I took a group of Nothern friends to Nashville for the weekend. I did a lot of research on restaurants and thought Prime would be a nice historic place for dinner. I was so very right. Prime is located in the old union station, just a bit west of the honky tonks. Absolutely beautiful location. Our reservation was at 8:00 and we found a nice, small compilation of diners. Staff was most attentive and helpful in choosing from the menu. With wonderful southern flavor, we found our meals just perfect. I highly recommend Prime as a dining establishment to relax before, or after, hitting the Wild West of Broadway.

  • Beautiful building but.....

The old train station is a magnificent architectural refurbished setting. However, the service was severely lacking. The room would go well to hire professional waiters to share the spotlight with the building. The tasting menu was very good but the soup course came before bread was brought to the table. The waitress asked twice if we would like cocktails even though we brought our drinks from the bar. Our 8:00 pm reservation was delayed in seating even though the room was half empty. Asked to go to bar and wait. Of course we were escorted to table with drinks in hand without taking a sip where we sat for 30 minutes without any staff activity but the cocktail and wine list and menus. Finally food order taken and a good meal followed.

The service was very slow. Took over 10 minutes to come and ask what we would like to drink and another 10 - 15 to bring a bottle of wine. The place was not busy at all only four other tables being served. The steak had no seasoning and the sides came out cold.

If you desire slow service with a generous helping of snippy, juvenile attitude, come to this ghost town for dinner. Maybe the poor service is why this restaurant was half empty on Saturday night while every other restaurant in Nashville was packed.

Had dinner there on a Friday night and there was people at only three other tables. It's like a ghost town in there as there are so few people eating there. The food was only fare at best. All of the food was bland and without flavor.

The location at Union Station is great. The food was excellent but the wait person did not live up to location. Wine was never poured or checked on, bread had to be requested, etc. Nice person but the restaurant should take lessons from the Capitol Grill. The Capitol Grill does it right and Prime 108 should as well. With a little proper training, this restaurant can be amazing!

A gorgeous place. Delightful food. A great date night. The service could have been faster (we had to wait more than necessary for orders to be taken, etc.), but if you're there for a romantic date, it doesn't matter much; you can simply look into the eyes of your beau as they sparkle in the candlelight. I wasn't impressed with the quinoa side that came with my lamb, but the lamb was great as was every other bit of food we ordered, so I really wouldn't complain. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. She made good recommendations and her suggestions for dessert made for an excellent end to our dinner. (I had peach cobbler with the basil ice cream: dreamy.) Hostess and server both made a point to wish us well on our anniversary. :)

The salad and crab cakes were very good but the entrees were disappointing. The scallops were a bit gelatinous and the lamb chops were fatty and did not have much meat on them. The cold quinoa was not a good compliment to the lamb. However, the seasonings were good.

Loved it. I went with my mom, husband, and three college age young men. Perfect. We could all find an excellent choice for dinner, wine, dessert. I had the fish special, others had steak, lamb, vegetarian options. All were outstanding. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies. And, we could all hear each other, even my slightly deaf hubby and my 80 year old mom. It was busy but the service was attentive but not intrusive. Loved it all.

We loved this restaurant and the ambience, having been looking forward to going for some time. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was fabulous, but the longer we were there the slower the service was. Not sure what was going on, hopefully something we weren't aware. The waitress was very friendly and we liked her, but we were there 2 and a half hours for a meal. Our dinner plates sat for at least 20 mins before we finally called over the food director, who was very very nice and apologetic and took care of us for the rest of the meal. We just felt for the prices, the service should be much better.

Two families (8 of us) came to Nashville last weekend to celebrate the engagement of our son and their daughter. I chose Prime 108 because someone told me it was a cool and romantic setting and that the food was good. The first two bottles of wine we ordered were out of stock but they bent over backwards and discounted the substitutes for us. The waitress could have been a little more attentive as my water glass was empty for a long time. I was surprised to see 20% added to my bill. We didn't get $120 worth of service. The food was tasty and well prepared (I had the 4 course sampler) Everyone said they loved their food but I think it was a one and done for me, especially if I'm picking up the check. I expected to be blown away. I wasn't.

Took 7 guests there for dinner. If you want a very nice ambiance, this is the place. Strolling guitar payer was excellent. The hotel lobby is spectacular. Restaurant a bit less so with odd large artwork on walls. Nicely covered chairs and booths. As far as the food, not spectacular. Crab cakes, too much cake, not enough crab. Heirloom tomato plates short on the amount of tomatoes and cheese for the price. I enjoyed the beet salad; the best thing I tasted. Shared chicken dish; it was simply baked pounded and breaded chicken. Two guest did enjoy vegetarian ravioli. Two other guests had beef filets, that were ok, but nothing special at $41. Two other guests shared the cowboy ribeye. Again, only average, but clearly enough for two.

Their biggest dishes like the sirloin steak and the crab cake appetizer, didn't go over that well with the people I was dining with and they didn't look that great either. But, I think that might be a result of the restaurant wanting to take risks with presenting interesting food in new, somewhat unexpected preparations. Some highlights- the server, shrimp appetizer, scallops, chicken marsala soup, vegetarian ravioli, desserts (lavender creme brulee, peach cobbler, chocolate torte) Some lowlights- the restaurant was very, very quiet for a Saturday night (aka empty) so it was a little gloomy, particularly because of the dark ambiance. Steak and crab cake were underwhelming. Bread and butters before dinner were underwhelming.

We were looking for a place that would meet some specific requirements: great food, quiet so we could talk with out-of-town friends that we hadn't seen in a long time, and a unique place in Nashville showcasing historical elements. Prime 108 was perfect. The hotel lobby is impressive, the restaurant is beautifully designed, dramatic and gorgeous, the food was excellent and the service was attentive and not intrusive. The restaurant delivered an amiable and welcoming experience without being pretentious. It will be our "go to" place for special occasions.

I wasn't expecting this place to be in a train station turned hotel. The architecture of the place was captivating. Also the service staff was very friendly and they knew the menu. If you're stuck between choice ask the staff their opinion and they will provide a great option. It was very quite for an early Sunday dinner. They didn't seem to mind cargo pants and a polo even though the dress code is business casual. They were very understanding since I did just arrive in Nashville off a plane. The Vegetable Ravioli was the best that I've had so far. The spinach was steamed to perfection. It was nice a bright green like spinach is supposed to be. The dessert options are wonderful! Try the tart or cheesecake you can't go wrong.

Absolutely terrific meal and delightful evening. The rennovated Union Station Hotel with its magnificent lobby and stunning Tiffany windows are worth a visit for everyone. But the dinner atvPrime 108 was a delight we will long treasure. The chef's tasting prix fixe with wine pairings was stupendous--from first bite/sip to the last. The poached apricot dessert was hands down the best dessert I can remember. And the pairings were perfect. Thank you. We will long remember our evening at Prime 108 as a highlight of our Nashville trip.

Dinner was great, we had the fried shrimp app and the two specials for dinner. We had the fresh catch (snapper) and the vegetarian special (gnocchi). The snapper was great and the gnocchi was good but my wife thinks it had too much balsamic glaze. Service was great, but it wasn't busy at all.
