Diner Reviews
  • "Having never dined at Primavista before, my group and I went there on a bit of a whim hoping it would live up to it's reviews and it definitely did. The service and atmosphere were excellent. The waiters were quite helpful and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious! The prices were also quite reasonable for the quality of food you receive not to mention the view provided along with the dining. Our group went at 7:30 so we were able to watch as all the lights began to turn on and fill the Cincinnati valley below us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a special evening or just a delicious dining experience. I definitely hope to return sometime I'm in Cincinnati."

  • "A girlfriend and I ate here, both being 20 year old the waitress immediately gave us no attention. An hour for refills and to have our order taken. Then was very snooty and looked down on us because we are young. She was very rude and the table next to us, which came in after we Sid, were done eating their food by the time me and my friend got our order placed."

  • "As always, the food was great. The Fish Special with Lobster pieces and sauce was wonderful, and the Caesar salad was great as always. We had the 3-flavors of gelato which topped the meal really well. The Ohio River is always a great back-drop for the great food."

  • "I took my girlfriend here and didn't regret it one bit. The food wasn't bad and was reasonably priced; although I've had better Italian food. The service was superb and you can't beat the view of the city. Don't forget to check out their wine list either. The best part was dessert. It's called the Tuscan Brownie and it's one of the best desserts I've had in Cincinnati. Definitely give Primavista a chance if you're looking for solid Italian food and an awesome view of the city."

  • "The food was phenomenal, but my date and I were taken a back by how nice the entire service staff were. We very much so appreciated the overall experience that the restaurant had to offer. We will definitely be back at some point."

  • "My mom and I were visiting Cincinnati and found this place online with good recommendations. It was a great night, beautiful room and food significantly better than I expected. If I travel through the area again, I would definitely eat here again."

  • "We came here for a special occasion and the restaurant was very accommodating of our group of 7. Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed! The view of the city by the windows is fantastic, and the wait staff was very attentive. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a great meal for a special occasion (or just for good Italian food in general!)."

  • "The view is outstanding. Still one of my favorite places to gaze down on the city of Cincinnati. However the food is definitely a distant second. I had the ravioli and my wife the pesto. They were both fairly average. The sauces were both fairly good, but the pastas themselves were just ok. Our service was very attentive and knowledgeable."

  • "My wife and I went for our anniversary. The staff was courteous knowledgeable and attentive. The food was good and the wine list was extensive. I have a wheat allergy and they adapted to my needs well. They have several menus for dietary restrictions. Mainly, though, the view of the Cincinnati skyline was the standout feature."

  • "FYI ...Your hostess is not very friendly. Also the table next us... They were a couple and while the man went to the bathroom the waiter brought the woman a cupcake with a lit candle to celebrate the couple's anniversary. I was flabbergasted by the fact that the waiter was dumb enough to bring the damn cupcake and candle while the girl was sitting there by herself. And it wasn't until I said something to our waitress about it that anyone noticed. On a positive note your bartender was very friendly and the food was phenomenal. I suggest you guys work on the front of the house, it's really holding you back from being five stars. Good luck. We will be back I love the lamb chops."

  • "Incredible view... our entrees were delicious! Still the best and most consistent italian restaurant in the city."

  • "My boyfriend and I go to Primavista a lot. We are never disappointed! We each have our favorite dishes but sometimes we try something new. Every new thing we try is always amazing! This is by far our favorite place. This visit the owner asked us how everything was and if we had been there before. I informed him that we come here a lot and how much we love it. He smiled, walked away and seemed pleased. Later, out waitress told us that we got dessert free from the owner :-) we had the vanilla custard w/ dark Carmel sauce and it was just as good as dinner!"

  • "My husband can't eat mushrooms and wanted the steak, but it came with some sort of side dish that had mushrooms in it and they wouldn't substitute for anything else, so he had to have it.. he didn't eat it but at those prices, they should have made the arrangement to allow another side or something in its place, but the server said no. I probably will not be back, but the view is undenyable. I look forward to the place next door. I also felt the decor was very dated looking and would have liked to have seen a little updating specifically getting rid of the paneled walls."

  • "Best dining experience in a long time. Our waiter was so friendly and it was very romantic! Can't wait to go again"

  • "The restaurant is good but a bit dated - it's a middle-of-the-road level of sophistication. Would be amazing with a redecoration, new plates/china. But for what it was, it's quite good and not overpriced."

  • "Appetizer was phenomenal, got the calamari. Entrees were okay, wouldn't get the same one again. Can't remember what it was called, something with chicken and garlic butter sauce with angel hair pasta. Lemon basil sorbet is amazing! Of course the view is great, the tables are so close together though that when someone sat behind me we hit each other a lot. Overall a great experience and would definitely go back."

  • "This has got to be one of my favorite places to take my wife for good food and a spectacular view of Cincinnati from above. It's great to go to after a show at the Aranoff downtown or any other special occasion. Their desserts topped our evening."

  • "The view is fantastic and so is the food. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to every detail. I would definitely recommend this resturaunt and plan to visit again."

  • "Waitress was excellent she knew the menu and recommended nightly specials. My wife asked for something that used to be on menu. She checked with chef and no problem. Half price wine night on Thursday was an added bonus. Always consistent quality."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner with friends from Philadelphia. The food was exceptional as usual. We love the fish choices. The salad and vegetables were so well done. We love eating at the Prima Vista because we always know that we will have a wonderful food experience."

  • "I love this place! Great atmosphere, unbelievable view, food was excellent! Highly recommend to anyone. Great for a special occasion or romantic dinner. Not somewhere I would bring the kids."

  • "This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I was having dinner with my father who is vegetarian. I found this restaurant from a google search for vegetarian restaurants on my search for the perfect birthday meal. Let me just start by saying the view is spectacular! Happy to say our food was wonderful as well. They have a seperate vegetarian/vegan menu. While I am sure many of the options were on the regular menu with meat it felt so great to be able to look at an entire menu we could eat from without taking out ingredients. I have never been to a restaurant who did that but wish more would. For that any many other reasons we will be making the drive from KY very soon to visit again!"

  • "Food was decent but the server did not take our order until 40 minutes after our party was complete. Then she was very slow to respond with requests (parmesan cheese, for instance). We spent a good deal of the time looking around for her to make sure we didn't miss her when she was in our area. In all, the experience took well over 2 hours. The food was fair but not good enough to justify the wait."

  • "In our group of 6 the diners had pizza, pasta, & fish. The pizza crust is outstanding and toppings especially homemade Italian sausage were very tasty. The ravioli sauce was just right - very flavorful but not too spicy and the fish was made to perfection. All of this was made even better with the terrific view."

  • "Celebrated my birthday at this amazing place. Was my first time dining but certainly not the last. Energy was great, food was amazing and service was top-notch. Tables were too close together, but that it's my only complaint. It wasn't bothersome, but tough to get in and out of your seat."

  • "We had out of town guests. All if us thought the food was excellent. We were seated next yo a family whose two kids got quite noisy but eventually the parents suited them. Service was attentive. Menu us mostly trZfitional but some things are a bit adventurous. A nice mix."

  • "My daughter goes to grad school at UC and only goes to loud night spots so when it came time to meet the new boyfriend we were in a quandary. We had many qualifiers for this restaurant and it exceeded expectations. We wanted elegant yet upbeat, quiet enough for conversation, but not too quiet, great service, but not hovering, Italian food, but creative Italian and lastly "special occasion prices," but not "are you joking me??? prices." She and I settled on Primavista by looking at reviews and at the website pictures so when we walked in and were shown to a beautiful table overlooking the city I felt like I had just opened a Christmas present that was exactly what I wanted. It was a great experience."

  • "Admittedly, reserved for the view. Quite a different perspective looking West to East, fun trying to pick out the various buildings. Once you are done admiring, there is a nice little bar tucked away, in case your table is not ready. Then the food is fabulous -- our group of 10 ran the gamut from veal to lamb to spaghetti and mahi mahi. All done with good sauces, toppings, and sides. The wedding soup reminded me of the ethnic neighborhood I grew up in. Desserts worth saving some room for. Speaking of savings, this is a deal when it comes to the cost of drinks, entrees, and other accompaniments. Our server was very patient and gracious."

  • "Even in the dead of winter, the view at Prima Vista is gorgeous. Special request for the mushroom risotto to be made with vegetable stock instead of chicken, was met with a smile. The result was a delicious, complex dish. Go on a Thursday to enjoy 1/2 price bottles of wine. We went all out - wine, appetizer, salad, entrees and dessert. It was all amazing."

  • "I have read some reviews that dissect each aspect of this restaurant . For me going to PrimaVista is a total experience. The view and banquet seating set the tone and the service is always friendly and professional. The menu has a variety of flavors and options. I choose what I like and it always satisfies. I have never been disappointed with the experience."
