Prepkitchen - Little ItalyFood is amazing! One of the best in Little Italy, San Diego. Excellent food!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Anniversary! My wife and I celebrated our 18th anniversary at Prep Kitchen. The food was great. We started in the bar with a glass of the red and white sangria. The olives are an extremely generous serving and were delicious. The fresh shap peas and chorizo empanadas. Very good and easy to share. Once seated we had the Beet salad and the Pig Ear salad. Both were wonderful, and I can now say I have had crispy pig ear! We split the Flat Iron steak. Great! While waiting for the Bread Pudding, they brought out two glasses of bubbly to say happy anniversary. This was just a great experience over all. We also decided to buy a round for the kitchen staff, its an option on the dessert menu. They did a great job. We will be back!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent place to eatFood was awesome and service was even better! Food was simple yet very creative.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional food, just a bitExceptional food, just a bit noisy. I'd still go back anytime.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for happy hour and satWent for happy hour and sat at the bar even though we had reservations. Cannot wait to go back. Everything we ate was amazing., The cheese board is great and full of all sorts of yummy pairings. We had the octopus which was heavenly. Have to try the desserts too!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner, great...desserts...ehFirst, I must state that our server was just wonderful - always arrived at the perfect time, smiling and professionally humorous and witty.
Our cocktails were delicious. Our appetizers were very good - we had the flatbread which was covered in pickled strawberries, pancetta and arugula & the flatbread was thin and "soft-crisp", if that makes any sense. Our roasted pork belly was good as well. My dinner of Maine diver scallop tagliatelle with saffron meyer lemon creme was so good I wanted a swimming pool of it. My friend's fusilli bolognese was standard, but good. The desserts were disappointing though - bread pudding = dry...chocolate & salted caramel tart = brittle and lacked flavor...Meyer lemon cheesecake = a little solid.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceWould def. recommend this place. Awesome food and service!!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative EatsPrepkitchen is a unique member of the Little Italy eateries. Alway creative in their paired ingredients for flatbreads, sandwiches and main dishes. We enjoy taking out of town quests there for lunch or dinner as the experience is always enjoyable.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchWe loved the food & cocktails, especially the beet salad and cucumber mimosas. The hostesses were very friendly & our waiter, Kyle, made the experience even more fun. We'll definitely be back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a good betPrepkitchen Little Italy is one of my favorite spots, especially for a weekend brunch. Huge fan of the chilaquiles and love the coffee/scone bar. The service is good and it's always a great atmosphere. I hope to come by for dinner sometime soon!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways an adventure! My wife and I lived in San Diego for 2 years and this was one of our favorite eateries. Any time we go back, dinner at Prepkitchen - Little Italy is a must! The menu is unique and every dish is layered with flavors. The atmosphere is casual (early dining is quieter, but a later dinner is great for people watching). The waitstaff are outstanding and extremely knowledgeable.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot!I've become a bit of a fan of the Prepkitchen locations. The Little Italy spot is great. As with anything in the area, it gets busy and a bit noisy, but the staff is fantastic, the food is always good, and it's a nice, comfortable, fun place to go. Doesn't feel "stuck up" like some places can get, it's just "what it is" and it's good!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DinerHad a great time. Seated promptly. Friendly servers. Needs met. Great, and different food (pig ears!!) food. Had fun good time.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, not great. There were a lot of crossover items from their other restaurant, Whisknladle. It was very good though.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGirlfriend's BirthdayI took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had a great time. The ambience was hip and warm, and the staff was very friendly. They brought my girlfriend out a special dessert at the end of the meal, and she very pleased. I would definitely recommend and go back again.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff here is very wellThe staff here is very well trained in menu knowledge. We love everything about it, and are delighted with how light and fresh (and delicious) everything is! My personal favorite is the beet salad, but a friend had the 'Catch of the Day', and I know I'll be trying that next time!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMJen Queen is the bomb. That'sJen Queen is the bomb. That's all I really have to say about that.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat suggestions! The food was excellent, as was the service. Our waiter offered some amazing suggestions which we did partake in. It was a little gluttonous, but was a great way to have a memorable and rare dinner out with our friends. I'm not sure what we are craving more, the cocktails or the food. I'm sure we will indulge in both when we return.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative, fun brunch items.Creative, fun brunch items. Self service coffee bar is a great idea for caffeine junkies who cannot wait for servers to keep their cups full. Scone bar looked yummy. Corned beef eggs Benedict and ricotta stuffed French toast were delicious. The sliced fruit in my fruit bowl tasted like onions because I think the knife was not rinsed properly. Otherwise, a very nice relaxing brunch in open, airy space.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad to eat at your restaurantGlad to eat at your restaurant and looking forward to eating there again.

The mashed potatoes were also so delicious. But the real standout was the service. Natalie was amazing and when we spilled some au jus a glass of sparkling water was immediately brought to the table. Came across this great pizza place. authentic and delicious4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery loud, hard to have aVery loud, hard to have a conversation. Chairs are metal, very uncomfortable. Menu changes weekly, except for a few standards so, if there was a specific dish you wanted, check the menu that day. Appetizers and salads were expensive but enough for 4 people. The fried artichoke hearts were way too much for 2. Excellent Cesear salad, chicken was flavored all through (brined for 24 hours) and one of the best margueritas I've had.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food and delightfulTerrific food and delightful wait staff. Will definately return.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale casual dining at it'sUpscale casual dining at it's best. The food was great. The flatbread was perfectly light for an appetizer - nice mix if cheese, sauted onion and bacon. The short rib dish was so tender and flavorful. The fusili bolognese was great, but would have been better with a flat noodle rather than fusili pasta. Ambiance is perfect for date night or out with a group. The service was outstanding. The friendliness and attentiveness of our server and all of the staff made the evening so enjoyable.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMmy wife and i dine out a lotmy wife and i dine out a lot and havebeeto many restaurants in san diego. this one stays in our top 5 restaurants for overall farm to table food and flavors. we love it.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience.Great dining experience. Everything was top notch.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PMI like the farm-to-table approachI like the farm-to-table approach to the menu selection, it keeps it updated and dynamic. All of the dishes we had were amazing, the clams in a white sauce were unique and quite delicious. The service was excellent, our water and wine glasses never emptied and the waiter was around for a quick question or adding more to our order. This is a place where you could go with a group, ordering and eating family style, so everyone can try a little bit of everything since it's all delicious.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
