Presidio Social Club
Love Presidio Social ClubGreat place, great location, great food, great atmosphere, easy parking.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden local gem!I just love it here! I have ordered just about everything on the menu & not been disappointed with a single bite. The beignets are amazing & something NOT to be missed, the cheese toast tips with tomato soup are a perfect appetizer, the salads are dressed just right & they taste like the chef went & picked the ingredients when my order was received. The wait staff are knowledable and terifically friendly, another plus to the overall experience at PSC! Truly, The atmosphere for brunch is light & lively without being so noisy you can't hear each other and for dinner it's candlelit to perfection and a perfect spot to sit with your special someone and have a nice meal, apps and a drink are a good time too! Eat here - you will enjoy I promise!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMake sure to try the SMASHEDMake sure to try the SMASHED PEAS and the KALE SALAD!!! Also, great cocktails!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic feelI really enjoy the Presidio Social Club. The food is very good (not amazing, but very good) but the space itself is what I love most. It feels like a 50s or 60s era supper club. Like it could have been plucked from a street in Havanna and dropped into the Presidio. It's that "reminiscent of a by gone era" feeling that I love the most. I also love a restuarant that allows guests to bring their own wines (PSC charges a corking fee of $20),
The bad parts? Well, the service is mediocre and the restaurant has a slight smell of amonia.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for Lunch and DinnerI had been to PSC for lunch a number of times before, but this was my first dinner experience. The raw bar and appetizer selections are excellent. My steak entree was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked, as was my fiancé's salmon. We ended the meal with espresso hot chocolate-dipped beignets that were unreal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for a young couple date night.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for our reunionThere were twelve of us at lunch, from 19 to 94, locals and relatives from Boston and Bay Area. We had one of the most agreeable waiters ever who took each order as if it were the most important thing in the world at the moment. It was a beautiful day, the light and mood in the restaurant added to our happiness at seeing one another. We could find parking! We couldn't not have chosen a better place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!If I thought I could get away with eating only Butter Lettuce Salad for every meal, this is the only place I would ever go!! But the whole menu is delicious and the service is always top shelf. Just a great neighborhood place.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely DinnerThe room is fabulous and service incredibly attentive. Our server made the suggestion of adding crab to the avocado and fennel salad which was delicious and a perfect light entree. Everything was delicious - the sides are not be missed, the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Hat's off to the managers who create a warm and welcoming experience.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere. Went forGreat atmosphere. Went for Mother's Day brunch, crab was unreal!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely location with viewsLovely location with views of Bay and Presidio. Fun place to meet people for lunch - probably also good for dinner. Local crowd - not just tourists.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood place for a special occassionBrought some out-of-town friends to PSC for their farewell dinner before they left town. They weren't very adventurous with the food choices, despite my gentle nudging, but they raved about their hamburgers being made perfectly! I ordered a few salads to share and they were happily surprised. I think they were envisioning a plain old salad...but I ordered the avocado salad and the kale salad. *avocado salad was the favourite* The mixed drinks (Long Island Iced Teas) were very nice although I did overhear one of them say he wished the glasses were a bit bigger.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerDinner was great. Food delicious. A little noisy. Sat near the door so it was very cold and uncomfortable every time the door opened5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReturn to Presidio Social ClubIt's wonderful to dine surrounded by the beautiful lawns and trees of the Presidio and have the added bonus of free and plentiful parking! PSC enhanced our mini reunion with family by giving excellent service and food. The petrale sole was delicious. The hamburger and meatloaf also got rave reviews. Weight watching matrons could not resist the chocolate sundae with in-house made marshmallows. One of the biggest selling points is the side dishes: generous proportions of sautéed spinach and roasted whole carrots. We will return as often as possible.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMShowing love for the social club!We love going to the Presidio Social Club because of the building, the history, the food, the service, and the surroundings! Thanks for the continually wonderful experiences that we have shared there. We look forward to our next visit.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA classy laid-back gem in PresidioI love this place. It's simple. It's good. It's bright, light and surrounded by the beauty of the Presidio. Staff is attentive and food is consistant. Whether it's brunch, a drink after work with a girlfriend, or a romantic dinner- this place seems to fit the mood no matter the occasion.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my most favorite......restaurants in San Francisco. It helps that I am a neighbor, but the food is always excellent, staff incredibly friendly and the cocktails are done to perfection!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite place. I enjoyedMy new favorite place. I enjoyed dinner at the Presidio Social Club for the first time Friday evening and took a friend to dinner there Sunday evening!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good food but wouldAlways good food but would enjoy a slightly larger choice of entres.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently Awesome!!The Presidio Social Club is one of my favorite go-to restaurants..love to take my family and friends here!! Food and service are consistently top notch. Recently took friend there for brunch, and we both had the fabulous crab eggs benedict.
The PSC has a wonderful old-school San Francisco vibe to it, given it's location (in a renovated Presidio barracks) and decor (metal cabinets salvaged from the old Letterman hospital. Add to it, a wonderful menu of old fashioned cocktails and jazzed up American comfort food, combined with truly wonderful friendly service - it's a winner!! Highly recommend!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch with friends and visitingBrunch with friends and visiting family, including a 6 year old and a diner with mobility issues. Food was very good, but the environment was probably what made it such a great experience! We got there on the early side of brunch, which was great for us. By 11:30 the place started filling up. I could see going back without the 6 year old and having a couple of adult beverages. Will definitely return.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was not mentioned at timeIt was not mentioned at time of reservation nor seating that we would be hustled out of the dining room -- and then the patio -- very graciously -- so you could set up for a private function. Had we known we might have gone elsewhere for our extended leisurely late lunch.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting, excellentBeautiful setting, excellent service. I will definitely go here again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPresidio Social Club was veryPresidio Social Club was very accommodating when some of our party was late due to traffic. The hostess had marked us as a no-show, even though we were sitting at the bar two chairs away from her, I guess she didn't see us? But, once we were all there, we were seated right away. The comfort food was very good. The noise level was rather high. We often had to repeat ourselves during our conversations, which was a bit frustrating. Never been here with this high of a noise level. Overall, we had a very good experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMade a good choice!Had a very good experience. Ambiance is great for lunch. Energetic crowd...restaurant full. Two of our group ordered the fish special of the day and thought it was prepared beautifully, sitting on fresh asparagus. One of the two commented that it was too Cal cuisine basically because it was missing a starch...remedied easily with an order of bread. This was my brother who complained, so I also shared my chicken/arugula salad with him (order it with avocado). Plenty of food with that order. Will return. I did check on the corkage before arriving : $20.00 (but you can bring 2 bottles max for that price). I had a nice bottle of Chardonnay, but only we only wanted one bottle, and $20 seemed high for just one.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. A satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a wonderful spot. This is a wonderful spot. I happened to pick it because I was meeting a friend for lunch and had never dined here - it will definitely be a favorite spot from this point on. The server was slammed but you would never know it - she was flawless. The food was amazing and the location was ideal. The back patio was warm and we discussed how much fun it would be to go at night as well. Highly recommend this place. Loved it.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMJust had a family brunch atJust had a family brunch at Presidio Social Club and can't believe I haven't been there before. It was great and everyone really loved the food and the ambiance. Afterwards we were able to stroll through the Presidio...making for a really great morning. The brunch Bahn Mi Sandwich (I added duck confit) was delicious. Others at our table enjoyed the cheese toasts, the kale salad with chicken and the chilaquiles. Winners all around!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMManager. was great so welcoming.Manager. was great so welcoming. Waiter was just great. Food really good. Ambulance everything one could ask for a birthday clelebration4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome as usual, but we wereAwesome as usual, but we were on the patio and had to ask to have heaters turned on; maybe we were overflow and they didn't expect patio dining, but there were two other tables besides ours, all in need of a bit of warmth.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been going to the PSCI have been going to the PSC for a number of years now with friends or planning a get together event since it opened. Food, service needs to improveOverall we had a lovely dinner, however our service was not great at all.
The waitress appeared to be harried and overly busy, service between courses
Was long, she forgot to bring more wine, did not check back on us,
Just not what one would expect. Too bad for me, who took a most important
Client to dinner.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not been to PSC in aI had not been to PSC in a long time. We don't live in SF and friends are always wanting to take us to newest foodie place. I chose PSC because I like location and we were all impressed with great food and service.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, We got a table with a view of the Presidio, just as I had requested on Open Table a month ago!I was impressed. The fixed price Roasted Pork was fabulous. Great value for great food and service....what more can you ask foralso on a Sunday night it was quiet---a great place to hear dinner conversation!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC, ASTHE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC, AS WAS THE SERVICE. THE NOISE LEVEL WAS TOO HIGH. COULD NOT TALK TO MY DINNER PARTNER WITHOUT A MICROPHONE, COULD NOT HEAR THE WAIT STAFF. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS WOULD GO BACK ON A WEEK NIGHT4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMInside the Presidio in a "vintage"Inside the Presidio in a "vintage" building with plenty of windows to enjoy the green outside. Great service and good variety in the soup/salad/entree balanced menu. My group of four all found something to like, from kale salad to fish chowder. Friendly, attentive service. Gracious hostess agreed to push back our reservation when we called to say we were running late. FREE parking at the site appreciated.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEnergetic is not as descriptiveEnergetic is not as descriptive for the noise level as I would use. The bomb is better because we had to shout hear each other.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI absolutely love PSC andI absolutely love PSC and this is the second year in a row I've had my birthday dinner there. It's a great gathering spot for a dependably tasty meal with dear friends. It's also a great advantage that parking is always free and relatively easy at this charming venue. As good as their savory menu is, the sweet items are even better! I'm a huge fan of their famous lemon meringue cake and always leave room for a slice.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Psc - wonderful ambience......Love Psc - wonderful ambience.......lovely experience4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPresidio Social Club is onePresidio Social Club is one of my favorite places to bring out of town visitors. The service is always excellent (particularly the bartenders, best martini in town!), love the historic building, really sets an interesting tone and the views out into the woods of the Presidio are really soothing. It can get a little loud when busy but I like the "buzz" of the place. Highly recommend!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great Holiday OutingThe Easter Sunday special lamb entree was splendid. It featured multiple preparations, including two generous ribs from a roasted rack, slices of the saddle, and a tasty ragout. Our servers were warm and professional, as always, despite the challenge of serving a very large holiday table next to us.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were headed to the DisneyWe were headed to the Disney museum, and booked the Presidio Social Club for lunch.
The ambiance is lovely, the Crab Louie delicious, and the service was perfect.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed it - it wasI really enjoyed it - it was our first time and the food was good and the ambience too!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMin the last year or so, thein the last year or so, the quality of the food and service have both stepped up to be reliably consistent and very well prepared. fresh is really fresh, hot foods are hot as they should be, the breads are flavorful, meats succulent, seasonings balanced. this is a restaurant to visit on a regular basis--which i do. the menu is not extensive but offers something for everyone, young or old, and is just sophisticated enough to provide a bit of adventure.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very good restaurant. This is a very good restaurant. It has good food without being pretentious. The food is well prepared and presented. The service is a little slow but there were many customers for a Sunday night and they may have been lacking a server. We would highly recommend this place for a very good dinner.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNice little oasis in the oasisNice little oasis in the oasis that is the Presidio. Good variety in drinks and food. Short ribs were wondefully tender. Highly recommend!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch in the PresidioBeautiful day in the Presidio. Window table as requested. Almost went for the patio, which looked perfectly sun drenched. Quick, flawless service.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Presidio Social ClubSet in an old Presidio Army building, the interior has been updated just enough to make it feel elegant without losing the original charm. Small enough to feel intimate but not tiny. Expansive windows. The menu comprises straight forward dishes usually with a little twist that adds interest. Prices are reasonable for what you will experience.
Their bar is a place to eat or have drinks. The Mai Tai is an original 1940s recipe-like the old fashioned version at Trader Vics. All and all a super place.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA splendid birthday dinner. The service was exceptional given how busy it was.
The food was excellent - really splendid and perfect. The Kale Salad is amazing ans the swordship was fresh and moist.
The noise level was very challenging.
Hard. But we managed!!! One of my favorite Chardonnay choices, Calera, is available by the glass there! So unusual!!
My friend loved the liver and onions!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
