PSC enhanced our mini reunion with family by giving excellent service and food. The petrale sole was delicious. The hamburger and meatloaf also got rave reviews. Weight watching matrons could not resist the chocolate sundae with in-house made marshmallows. One of the biggest selling points is the side dishes: generous proportions of sautéed spinach and roasted whole carrots. The PSC has a wonderful old-school San Francisco vibe to it, given it's location (in a renovated Presidio barracks) and decor (metal cabinets salvaged from the old Letterman hospital. Add to it, a wonderful menu of old fashioned cocktails and jazzed up American comfort food, combined with truly wonderful friendly service - it's a winner!! This was my brother who complained, so I also shared my chicken/arugula salad with him (order it with avocado). Plenty of food with that order. Will return. I did check on the corkage before arriving : $20.00 (but you can bring 2 bottles max for that price). I happened to pick it because I was meeting a friend for lunch and had never dined here - it will definitely be a favorite spot from this point on. The server was slammed but you would never know it - she was flawless. The food was amazing and the location was ideal. It was great and everyone really loved the food and the ambiance. Afterwards we were able to stroll through the Presidio...making for a really great morning. The brunch Bahn Mi Sandwich (I added duck confit) was delicious. Others at our table enjoyed the cheese toasts, the kale salad with chicken and the chilaquiles. The service is always excellent (particularly the bartenders, best martini in town!), love the historic building, really sets an interesting tone and the views out into the woods of the Presidio are really soothing. Small enough to feel intimate but not tiny. Expansive windows. The menu comprises straight forward dishes usually with a little twist that adds interest. Prices are reasonable for what you will experience.
