We had 5:00 reservations and were promptly seated on the patio. Our waiters (especially Julio) were friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The food was served quickly - but not rushed. We had a wonderful Pinot Noir, the beef carpaccio and steak tartare appetizer, filet mignons (note, they are each ten ounces, so I suggest splitting one so you can try more sides and not waste any of the amazing food), and the black truffle mashed potatoes (by far the BEST food I have ever eaten), with their key lime pie for dessert. The fountain show really adds to the ambience of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. So much so that we ordered too much food! We arrive 45 minutes late because the Elton John concert ran over and the receptionist could not have been any nicer and more accommodating. We were shown to a lovely table and enjoyed a very good late evening. The food at Prime is very good. We opted for tuna (very rare) and the Arctic Char. Both were very good and the service was perfect as was the presentation. We are from New York City and our standards are very high, Prime delivered to those high standards and I would highly recommend this restaurant without any reservations.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing SteakHad the Angus Wagyu ribeye for two. Very pricey but fantastic steak and presentation. The steak has this unique character of cutting like it's going to be tough but then it melts in your mouth. The service was excellent overall and the sommelier recommended an excellent, reasonably priced Bordeaux to go with the meal. The steak was of course fantastic, the sides and salad were really delicious and the service was top notch. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff made the night very special, including a fantastic birthday dessert and a gorgeous table in front of the Bellagio fountains. We both started with the French Onion soup that was the best I've had, and we each opted for the dry-aged Ribeye, and it was a delicious cut of beef that was cooked properly and a very generous portion - so large, we could not eat all the mashed potatoes that came with it. We had a lovely table overlooking the Bellagio fountains, and the staff made our evening special with a champagne welcome and finishing with a dessert of molten chocolate cake with fantastic homemade vanilla ice cream. I will give credit to the Manager who was professional and very helpful. We ordered two steaks which were VERY disappointing and were sent back. We decided not to reorder a new dinner. The pork chop was very thick and very tough. I was prepared for the prices, so that was not an issue. Food and service were quite good - prices were LasVegas standard - very high. Beautiful dining room, comfortable chairs, nice amount of space between tables. My only complaint is that there is apparently no dress code whatever. there were a few diners in T-shirts - totally inappropriate for a restaurant of this price level and quality. This was carrying Vegas informality to a ridiculous extreme. Main courses and side dishes were exceptional - the soup was only a little better than OK.
