened Mimosa and they delivered. I splurged for the A5 Kobe Wagyu Sampler - it offered 3 cuts of A5 (filet, ribeye and sirloin), each 3 ounces for $255. Without the sampler, they offered any of the cuts in 3 ounce increments of $30. It was simply wonderful, with a texture unlike anything else. Tempura onion rings were a nice accompaniment. My wife got the bone-in filet. What an incredible flavor - unlike any filet we ever tasted.
Onion soup with 4 kinds of onions was a very nice starter.

However, despite having eaten here a number of times, I never noticed this charge for a baked potato before - when delivering meal our server asked my wife if she wanted bacon and cheese added / she said yes. Check arrives with a $22. charge for her baked potato ( potato $12. plus $5. each for bacon and cheese). Even when you know a restaurant is expensive, some charges are over the top.

The Boston Bibb salad was fresh and flavorful and the Dover sole was indescribably delicious as it melted in my mouth. Every time that I dine at Prime is a special experience. The Bellagio fountains dance playfully just outside the floor to ceiling windows as if to say "enjoy every moment of this evening". We had 5:00 reservations and were promptly seated on the patio. Our waiters (especially Julio) were friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The food was served quickly - but not rushed. We had a wonderful Pinot Noir, the beef carpaccio and steak tartare appetizer, filet mignons (note, they are each ten ounces, so I suggest splitting one so you can try more sides and not waste any of the amazing food), and the black truffle mashed potatoes (by far the BEST food I have ever eaten), with their key lime pie for dessert. The fountain show really adds to the ambience of the restaurant. We arrive 45 minutes late because the Elton John concert ran over and the receptionist could not have been any nicer and more accommodating. We were shown to a lovely table and enjoyed a very good late evening. The food at Prime is very good. We opted for tuna (very rare) and the Arctic Char. Both were very good and the service was perfect as was the presentation. Very pricey but fantastic steak and presentation. The steak has this unique character of cutting like it's going to be tough but then it melts in your mouth.
