No stuffy waitstaff here... not even with the ambience. Our waitress Michele last night was one of the best we've ever had. She treated the two of us as though we were her only table, even though we weren't drinking wine and running up the tab (the kind of table most waiters dread)... and she had a terrific laugh when we included her in our jokes. The food was wonderful... as always. I had scallopine alla discepoli and it was a treat... veal, shrimp, mushrooms & artichokes in a cream sherry garlic butter sauce. While the tables with the direct view make it unforgetable, the tables directly in front of these kind of take away from the view. Also go at night if you can the view at night is much better. I will be going back again3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMUnimpressed againThe service is top notch and the view of the city is breathtaking no matter what table you are sitting at.Now the cons:The tables are arranged uncomfortably close and the food was mediocre.I had the Saltimbocca which is presented like a pizza with a hard, thick layer of cheese on top. The procuitto and over abundance of cheese overpowered the flavor of the veal and it was cold. The greenbeans were cooked perfectly. The gorgonzola polenta was one of the best things that I have ever tasted. We ordered the Calamari Fritti and Ravioli con Pesto alle Noce- both were cooked well, but really needed the seasonings adjusted- we all added salt. The 3 others with me were very disappointed with their meals. In addition to the great views of downtown Cincinnati and the Ohio River, the food is always outstanding. Our party of 4 all ordered different entrees, and all were impressive and cooked to perfection. The special of the day featuring mahi mahi poached with a lobster butter sauce was superb. We all enjoyed the fresh salads that were dressed with restraint. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. The only negative was that the restaurant was a bit noisy due to the energetic crowd around us.
